Thanks for the new thread.

Hope everyone still waiting is doing well and all those with babies here are enjoying snuggle time ❤️

AK93 · 23/03/2023 18:08

Thank you!!xx

TeddyBeans · 23/03/2023 18:12

Feel free to tag anyone I've missed!

SleepySlumber · 23/03/2023 18:12

Still waiting - my c section is booked for the 28th (Tuesday) which feels both very soon and a million miles away.
I was up all night with acid reflux and cramps which keep coming and going and are driving me crazy as I think labour may start but it doesn’t. So I watched Netflix til I passed out and my partner woke me up at 6am on the sofa. Not going to lie even post section recovery I’m wanting more than being 39 weeks. So uncomfortable 😖

BabyLimey · 23/03/2023 18:13

@lriddles I’m feeling the exact same about hubby going back to work but still have another week of him. I’m trying not to think about it so it doesn’t impact our last week but he’s doing so much to help with the baby, I just can’t see how I’m going to do it without him 😩

BabyTalbot1 · 23/03/2023 19:18

Thank you @TeddyBeans

Ladies who were induced, did you have the pessary and gels? If so, how long was in-between each medication?

TeddyBeans · 23/03/2023 19:34

@BabyTalbot1 I think the pessary was 1 every 24 hours and the gel was every 6 hours but don't quote me on that! I didn't need more than one of either type. My waters broke spontaneously about 15 hours after the pessary with DS and DD was in such a rush, she popped out an hour and 25 minutes after the gel was put in

Allthesmallthings90 · 23/03/2023 19:38

Thank you!

Dreamingof3 · 24/03/2023 03:38

@SleepySlumber that's going to come round super quick! I had my section Monday and even with the pain and a newborn im still sleeping better than the last few weeks of pregnancy....it's bliss 😂

JB2021 · 24/03/2023 14:49

Still waiting for baby to arrive, was due 21st.

I'm currently run/walking still. I know I won't be able to run until AT LEAST 6 weeks after birth but could I walk 5k after and if so how soon? Will obv seek medical advice too

TeddyBeans · 24/03/2023 15:44

@JB2021 you're not supposed to do anything too strenuous until your lochia gets to the third (creamy) stage as it can hinder you uterus' recovery. It's very easy to overdo it when you feel okay but your body will soon tell you it's not coping

OP posts:
JB2021 · 24/03/2023 15:48

@TeddyBeans does that include a walk?

TeddyBeans · 24/03/2023 15:55

@JB2021 it can do yes, I was doing normal walks to my son's school 10 minutes up the road from the day after I have birth and even that was too much some days. I'm 3 weeks pp now and practically back to normal but it depends on the individual

OP posts:
JB2021 · 24/03/2023 15:56

@TeddyBeans thank you. FTM so it's all new to me. I'm still walking and run/walking at least 3 miles at the moment at 40+3

OP posts:
JB2021 · 24/03/2023 16:00

@TeddyBeans thank you! The route I will do for my first 5k back is a 2 loop one so ideal as I can drop out but it will be a walk defo not running till I've had my 6 week check

TeddyBeans · 24/03/2023 16:05

@JB2021 as long as you're sensible about it and listen to your body I'm sure you'll be back to maximum capacity in no time 😊

OP posts:
dmb91 · 24/03/2023 16:11

@JB2021 my bladder would not cope with a three mile walk! Or do you have a route that passes lots of toilets?

JB2021 · 24/03/2023 16:12

@dmb91 no toilets. Fine on a walk. On a run/walk I go to the toilet just before I start and am ready to go when I finish (50 mins but obv more movement)

Dreamingof3 · 24/03/2023 16:35

I don't know how anyone runs in pregnancy 😂 absolute hero's
I went for a coffee and the food shop today and it was definitely too much for me (all I did was push the pram!) So listening to my body and not doing anything tomorrow (except our day 5 appt at the hosp)
