Hey all! Gosh I feel for those of you who are passed their due date. I’ve had a rough week now I’m nearly 40 weeks as just feel so uncomfortable and fed up. I go in for my c section tomorrow morning and can’t quite believe it.

Just been in for a scan and they say she’s weighing bang on 8lb so we’ll see what clothes she fits into tomorrow - a lot of my newborn clothes says only up to 7.8lb so may be too small.

Got to go back to hospital at 2pm to get my pre op medication and do blood tests. Then tonight it’ll be just me and my partner at home twiddling our thumbs. He’s completely new to being a parent whereas I had twins 10 years ago so it does feel new but I am at least used to being a mum. Not enjoying his “it’ll be easy” thoughts when he has no idea but I’ll let him do the first meconium nappy himself and then see how he feels 🤣

Hi ladies, im feeling very much the same as some of you. Due date was 25th. Ive been having lots of tightenings in lower stomach and lower back but then they just stop and don't progress, worsen or get regular! I lost my mucus plug on Saturday, so so much of it. Thought I had wet myself 🫣 thought things might progress from that but nothing. 0 sleep last night and now ive slept on off all morning, stomach cramps and absolutely 0 energy!

I hope sweeps/c sections go ok for everyone. I can see how msgs off everyone is annoying, ive been getting them for over a month but really felt the pressure and emotion from it on Saturday (due date!) xxx

@SleepySlumber my little girl was 8lb8 and is fitting in newborn so there's definitely some wiggle room on what weights they say

Oh good to know as we had a load of newborn that would be a shame to not get to use.
Just had to sit for 2 hours waiting for my pre op bloods to be done - had the worst braxton hicks ever. Finally all done now just have to fast late tonight and then hopefully be smooth sailing from here (I hope.)

@SleepySlumber I only got a few second hand bits in newborn because I had no idea what size to expect...my other 2 were 10lb5 and 7lb7 😂

Had my first sweep this morning, favourable cervix with a bishop score of 8. Next sweep on Thursday afternoon then I assume induction will be booked if baby isn't here.
I had a lovely midwife today, never seen her before. She explained that because my bishop score was high induction would only involve having my waters broken which has calmed me right down! I was super worried about ending up with a 5 day induction.
@JB2021 were you told what your bishop score was?
Also sick of the random people checking up on me! And the people who seem worried that baby might be here already and we've just not told them (like FIL) 🙄

@dmb91 she didn't tell me the Bishop score and don't think it's in my notes. Was 1cm dilated. She said cervix was soft not hard.

Sweep was by a different midwife last Tuesday. Saw usual midwife on Thursday and she didn't mention it.

From the first sweep things seemed positive but not its just got me disheartened especially with an unexpected call from hospital telling me I'm booked for induction on Sunday. Do have another sweep booked for Thursday though.

Eeek hi all I’m heading into my c section in a few mins. 😬 Feeling very nervous but excited - can’t believe I have a baby that’s going to be here soon

After spending a week in hospital, 3 days being induced, 3 days waiting to have my waters broken and 1 day to recover after my C-section......

We are finally came home yesterday with our beautiful daughter 🎉

Last night was a success and today she has BF like an angel. But why can't I stop worrying about 'is she too hot?' 'do we need another layer?' I have googled a lot today about layers and how many a newborn should be wearing. Anyone else do this?

@BabyTalbot1 congratulations 🥰 I can't believe they let you go 6 days before they intervened, that's bonkers! Generally it's safer for them to be slightly too cool than too hot but you can get what to wear guides online, I'll see if I can find a good one in a mo. Little miss is generally in a vest and then whatever outfit (usually a dress) but I'm a bit blase about things like that. It's easy to chuck a cardi on them if they start whinging about being too cold 😊

My beautiful darcy was born at 11am at a chunky 8lb2oz! She is so beautiful 🥰

I think its still pretty even on the number of girls vs boys so far, from births that have been announced anyway, there’s quite a few haven’t seen anything from! Seeing everyone’s beautiful babies is keeping me going(although a bit hard at the same time as mine still hasn’t come yet) I just love a baby I’m one of those people who has to try really hard not to go up to somebody with one 🙈😆I wonder if a newborn baby cuddle could help mine come along!! 😆xx

@AK93 when are/were you due?

I was due last Tuesday and had baby cuddles on Thursday with a baby from one of my NCT group. Defo felt mine move at the time I was holding baby!

Due date was the 19th so 41+2 now.
Mine has moved when looking at pictures of girl babies, well, twice - I see it as him trying to flirt already 😆 the other day he did it and I said to him well if you want to meet her you’d have to actually come out!!
I may have to seek a baby to cuddle! It probably would help with the happy hormones at least! I might not want to give them back though haha and a bit of a strange request to ask really isn’t it 🙈xx

@AK93 similar due dates then. I keep thinking this is it, but nothing ever comes of it.

2nd sweep Thursday then induction Sunday. Really really hoping I don't get to sunday.

Not sure what else I can do though......I've been walking and running for the last 9 months so the whole keep moving thing isn't going to cut it!

Am enjoying the cuddles but struggling with getting baby to sleep in her cot - I know others have mentioned this. If anyone has any tips let me know. Also did I see there was a FB group? And is there also a baby thread somewhere on here?

You're definitely not alone with baby not wanting to sleep in cot etc, think it's been mentioned quite a bit on the fb group. And obviously very normal as baby doesn't know different to being in a womb! I don't know how I'll deal with it when it's my turn I've wondered whether something with breastmilk on it would fool into thinking they're on you and thought maybe it's possible to record your own heartbeat to play to them 😆xx

@JB2021 I've pretty much had no signs of being anywhere near ready the only difference is feeling pressure more in the middle of pelvis rather than just on one side but I'd think likely his position as I had same feeling on left side multiple times. Midwife said his head was fixed still only marking it as 3/5 though.

You've been ridiculously active considering and I am starting to question if anything does actually make a difference or if it is just all down to luck and individuals and when body/baby is naturally ready! Lol xx

@AK93 thanks. I'm getting less active now just cos I can't be bothered. Although I did wonder about spending as much time as possible on the treadmill tomorrow but the downside is ill be shattered!

I know it's safe to do but hasn't appealed to me given my bump but even considering sex just to see if it works!
