@VictoriaBlossom i just googled a V class 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 you planning on doing the school run for the kids of the entire estate ? 😂😅😂😅 that thing is a bus I’m LOL …
my boobs are the same and have huge blue veins 😂😅 …

ok so I LOVE the Egg2 in Mink or the iCandy in truffle 🤞🤍 so far that’s my 2 choices - but that may change in a few months! I saw a girl walking my estate earlier and I think she had a greenish Egg and it looked fab. I don’t think I’ll stick to black.
you?

mariamari · 31/03/2023 16:56

Hi dears, I’ve struggled a bit with this group (generally feel ignored whenever I share/ask for support). I know it’s not personal & so I wish everyone here a beautiful healthy journey over these coming months. It’s been good to know I’ve not been alone in many of the experiences I have had. With much love x

monsteramunch · 31/03/2023 16:59

@mariamari

Sorry you've had that experience lovely, I'm a relative newbie here and I know that sometimes if there's a flurry of messages it can feel a bit tough if yours are missed, I've been there too on occasions. Think it's just timing sometimes! If you want to stick around at all then I'm here and if not then I wish you all the best in the coming months Flowers

Needtobuildabridge · 31/03/2023 16:59

For those looking at costing up the big buys, Mamas and Papas have a cool thing. If you book one of their talks (30mins, 60mins or 90mins) they'll go through products and answer any questions you have. Then, once you buy your stuff, you get 10-15% back as a voucher. Might help some people ☺️

@EMcG3 yes, that's what I thought. My only issue is space in the house and I know they'll outgrow a bassinet quickly. Don't want to get anything that I won't use a lot. But if daily use even for just 3 months it's probably worth having. Plus ours will be small babies in winter 🥺 and bassinets look much cosier than just the pram structure lying flat.

@VictoriaBlossom def don't want black or dark colours! I was eyeing the taupe or blue of the yoyo. I wouldn't mind getting it second hand, although most are collection only, which is a pain

NSx · 31/03/2023 17:03

@mariamari there are a lot of people in this thread and it’s quite fast paced so I think at times messages can be missed, I certainly don’t manage to read all the messages at times myself.
I hope you are ok 🤍 and If you need anything please feel free to message me privately I’m more than happy to chat 💕 like @monsteramunch said, if you feel like you might want to stick around we would love to have you. Wishing you all the best 💓💓💓

@Needtobuildabridge this is great, thanks so much for the advice I will look into it as I’ve been into the m&p store and they have so many wonderful things 😍 x

Alexandra07 · 31/03/2023 17:18

@mariamari sometimes I don't manage to read all the messages and others I just can't answer the questions. We are here for you if you want to stay a bit longer.

Regarding prams, you need a carrycot until baby is around 6 months because they can't support themselves and have to lay flat. Unless you use a baby sling.

We bought a cosatto pram that could fit in my small boot. I was very happy with it, parents in law paid, it was less than 1000. But my baby didn't fit on the carrycot at 5/6 months! It was on the short side!

Nothing wrong with buying second hand, our pram is in a very good condition but I would try it first to check if there are any issues, e.g. Condition of wheels, if the brakes work, if it collapses without issues.

Ss32 · 31/03/2023 17:23

We have the Bugaboo Fox 2 so will be using that again. My LO would scream blue murder in the carrycot attachment so it barely got used at all. I guess we’ll need a buggy board!

VictoriaBlossom · 31/03/2023 18:01

@NSx I know I have an a1 but I much prefer big cars and vans. Only got the a1 as short term as expected my golf to arrive 12 months ago ha!

I am such a goth, only want black 😂 my MIL bought SIL a ickle bubba khaki green travel system with a tan handle..... I really really liked that. But I feel like ickle bubba doesn't seem to hold its value?

Is anyone going to the baby shows (the lidl sponsored one)

Alexandra07 · 31/03/2023 18:06

Baby shows! I forgot to mention, I bought my pram from a baby show, they had a good offer and gave us for free the carseat adaptors worth £30. I managed to get free tickets through Emma's diary. If I go to a baby show it will be after 20 weeks. I don't want to buy things too early, in case something happens.

LaVitesse2022 · 31/03/2023 18:08

@VictoriaBlossom tan handles look really sophisticated, I'm also a fan!

I went to the baby show at the ExCel in London a month ago or so. Obviously it was super early soo I felt a bit out of place amongst all the mamas with large bellies 😄 It was far too early to purchase things like cots or prams so I just browsed. Ended up buying a set of cloth nappies for a really good price as something I've wanted to use when I had a baby. But I can see a baby show in the second half of your pregnancy can be really useful as lots of brands to test and good discounts

monsteramunch · 31/03/2023 18:16

Aah so annoying the recent show was too early for me but the October one is a week after our due date!

VictoriaBlossom · 31/03/2023 18:22

I've just ordered tickets to the NEC one.
Code TT25
Got a health kit, and 2 tickets for £26.24 which works out good value when rrp for the tickets is £16/18

@VictoriaBlossom im defo going for a non black, but I believe black is very practical. As for holding value I don’t have a clue 😂😅😂😅 …

I’d be terrified driving a van 😂😂😂😂 … maybe wait and see how you feel about your car in a few months. Is it too late to send the golf back? why’s it taking so long, due to the chip?

NSx · 31/03/2023 18:23

Ps- baby shows 😂 I’m such a novice didn’t even know there was such a thing 😂

VictoriaBlossom · 31/03/2023 18:27

@NSx I'll keep the golf and flog it when it comes. What I've paid from 2021 compared to the current prices has a decent swing and I have a spec that is currently not available. It's the chips that delayed it, had heated steering wheel, upgraded interior, audio player and the decent speakers with a subwoofer.

Yeah it's all very much in the air, weirdly I enjoy my a1, incredible MPG and I do 25,000 business miles so getting 45p/25p is a lovely benefit when achieving 57-60mpg which of course I won't get in a van or big car.

I find the advice on babies is really confusing, where does an expectant mum find out the right things about babies? I don't wanna keep asking my mum stuff?

VictoriaBlossom · 31/03/2023 18:31

@monsteramunch there's a couple of shows I believe, one is a baby and toddler show? Is that worth looking if the dates work for you?

Ss32 · 31/03/2023 18:38

Ahhhh I feel a bit sad now that this is baby 2 and we already have everything, I want to do the exciting shopping again 😂
All I need is a new breast pump, possibly a new Moses basket and some sort of baby chair. I really need to get into using a wrap/sling this time too!

NSx · 31/03/2023 18:38

@VictoriaBlossom that’s good. Hopefully you can make some money on it atleast. 🤞 …
nobody knows I’m pregnant so I just Google stuff 😂😂😂😂😂

AlongcameLainey · 31/03/2023 18:48

I think I must be the complete opposite to you all suffering with constipation. Vitamin D, iron and any pregnancy supplements give me such an awful tummy for some reason so I’m suffering in the opposite way the majority of the time 😓

Counting down the days until my scan on Thursday and trying to be patient but it’s so hard!

NSx · 31/03/2023 18:58

@AlongcameLainey im jealous 😅😂 I thought I was going to die on Sunday night because I couldn’t go 😩😩😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

Alexandra07 · 31/03/2023 19:00

@VictoriaBlossom I found Facebook groups e.g. for breastfeeding very informative, nct sessions and nct friends, children's centres and health visitors, first aid sessions, and Google! Unfortunately there isn't a book with instructions you receive once you have a baby! I wish there was! And a lot of information has changed since our mums had a baby, e.g. guidance about rear facing car seats, baby led weaning, cot bumpers, jumperoos, etc.

EMcG3 · 31/03/2023 19:50

Instead of a moses basket we had a (built for purpose) cardboard box with a mattress in the bottom. It worked well and was recyclable but we kept the mattress for this time around. A friend gave it to us, it is something that I think the Finnish government gives out to promote safe sleeping (babies not sleeping on couches). For us it was a good, cheep, functional alternative to a moses basket for the ~4 months until we were comfortable with her sleeping in her cot in another room. Was definitely a bit weird that our baby spent a lot of her time in a cardboard box, but moses baskets weren't well rated by friends and we thought out box was great.

EMcG3 · 31/03/2023 20:00

Oh, seems like they are called baby boxes and are free in Scotland.

redavocado · 31/03/2023 20:18

LaVitesse2022 · 31/03/2023 15:54

@NSx I know, I want to get the 12 week scan first before properly looking!

@redavocado yes I'm in London! That's really helpful to know. The yoyo had been the first I looked at so might be worth a revisit. Are you thinking of getting the bassinet or not worth it?

Almost definitely because they aren't parent facing otherwise. The bugaboo bee is and that's definitely an advantage. It may come down to what's being sold on my local parents groups because the yoyo in particular is shockingly expensive!
