@SillyOldBear3 yes I’ve been having them but my iron is low, did all your bloods come back okay? They’ve put me on iron tablets and they are reducing. I were 12 weeks yesterday !

Also ladies my absolute drink craving is fizzy LUCOZADE please don’t judge 🙈 I need another refreshing drink to swap to as I know it’s not good for me at all. Any ideas?

This is mine too! I've never been interested in the fizzy one before but it's just the best and if I feel slightly icky I have one and I'm Instantly fine!

I've just had a week away with me DD who will be 3 in June and no longer naps! It was just the two of us whilst DH was working! My word it was hard work I'm just glad I've been feeling a little better recently!

Also got my 12 weeks scan appointment through, I think I posted about that already. It's 12th April... I can't wait for DH to see our little baby on screen 😍

LaVitesse2022 · 31/03/2023 15:01

@NSx I have! 😅 It's mostly because I'll need one that fits the tube, trains and buses easily and is lightweight. I won't need a car seat as we don't have a car but I'm considering getting one for travelling abroad and to/from airport (grandparents are abroad and I'm already anticipating several trips). If so it needs to be one that easily fits any car. So I'm torn about whether it's best to get a travel system or if not worth it if no need for car seat on daily basis (there are not many travel systems that fit all requirements above).

It sounds like you're in London like me. I had a travel system for DD1 and it was completely pointless. We lived on the edge of zone 2 and didn't have a car! Even with a car this time round, I'm planning to replace it with a yoyo or a bee. Back then I was adamant I didn't want to follow the crowd and get a yoyo but there is a reason everyone here has them!

Ss32 · 31/03/2023 15:28

Finally managed to have my scan today. Baby was measuring even bigger this time and they’ve pushed me forward again to 14+3, I’m a bit worried baby is going to be born gigantic! All is well though and baby was a real wriggler! Unfortunately because I’m so far along they couldn’t do the combined testing which I wanted

NSx · 31/03/2023 15:40

@LaVitesse2022 I live in Glasgow so definitely have been looking at travel systems! 😅😂 tbh I’m torn between an egg2 and an Icandy 😩 I’m getting way ahead of myself as I haven’t even had my 12 week scan 😂😂😂😅😅😅
I do think car seats are handy tbh, but depends on what you’ll be using it for I suppose 😅

Needtobuildabridge · 31/03/2023 15:42

@NSx We've got our entire list planned 🙈 Pram, cot, nursery furniture etc.

I do like a good list.... 😂

cruciverbalista · 31/03/2023 15:44

We'll be taking inventory after my scan next week-- sister-in-law seems to have bought EVERYTHING for her baby 3 years ago and is happy for us to use it (hopefully we don't decide to have our second kids at the same time!!).

LaVitesse2022 · 31/03/2023 15:54

@NSx I know, I want to get the 12 week scan first before properly looking!

@redavocado yes I'm in London! That's really helpful to know. The yoyo had been the first I looked at so might be worth a revisit. Are you thinking of getting the bassinet or not worth it?

NSx · 31/03/2023 15:58

@Needtobuildabridge glad to know it’s not just me losing the plot 😂😂😂 and other people are doing it too haha…

@cruciverbalista that’s really handy and nice of her to offer. We haven’t told anyone we’re pregnant yet as we’re waiting on our NIPT results coming back and haven’t had our 12 week scan yet 🤞

@LaVitesse2022 I used to work as an air hostess and I noticed all the mums had yo-yos as they are easy to store to travel with and very practical 🤞

my in-laws always said they would buy us a pram so I’m looking forward to that 😂😅

VictoriaBlossom · 31/03/2023 16:08

@NSx
Yes, I currently drive an Audi a1 so a weeeenie boot. So thinking of having a doona car seat pram for generic car needs in my car.
Unless my boyfriend gets allowed staff discount on a Mercedes and then I'll get something bigger.
Chosen a venicci travel system, I really don't like the idea of a pram having the baby facing the other way. Maybe it's just me? But so many face the other way.
But fell over when I priced it up and it's £1250 😂

Is anyone buying their pram second hand?

cruciverbalista · 31/03/2023 16:13

@NSx Yeah, we told my family the minute we found out as we have an upcoming holiday with them that I thought might be compromised. Then we had to tell the ILs of course. But most of my immediate network knows-- I wouldn't have been able to hide it (going green all the time) and wanted some people to lean on if things didn't go as hoped. I commend your ability to keep a secret though!

NSx · 31/03/2023 16:23

@VictoriaBlossom I have a Mercedes and so does my OH so we’re quite fortunate we have decent sized boots and I even have an electric button which is my fave feature of my car 😂😂😂😂 I’m literally overjoyed by this button and how handy it is even when I come home with big bags or groceries 😂😂😂😂 my best friend has an Audi a1 she lives in London though so it’s perfect for her nipping about🤍 I did look at the doona I saw molly Mae had one and it looked pretty handy tbh, looks like a good choice!
yes the prams I priced are about £1K aswell luckily I’m not paying for it 😂🤞🤞 I just need to reign it in a bit and get past my 12 week mark 😂😂😂
how are u feeling have u been sick again!?

@cruciverbalista i had to endure a day out/concert sober with 5 of my best friends drinking and lied to them telling them I had a kidney infection and couldn’t drink. 😂😂 I have basically avoided everyone else since too 😂 and the nausea is hard to hide at work but I’m managing 😅😅😅 I can’t wait to tell people when I know things are ok, cos my skin is bloody awful ☹️😅

Koalawhala · 31/03/2023 16:27

Talking of cars…is anyone expecting no.3 and thinking they’ll have to change cars before baby is born?! Would like to keep mine but there is no iso fix in the middle and it would probably be a squash in the back.
Sorry, know it’s super early to be thinking about this!

Koalawhala · 31/03/2023 16:30

Also, my urine sample infection turned out to be an asymptomatic UTI (v. common in pregnancy apparently) and I should still take antibiotics. Seems strange as I have no symptoms. Now I just have to try and get hold of the right antibiotics while on holiday 😕

NSx · 31/03/2023 16:31

@Koalawhala I don’t know many cars that have iso fix in the middle tbh but I could be wrong.
my OH has a 2 door 😂😂😂 and luckily mine is 4 so we don’t drastically have to change his immediately however I don’t know how to get a car seat in and also a baby in and out 2 doors? 😂😂😅😅😅

NSx · 31/03/2023 16:31

@Koalawhala this happened to me when I had to get a swab at the hospital, it was absolutely fine in the end 🤞

EMcG3 · 31/03/2023 16:39

@VictoriaBlossom Yes, I have a used pram for my eldest. Works a treat, never had any issues with it being used. Also, if you get a good brand (I have a yo-yo but I'm sure it is not unique in this sense) they maintain their resale value well so you can re-sell for not a significant amount less than you bought it for, if it is in good condition in the end. I would say that my yo-yo looks pretty rough after daily use for 3 years, though.

@LaVitesse2022 - if you don't want to buy a bassinet, your pram needs to lay very close to flat. Babies don't have the neck strength to sit upright, or even near upright, until I think maybe 3 or 6 months old. I tried to get away without one and was sternly told I could not by a very practical maternity nurse.

VictoriaBlossom · 31/03/2023 16:41

@NSx well, I had some morning sickness on Wednesday!!!! How bloody brilliant is that.

But that's about it, no blood, which is also great.
(Thank you for asking ❤️)
Boyfriend has a special boot opening button that's powered in his Audi but I just don't think it's a mum car. It's like 500 bhp and asbo loud. I'll stick with my little a1....
I ordered a new golf in 2021, it's supposedly in build now but now I'm having a baby, and we have the dog, I don't know if I wanna keep a 40 grand golf that will get trashed.
I'd rather put the money towards a new bathroom in the new house.

Koalawhala · 31/03/2023 16:44

Thanks @NSx. Did you take the antibiotics to clear it up?

NSx · 31/03/2023 16:44

@VictoriaBlossom cant believe you’re actually happy about being sick 😅😂😂😂 it’s literally ruining my life daily, but I’m happy for you 😂🤞🤍 so glad the bleeding episode is done too, it’s nice to hear things are nice and calm for you.
ooooh that sounds great, but I understand you might not want to put a dog and baby into a brand new car 😂😂😂 I’ve seen my friends cars with their kids, soggy crisps and biscuits 😅😂😩
I think it’s sensible to maybe change your car to something a bit bigger if you require but maybe wait and see how u get on with your Audi.
my friend had her baby in a mini all the time and was absolutely fine 🤞🤍
I had a mini as my first ever car and honestly it was my first love 😂🤍🤍 I loved the size of it, I reckon I could have managed with one now, so maybe just make sure your pram folds down to fit in your boot & you are good to go x

NSx · 31/03/2023 16:45

@Koalawhala yes I literally got a call from my Gp to say the midwives had requested an antibiotic for me, they didn’t even tell me what infection I had 😂😂😂😂 and I didn’t have any symptoms at all: Don’t worry honestly x

Koalawhala · 31/03/2023 16:47

@NSx that car situation does sound challenging! my DH has had similar, good excuse to not have the kids in the car making a mess 😂. Useless when he actually did need to pick them up though

NSx · 31/03/2023 16:51

@Koalawhala 😂😂😂🤣 MEN 😂😅

VictoriaBlossom · 31/03/2023 16:52

@NSx that's the issue, I don't know what will fold flat. It's so tiny.

But I proper fancy a Mercedes V Class so I get the comfyness of a merc and the sliding doors for easy access (deffo not because I'm forcing my boyfriend to use his staff discount on a mum van) 😂😂😂

I just wanted some comfort in knowing my hormones were there with a pregnancy. And when I have sickness I know I'm still preg. My nipples have gone about 4 shades darker, my boobs are like smooth massive round things as well. So know I'm still flowing with hormones that way at least.

What pram colours are you going for you recon?
