@Hopefulx I had flu when I was about 7 weeks and it was terrible. I think if you have a temp it can sometimes affect the baby (i read that online) because its your change in body temp (like going in a jacuzzi) but I’ve had scans since and everything was fine.
Just take some paracetamol as soon as your temp is high just to bring it down.

It was actually really frustrating because online it says if you are pregnant and your temp is higher than 38° speak to your GP or call 111. So I called my GP and they said take paracetamol which is what i was already doing.
They make you panic saying it’s dangerous but they don’t do anything about it.
i’m sure you’ll be totally fine, my symptoms started to slow down about 8 weeks and i’ve been so concerned but after my scan yesterday which was 10 weeks the little bean is really active with a strong heartbeat. Its so easy to panic and worry because alot of things are out of our control xxx

@CBCB23CB I am so so sorry lovely. I don't know what to say except surround yourself with loved ones and wishing you all the healing you need 💕

Summer022 · 30/03/2023 10:30

After struggling for about three weeks, I have woken up this morning with absolutely no sickness or nausea whatsoever 🫣 this is driving me nuts. The not knowing and fluctuating symptoms. My sense of smell seems to have settled down too literally overnight as just last night I was gagging into the toilet. Symptoms (or lack of) can drive us crazy can’t they 😖 Still have ever so slightly sore nipples, but the sickness has gone. I’m nearly 11 weeks so would this be normal? Have anyone else experienced symptoms settle down at this point? I can’t ask any of my friends about it as I’m the first one to be pregnant 🤣

PeopleAreToads · 30/03/2023 11:12

@Summer022 I'm 11 weeks today and been having the same for the last week or so, apparently it's normal at this stage as the placenta begins to take over. My symptoms seems to ease for just long enough to worry, then come back

Koalawhala · 30/03/2023 11:28

So sorry for your bad news @CB23CB . Take care xx

Alexandra07 · 30/03/2023 11:34

@CB23CB I am so sorry, please take care of yourself!

@Hopefulx I was unwell with a virus in my first pregnancy, didn't affect at all the baby.

LR94 · 30/03/2023 11:42

@CB23CB really sorry to hear that, thinking of you, please take care ❤️❤️

Saturnsmoon · 30/03/2023 11:43

So sorry @CB23CB sending you love and light

LaVitesse2022 · 30/03/2023 11:51

Really sorry to hear this @CB23CB , I hope you have loving support around you and time to heal x

LaVitesse2022 · 30/03/2023 11:54

@Summer022 my symptoms started to ease a week ago or so (I'm 11+4), although I didn't have sickness but the fatigue is less pronounced and super sense of smell has disappeared. As others have said it's normal as the placenta starts to take over and you're no longer as flooded with hormones as before

Hopefulx · 30/03/2023 13:27

@CB23CB so sorry, sending you lots of love 🫶🏼

ttcttc · 30/03/2023 15:47

Just got my scan through and I'll be 13.5 week by the time I have it. Seems like forever away 😤

firstlittlefrazzleontheway · 30/03/2023 15:53

I had my 12 week scan today. Everything was perfect and I'm actually measuring ahead of what I thought moving my due date to October 11th🥰

@firstlittlefrazzleontheway oh amazing! 😍Such great news!

Can I ask those who had their 12 week scans if we get told about the screening results during it or is that something that comes a few days later?

SnookyPook · 30/03/2023 16:05

@CB23CB so so sorry my lovely. Sending lots of love your way. 😞💕

Summer022 · 30/03/2023 16:07

@firstlittlefrazzleontheway oh how lovely! That’s fab news.

SnookyPook · 30/03/2023 16:07

@LaVitesse2022 in my first pregnancy they came back within a week I think. They can tell you nuchal measurement straight away but then the other things take a bit more time. Although I think they usually say that if any anomalies are found you get a phone call within 48hrs..? This is from memory of 3 years ago though so hopefully some of those who've gone through it more recently can update you too!

SnookyPook · 30/03/2023 16:08

@firstlittlefrazzleontheway ah so lovely! Congrats! Did the due date change by much? X

firstlittlefrazzleontheway · 30/03/2023 16:09

@LaVitesse2022 they told me today that they were happy with the neck measurements, then I had my bloods taken and I was told if anything showed on the bloods someone would call me within a week otherwise I would get results in a letter in around 2 weeks

firstlittlefrazzleontheway · 30/03/2023 16:10

@SnookyPook it changed by 5 days but it's put me further than I thought which means not as long to wait until due date

monsteramunch · 30/03/2023 16:13

Ah it's so lovely seeing scan pictures, congrats!

Just had my scan date through and it's not til 13th April when I'll be 13+3.

Feels ages away but time seems to be flying at the moment so just have to crack on!

Told a few more people today which has felt nice, especially as one has just had their last baby for good and has said we can have whatever we want of theirs when it comes to baby stuff!

SnookyPook · 30/03/2023 16:17

@monsteramunch ah that's great! So useful having generous friends with conveniently timed newborns! Hehe. Still awaiting my scan date here but suspect it will be around a similar sort of time. Time is going kind of fast slow at the moment haha.

@firstlittlefrazzleontheway ah that's nice. Also means 20wk scan will come round sooner! 😁

Hopefulx · 30/03/2023 16:34

@firstlittlefrazzleontheway congratulations, beautiful pic 🫶🏼

I had my scan earlier after catching the flu and everything was normal. The little nugget was bouncing like they were on a trampoline doing summersalts! They put me 3 days ahead than I thought, I made it 11 weeks today and they dated me as 11+3.

@LaVitesse2022 Hi, my scan they said if high results i'd have a phone call within 3 days, if low risk a letter within 2 weeks but the letter actually came the week which was such a relief!

SnookyPook · 30/03/2023 16:56

Ah lovely pic @Hopefulx ! So glad they were looking well! Haha they must have such fun in there at this stage with nothing to do except bounce around in all that space 😆
