@ttcttc Not at all, happy to share my experience at least.. As its my first, I can't say too much! Public is very good as far as I know, I was just advised to go private for a number of reasons. Private definitely far superior care and reassurance. I am 11+2 and heading to meet my consultant for my fourth appointment since 6 weeks! Public sounds very similar to NHS, very good service but overrun unfortunately.

Oh so they do see you more often at least!

Klex · 28/03/2023 18:34

Had my first scan today and due date adjusted from Oct 8 to Oct 11 (knew it would be as cycles are very long)

BeaKind · 28/03/2023 18:36

@Summer022 @VictoriaBlossom Another one here on the sofa, under a blanket and feeling rubbish. My stomach has felt so unsettled today 🤢 I just don’t want to move! __The idea of a bowl of sweet corn or mash sounds lovely though!

VictoriaBlossom · 28/03/2023 18:39

@BeaKind I'm grateful for the 8 episodes of MAFS Australia I need to catch up on.
Lit the fire and blanket coziness. Sending love to you, this is short term ❤️

Elttek · 28/03/2023 18:57

LaVitesse2022 · 28/03/2023 17:08

@Elttek are you based in the UK? If not this won't be helpful for you but might be for others: my scan letter, blood results and 16 weeks appt notification all came online. This is despite midwife saying I'd receive a letter in the post with info on next dates. It'll probably vary by trust, but mine uses the DrDoctor app for the scan letters and the Patient Knows Best portal for test results and appointment notifications. I suggest registering to access those records or checking which online portals your trust uses. If you already have an NHS login you can use that to access those apps.

I'm in Wales so it's NHS Wales, I've not heard of anything being online before, so
I'm not sure we're quite that advanced here yet! hahah.
I'm going to text the midwife tomorrow if nothing comes through the post in the morning..

cruciverbalista · 28/03/2023 18:59

@VictoriaBlossom Dog and MAFS sounds like the IDEAL night to me right now!! I'm still working but maybe I will put MAFS on anyway :)
@Elttek Definitely call your midwife, mine had to chase for me.

BeaKind · 28/03/2023 19:31

@VictoriaBlossom oh I love MAFS! Got hooked on it when we were in Australia a few years ago. Haven’t watched any of this series yet 😱

BeaKind · 28/03/2023 19:32

@cruciverbalista if you’re still working at 7pm you’re definitely allowed a little MAFS 😝

BeaKind · 28/03/2023 19:42

Oh no. I’ve just had some light pink blood when wiping. Now I’m thinking the not feeling well and this means bad news.

DancingNancies · 28/03/2023 19:46

@Summer022 I had 2 cups of tea in about 3 hours this morning and it made me vomit. Then ate a family sized bag of crisps and felt much better- I'm trying to be healthy but this baby isn't having it! 🤦‍♀

@katherine123x all my NHS scans (previous pregnancies) have allowed 1 extra adult and that's all, but my sister could take her kids in at another fairly local hospital so think it varies.

Not sure if you've got your scan appt letter but it usually says on there if you're not allowed - might be worth checking if not though, just in case!

SillyOldBear3 · 28/03/2023 19:46

@BeaKind oh no, how stressful. Please don't assume the worst though, spotting is really common and usually it's nothing to worry about. My SIL had spotting through both her pregnancies and all was completely fine. Call EPU for a reassurance scan, and have plenty of rest this evening xxx

LR94 · 28/03/2023 19:48

I’ve just had a lot of bleeding, thought i’d wet myself!! I called EPAS but they are closed so currently sat in A&E, so unbelievable nervous

cruciverbalista · 28/03/2023 19:48

@BeaKind I work 1230-9 which has its pros and cons. I was exactly where you are last night -- apparently it's so common, my mom said it has to do with the placenta starting to take over. Worth ringing the midwife though and they can hopefully do you a reassurance scan asap as they did me xx

cruciverbalista · 28/03/2023 19:50

@LR94 well done for getting it checked out straight away, I hope you get good news very soon Flowers

SillyOldBear3 · 28/03/2023 20:01

@LR94 keeping absolutely everything crossed for you ❤️ xxx

monsteramunch · 28/03/2023 20:04

@LR94

Thinking of you and have everything crossed for you Flowers

LaVitesse2022 · 28/03/2023 20:06

@LR94 keeping my fingers crossed for you, hope you get reassurance very soon x

THISISIT23 · 28/03/2023 20:13

@LR94 thinking off you hope you get positive news soon xxx

VictoriaBlossom · 28/03/2023 20:15

@LR94 everything crossed for you 💐 you've done the right thing to go straight to a&e. Keep us posted, hope it's not stinky and filled with stinky people

BeaKind · 28/03/2023 20:15

@LR94 thinking of you and hoping everything is ok. X

Chanteuse · 28/03/2023 20:19

@LR94 thinking of you 💐

I’m just home from a 12.5hr day 😮‍💨 my legs are absolutely killing! Now I’m 12 weeks though I feel more comfortable telling people, I’ll tell the wider circle once I’ve had my scan next mon.

iloveeggs · 28/03/2023 20:23

@LR94 Thinking of you xx

DancingNancies · 28/03/2023 20:44

@LR94 @BeaKind keeping my fingers crossed for good news for you both ❤️

VictoriaBlossom · 28/03/2023 21:17

@BeaKind don't worry too much about a wipe of pink, I felt horrific Friday, and had bad cramps and everything was fine. Try and chill, my midwife said rest and it is very normal between 9 and 12 weeks to have a bit of blood wipes.
Go to a&e if you do get to a point where you're too stressed or uncomfortable xx sending love

Alexandra07 · 28/03/2023 22:06

@BeaKind @LR94 I am thinking of you 🌻we should just be able to relax at this stage, not get stressed.

Are there any pregnancy vitamins like pregnacare that actually smaller in size?

I find it hard to swallow them with the nausea I have. And even the idea of drinking 1 litre of water for my scan makes me gag, not sure I can do this... Did you all have 1 litre before your scan? Will I get away with half a little? I am size 14 if belly size makes a difference!
