12 week scan today, first on the public system. She was wriggling away in there - she's going to kick me black and blue when I can feel it! 😁

Oh @OrionNebula what a gorgeous picture! Flowers

LaVitesse2022 · 27/03/2023 19:54

Woof, a lot of messages to catch up to, what a bunch of prolific writers we are! 😄

@DmcinT wow what a huge surprise that must've been! Can't imagine the shock when you saw them! Congrats, I'm sure it'll be hard and joyful in equal measures!

@OrionNebula what a great scan picture! 😍

Great to see people going for their 12 week scan, such a milestone! I have mine on Sunday at 8.30 which feels a bit cruel 😂 But at least I won't dwell on it during the day! I'll be bang on 12 weeks. I had a scan at 7 weeks so feeling a bit anxious that so much time has passed and not knowing if still all OK. Haven't had any sickness and barely any nausea, I've rather been ravenous and tired, which have been my main symptoms.

iloveeggs · 27/03/2023 20:05

So good to see all the scan pics, congrats to all ❤

I got prescribed Cariban and Valoid today so hoping the sickness will go soon. Although I think the Valoid completely knocked me out earlier, slept for like 5 hours after taking it 😴I feel drunk off them.

DancingNancies · 27/03/2023 20:35

@Summer022 I think I'm going to have to tell work this week.
Like @Alexandra07 I teach, and we get our new timetables in May for the following year and a bit - so I worry they'll keep me with all my exam groups then I'll end up abandoning them around October half term of y11 for a maternity cover teacher which wouldn't be ideal!
At least if my boss knows she can do the new timetable with that in mind and if I end up with a bunch of lower year groups then so be it!

Smiffette · 27/03/2023 20:38

With my first I really thought it was a boy, cravings, based on old wives tales, pointed to boy! DH and I were so shocked it was a girl.

Everything seems the same on that front, cravings and feeling that it's a boy... so I'm really intrigued to know what it is.

I got my "12" week scan booked for the 12th April, seems ages away, especially reading about so many happening this week! Based on my private scan, I will be 13 weeks on the scan date so it will be interesting to see what my final due date is to work towards

Chanteuse · 27/03/2023 20:50

@DancingNancies this is my thought process too - they can timetable all KS3 for me and then there’s no pressure on the mat cover. I am HOD but I’ve stepped down for now.

DancingNancies · 27/03/2023 20:58

@Chanteuse that's why I think I need to tell them ASAP so they can get a good cover sorted! I'm planning on saying my EDD is 20/10, which is the final day before half term - I'm part time so I have a couple of days "in lieu" to take off, so I may be able to actually go a couple of days earlier, if I'm not too big/fed up/exhausted by then!

And that's if baby waits - my first was 2 weeks early, 2nd 5 days late so it's anybody's guess!

Alexandra07 · 27/03/2023 21:08

@DancingNancies if I remember well your due date will be written on the paperwork you get at 20 weeks and you need to give to your employer to start your maternity leave later, but you can start your maternity leave whenever you want before Due date, unless baby arrives early! Do you really plan to work until your edd or close to that?? First pregnancy I started my maternity leave at 37 weeks, I hope this time I'll manage to stay till 36 weeks! It was so hard to move around rooms at 36 weeks and students were not fully aware of my big pregnancy belly!
I bet I will be given all ks3 classes, which makes sense, but I prefer older classes. It will be my worst timetable!

DancingNancies · 27/03/2023 21:18

@Alexandra07 yes, I think you're right! So far DD is 19/20th Oct, so I'm hoping it doesn't change - I'm trying to look at the other end of mat leave and when I'd go back! 20/10 means return to work 20/07 so I'd actually not go back til Sept! Much earlier than that and I'm looking at a busy few weeks of cover when I return which isn't very fun (I've done it before as my 2DS are August babies!).

So I'll hold out as long as I can tbh - maybe give myself a week's grace if I can - won't get much rest at home so may as well be earning 😂

cruciverbalista · 27/03/2023 21:19

Alright girls, first experience of bleeding just now at almost 12 weeks. Getting referred to EPU first thing in the morning. I'm scared 🙁

SoBoredOfWaiting · 27/03/2023 21:20

@DmcinT congratulations on your news! What a lot to take in but amazing for you.

@Summer022 I am quite close to my bosses, so I told them very early on - I appreciate I am probably in a niche position there though. I wasn't going to and the first thing that came out my bosses mouth was "can you move this heavy table with me" - er, no!

@OrionNebula such a clear photo, so lovely Flowers

Both me and dh were convinced my first was a boy, and we were right. This one my gut feel is a girl, but we will see.

We had our scan today, got to see a lovely wiggly stubborn baby (so much so I had to empty my bladder and do star jumps to get him/her to face a different way) and new due date of 6th Oct.

SoBoredOfWaiting · 27/03/2023 21:24

Sorry our messages crossed @cruciverbalista - hoping for the best for you and will be thinking of you tomorrow morning Flowers

monsteramunch · 27/03/2023 21:31

@cruciverbalista

We're all here for you lovely - I've got everything crossed it's just one of those unsettling but very normal pregnancy things and that they can put your mind at ease tomorrow Flowers

OrionNebula · 27/03/2023 21:39

@cruciverbalista really hope everything is ok, wishing you all the best for tomorrow

VictoriaBlossom · 27/03/2023 22:07

@cruciverbalista sending good vibes. I had this Friday at 9 weeks and it panicked me too, Keep an eye on it, mine disappeared after 2 wipes. Get an early night, I searched and searched Mumsnet and found way more positive stories than negative ones about bleeding 💐

DancingNancies · 27/03/2023 22:23

I had a fairly big bleed with DC2 @cruciverbalista , and he's not stopped being a pain since now 2.5 and a whirlwind! Sending you positive thoughts for tomorrow ❤️

Alexandra07 · 27/03/2023 22:56

@cruciverbalista I'll be thinking of you, hope everything goes well. Let us know how it goes. Make sure you rest. x

Jealousofchiliheeler · 28/03/2023 06:52

Hope all is well and you can get an early scan today @cruciverbalista

MeganC104 · 28/03/2023 09:36

I'm regretting telling people now. I wanted to wait until scan but we needed childcare for the scan so I had to parents but already it's "accidentally" passed on to grandparents and I just know it's going to be blurted out to others. I wanted to wait until the scan which is still a month away 😩

Saturnsmoon · 28/03/2023 09:37

So I just called the private clinic to follow up on nipt results and they said the lab came back saying there weren’t enough cells to analyse so I need to I come back and have it redone. I’ve honestly found the wait pretty stressful and am so frustrated that I’m now going to have to go through that again. It also means delaying telling people which is a bit of a non point but disappointing none the less. Sorry just needed to vent.

@cruciverbalista hope you get done reassurance soon.

cruciverbalista · 28/03/2023 09:46

Thanks for all the support ladies, it means so much. Just got out of my scan and baby is alive and moving around in there. Radiologist said likely an implantation bleed. Waiting on the feedback from nurses shortly, but definitely feeling more positive. Xx

SnookyPook · 28/03/2023 09:48

@cruciverbalista thinking of you this morning and hope you get some lovely reassurance. X

@Saturnsmoon oh no how frustrating. Maybe they'll be able to speed the processing up a bit for the one..? 🤞🏻

@MeganC104 oh that's annoying. I was out with my MiL on Sunday and she randomly met an old neighbour of hers and the daughter was there too who happened to be a girl I was at school with and she came out with it that I'm expecting number 2... 🙄 They were like "ooh do you know what you're having yet?" So I (slightly pointedly) said, "oh no, it's super early days, I'm not really telling anyone yet" and my MiL was like "ooh sorry!" - I've already had congratulations from two of DHs sisters who we hadn't told... My other SiL (who is also pregnant) was furious her Mum had done that. I'm not overly bothered in terms of not sharing the news myself it's just I'm so aware it's early days still and it's all people who would then need to know if something went wrong etc. It is a bit annoying in that regard. I'm trying to be charitable and think how lovely it is that MiL is so excited but still... I feel you!

This is great news, what a relief Flowers

VictoriaBlossom · 28/03/2023 11:12

@cruciverbalista this is great news. I hoped you'd be similar to how I was with a bit of a bleed and then it went away.
Woohooooo 😊😊
