@Dreamingof3 the midwife at hosp and the one that came yesterday. I've read online to pump and if that hurts to it's just nipples getting used to it? Might try that but the thought is making me cringe.

@Saltandpepperr does it hurt for the whole feed? Or just the start? Not that I’m an expert at all but I fed briefly with my son and did a 10 second count when he first latched which hurt and then it eased off, if it carried on hurting then I knew the latch was off!

pumping was much easier for me and my nipples 😅

@Franklin321 it hurts for about 5 seconds like intense pain and then it eases off but not completely it's just uncomfortable. I just pumped managed to get just under an ounce not sure that's any good he's 2 days old so have no idea what they drink at this stage just been feeding whenever he's been looking for it. It felt the same to pump I've just put some nipple pads in the freezer 😅

@Saltandpepperr it may just be your nipples hardening up but there’s probably local breastfeeding support groups near to you that may have better knowledge than the midwives/HV etc

this is going to sound silly, but baby is 1 week old today and I really miss being pregnant with her! I didn't even enjoy pregnancy haha I was either sick or by the end was swollen and with some much hip and joint pain it was awful 😂😂 now I'm upset cos she's out in the world and no longer my bump!

Anyone any recommendations for nursing bras? Usually get fitted at Bravissimo but at £46 per nursing bra I'm a bit reluctant!

Was out watching a football match and ended up leaving at half time because anytime there was a goal scored or people were chanting baby kept jumping scared, I feel bad now😂🙈

@beatingheartbaby I'm only on day 2 and I feel the same I'm really emotional my hormones are crazy and I feel sad because this was our first and last baby so I have to soak it all in I just don't want him to grow.

Q for those that have already had their babies born - have you already had visitors? How did it go? Especially if you had baby blues?

Lower back ache and the total feel to need to use the loo today again- Baby is back to back though
So uncomfy. I want this to be an early sign so much haha....Im 35+5.

@havananana my partners mum was here for almost 5 hours today. I had to text him and ask when she was going to leave, it was horrible and I've told him it's not to happen again. I ended up in the bedroom 'napping' but was really just in here sobbing. He agreed with me it was too long. I've enjoyed my own family visiting, they've come for less time and the visits do break up the day. My sister asked me how I was and I burst into tears and she just gave me lots of cuddles and said she knows how I'm feeling and that it's all normal.

@Rainbowbaby23 similar to me at a concert on Friday, I didn't leave though.. hope that doesn't say too much about me 🙃

@ToffeeEl I don’t blame you, if I had paid to go to a concert I would stay, but sitting in a loud bar with all drunk people wasnt really my cup of tea anyway so glad I had an excuse to leave😂😂

Getting some period cramps and lower back ache and really feel like I need a poo but feel constipated (tmi sorry!!)

@Saltandpepperr I have heard that the first 2 weeks are the hardest when breastfeeding and once you've got over that it becomes easier, hopefully you can get some support. I'm really wanting to bf this time round, but for longer than I did with my previous children. I remember doing it for around 2-3 weeks and then I gave up but I think a contributing factor was the lack of support.

Don't feel guilty in reaching out for help, we all need it at some point x

@Rainbowbaby23 Fairly similar here today too! Although not getting my hopes up on the pains - I had very strong period style cramps the other night until about 2am and then nothing. Had some tightenings and cramps today on and off but again assuming it’s BH and not the start of labour.

Just been on the monitor in the hospital, waiting to see doctor now, hopefully the trace was ok and I can get out of here. I’m in a delivery room because triage is full, delivery must be quiet at the minute lol

@Shep21 me too not getting my hopes up, I could very well just be constipated 🤣🤣
