@Babynum2congratulations! You’ll get a review of your birth with the midwife, you can raise all your concerns with them, sometimes it helps to feel heard and understand if there were other ways to handle it.

In short it wasn't really anything to do with the hospital it was just my body wasn't reacting to the induction and it went on for a very long time. He was back to back so I felt no contractions in my stomach it was all in my back and it was constant pain but because of my clexane I couldn't have the epidural when I wanted it. Just a very long painful labour compared to my other 2 that were only 5 hours and very straight forward.

@iratepirate in uk, yes. You get some post natal visits at home from a midwife, to check if the baby is putting on weight and also to talk about birth, if you want to.

Am off for my csection tomorrow! Slightly apprehensive but trying to just go with the flow. Everything is packed - now for dinner and film and trying to relax...

Well, clearly not in our trust.
We went to midwife appointments and they checked weight but nothing else.

Hello ladies my beautiful boy was born this morning at 1.18am weighing 7.4lb he was 37 weeks on the dot so I can fully say I have had atleast 1 "term" baby ha! I will not go into detail as it was very traumatic and don't want to scare anyone but i was induced Friday evening let's just say. My whole body is swollen I'm like a balloon and my little Arnie is so perfect he's in the NICU as he's having a bit of trouble breathing but doing great.

@TeddyBeans haha I don’t blame you! They estimated last week he was on track to be 9lb4 at 40 weeks… not crazy big I didn’t think but first was 7lb3. Got another doc appointment next week to discuss. Might ask for another scan as they said they’re not very accurate at this late stage!
Fingers crossed not too long for you to wait then! If I can have another week that would be perfect…

@iratepirate debrief definitely not standard where I am either. Had to ask and it took forever to arrange and then they forgot to tell me when they’d booked it in for so ended up having about ten mins notice before the appointment so wasn’t really able to make the most of it.

Am finally, finally finishing off packing The Bag tonight.

Hello all
We keep getting asked what people can buy us as presents for the baby. Which is lovely but I can't think of a thing as we're all kitted out. We've got soo many clothes from friends and family and all the furniture sorted
Can anyone think of random gifts we could ask for, things that are nice for people like my gran to buy rather than practical items like Nappies!
It's our first child so I'm sure there is something we've missed

With all these babies appearing I packed my hospital bags yesterday!
Was booked to visit the birth centre on a meet the midwife session on the 24th when I’m 36 weeks, has been pushed back to 10th March when I’m 38, I know as a first baby it’s more unlikely that baby will be early but I would have rather been to visit before then 😬

Every time I have stood up today I've felt like I was going to wet myself/the baby was going to fall out 😂 hoping that's a good sign she's moving in the right direction

All my friends said food vouchers/delivery parcels were the best gifts but appreciate some people want to buy baby thing's I just always default to the parents now.

I still haven't packed my hospital bag, think I'm going to wait until after midwife appointment this week as I want to find out what the chance's are that my placenta will actually move and when the section would be. I feel like I would need slightly different thing's if I'm going to have an early section. I just wish I knew if it will move or not but I guess some must as otherwise they wouldn't do another scan at 36 week's. I'm a planner so this is out of my comfort zone (even though I know birth never goes to plan)

@Dreamingof3 I've had this feeling with thinking I could wee myself! Sometimes baby's movements literally feel like he is trying to make me pee! Luckily I got some sexy lady nappies if I need them 😆

Gifts wise, suppose it depends on the budget, but something sentimental for the baby would be good I think.
It's the baby's birthday so I think the gifts should be for the baby.
