@Blocklynn oooh good tip, thank you.

Group show round also similar and saw everywhere. Just 4 couples plus us.

Convinced I'm going to be early and may not be able to go St Mary's for other reasons now, but want to transfer there so may see you!

ChristmasJumpers · 25/02/2023 08:20

I'm really sorry for sharing a picture but I'm only 35+5 and wondering if this could really be my mucus plug? Slightly greenish blobby discharge with some blood streaks. I had similar yesterday morning but without the blood!

Moonicorn · 25/02/2023 08:27

Is it a standalone MLU? If so the only thing I would say is to be happy with the transfer time given there are general ambulance delays and strikes at the moment 😬 my friend booked into an MLU after a dreamy pregnancy, but had problems in the second stage and needed an ambulance transfer that took 90 minutes to arrive! This was 5 years ago too. If it’s attached to hospital then obviously no issue there!

What are your weekend plans ladies? Today is going to be a walk to the beach, cleaning the pram/baby bath/sling and pump, and bathing the dog 😆 then viewing a house this afternoon. I started expressing colostrum yesterday so did 1ml from each boob, I figured with 3 weeks to go it’s worth starting to build my stash. Think I’ll do it every other day so should have 20ml ish by the time I go to hospital. Luckily my boobs seem to remember the drill, last time it took ages to fill a syringe but this time it’s much easier.

TeddyBeans · 25/02/2023 08:29

@ChristmasJumpers looks like it could be a bit of your show. They're different things. My mucus plug was very obvious - blobs of various sizes and colours but all the same consistency, very jelly like. The show is more discharge with blood in as it's from your cervix starting to dilate and the blood vessels inside it breaking and releasing a bit of blood. You might start seeing your plug if you've had your show! (Both can happen multiple times, try not to worry)

@BabyNumber3OnTheWay congratulations 💙💙

@Splashh good luck! Hope your labour goes smoothly 🤞

We came home last night I'm so glad I didn't have to stay in overnight. The midwife is coming today but not sure if they call first as I need to to back to hospital to collect my prescription should have asked but I just couldn't wait to get out of there it was so hot and noisy!

Perexi · 25/02/2023 10:48

Off for a private scan today, after they got some bits wrong last time they offered us a free scan and I wasn't going to say no..... I'll take what they say with a pinch of salt but excited to see him again 🥰

Good luck to everyone showing signs of meeting their babies x

JB2021 · 25/02/2023 11:21

@Blocklynn if you're doing the new parkrun - it's 2 miles uphill then the last mile ish downhill, it's tough!

CristinaNov182 · 25/02/2023 11:41

Congratulations to all the new mums, hope they and their babies are doing well!

I’m 37 weeks now, had a false start, some painful contractions a few days ago, but they have stopped. Hope something happens soon and I don’t get to 40 weeks again, don’t want another induction.

Makes it harder to wait as well, seeing all the good news here. But on the other side, only a few weeks left.

I’ve been reading the second book from the Thursday Murder Club between the contractions and it really helped. I didn’t feel the first book that much but it gets better. Now reading the third.

Are any of you ladies doing the exercises from the spinning babies or any other ex videos? Anything for breathing techniques also? I’ve been putting it off and thinking to do some, now at the very last minute. :)

havananana · 25/02/2023 11:52

I've got a scan on Tuesday too, cannot wait.
Have a super busy weekend and start of the week, but from 39 weeks I will start bouncing on the ball, walking more, etc

iratepirate · 25/02/2023 12:16

Tackling the garden today to get the veg beds ready for this year. I’ve pretty much given up on trying to run now as I’m getting shooting pains in my groin (lightning crotch?!) and it’s hard to run through, so it’s just been faster walks on the treadmill rather than ending up being stuck a longer walk from home if I can run. Annoying, but I’m pleased that I managed to keep the running up for so much longer than in my last pregnancies.

Blocklynn · 25/02/2023 14:47

@JB2021 it would be so funny if we were there at the same time!

We were planning on Beacons next Saturday, I’d just be walking but hills are my nemesis at the moment so not sure if to try or not 🫣

Perexi · 25/02/2023 15:29

I'm well impressed at you ladies still doing parkrun! Incredible! I get outta breath walking fast now but can't wait to get back to bootcamp!

Private scan was good, placenta doesn't look to have moved as expected and they suggested a c section would be much safer for us so will see what the hospital think on Friday. Apparently he's weighing around 5lbs12 at 35+3

GreenIsle · 25/02/2023 15:36

I've been having irregular contractions for the past 10 hours with absolutely no progression or other signs. Very annoying.

Bouncing on my ball and will take a walk soon.

JB2021 · 25/02/2023 15:50

@Blocklynn here is the profile. There were a few just walking today. If you park in the car park by the cafe this is closest to the start and finish.

Due March 2023 - Thread 8
Blocklynn · 25/02/2023 17:52

@JB2021 that is quite some for elevation for 5k!

JB2021 · 25/02/2023 19:55

@Blocklynn it's is but I thought I'd do it now, before I'm not able to and will have a few weeks at my home parkrun (Dishley). Knew a few of the core team today and got the most amazing cheer at the finish

If you go with the attitude of walking you'll be fine.

Dreamingof3 · 25/02/2023 21:17

I don't know how anyone is doing park run! The stairs kill me 🤣

For anyone who has previously spontaneously laboured...can we have a list of weird pre baby signs? I've never gone into labour myself and hoping to this time, I think we all know the normal bloody show/waters going etc but did anyone have any not often talked about signs that things were going to happen soon?

TeddyBeans · 25/02/2023 21:21

@Perexi glad your scan went well!

@Saltandpepperr how did you get on with the midwife?

I'm also incredibly impressed with those of you still running/jogging/walking parkruns!

Due date tomorrow for me. I'm more excited for Monday though so I can finally get the ball rolling and get her here. Have a sweep at 1pm on Monday as well so will go to the induction knowing how many cm dilated I am and whether they'll be able to break my waters as induction method. I'm still holding onto the little glimmer of hope for my water birth but if it doesn't happen, the midwife looking after me on Friday said we could do cobathing after she's born which sounds like a nice compromise.

DP and I had a little indoor date night this evening. We got take away (I had a curry) and watched wakanda forever. It was lovely and probably our last chilled out evening for a good few months at least 🤣

Just a little note to those booked for either inductions or elective c sections. My c section has been cancelled and pushed back a week due to understaffing and no beds on labour ward.
my hospital is currently really busy and they are prioritising life and death with babies/mums
They told me they had cancelled 7 more electives and multiple inductions so I wasn’t the only one...so nothing is set in stone even if you think it is when you get an induction date or c section.

I had a horrible dream last night about my baby not making it before he was born so it really wasn’t news I wanted 😣 but hopefully all will be ok 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Saltandpepperr · 25/02/2023 21:26

@Saltandpepperr she didn't call before she just knocked at 11.30. It was fine she checked my stitches, checked baby & just had a look at how he was sleeping at night then asked questions like did we smoke, do we share a bed with other children ect. There's a health visitor coming on day 5 aswell to do the heel prick and weigh him. I also have an app at the community hospital for hearing test on weds as they couldn't get a clear reading in his left ear in hosp so hope that is all OK. We still don't have a name for him so need to start thinking 🤔. She also watched him feed to check he is latching and he is my nipples are a bit sore still though.

Moonicorn · 25/02/2023 21:32

Crikey @Blondewave that doesn’t fill you with confidence does it Sad that’s why I raised the ambulance transfer times in my last post, nothing is working like it should be. It’s quite scary that they’re only dealing with life/death situations as there’s a huge grey area next to that where something might not be life/death but it could result in permanent damage. It’s all making me a bit nervous. How do you feel about your date being moved?

Franklin321 · 25/02/2023 21:33

@Blondewave a whole week! That’s awful! I’ve got my section booked for Wednesday and hoping it’s stuck to as I’m on daily monitoring (which is necessary but a faff to organise childcare) and I couldn’t bare it if they pushed me back 😖 hope yours comes around quickly and smoothly!

Yeah it’s real bad. To be honest it’s made me incredibly anxious and previously I was clam organised and had a lot of trust in them.
I agree with the grey area, I’m not just having an elective for the fun of it there is a medical need and I want my baby out ASAP to know he’s safe.
apparently they were even calling people with inductions/c secs booked in Monday to cancel. It’s such short notice 😖 x

Oops I'm about 3 threads behind! Congratulations to all those who have had their babies. So lovely reading through all the announcements. I hope you're all doing ok in the postpartum madness!

I'm 36w, being Induced at 39+4 I think it is as I grow bigggg babies. Feel at peace with it though, which is nice because I've not felt like that for agessss. Finished work this week too so operation relax as much as I can with Pgp and a toddler has commenced!!!
