Anyone elses baby suddenly dropped? 37 weeks and c section booked for next week...not ready for baby any earlier..but I had some pretty bad period pain yesterday so lay and slept and it went off. Then I had a few painful braxtons. They eased off too. Woke up this morning tho and baby has dropped sooo low. He was really high previously. Also been on the toilet a lot this morning and the odd back pain twinges but no ‘contractions’.
what are my odds of making it to next week for my c section? 😩 really want a nice planned birth as my first was super traumatic but my body seems to be in major birth prep mode xx

Induction booked for 10pm Monday. The Dr was trying desperately to manage my expectations of having a water birth. Told her it's fine if I don't get it, I'd rather little miss is safe which is true, I'd just prefer to be in the pool if at all possible 🤣 I've got this weekend to try and get her to come on her own!

Awww well you can come and sit on the ‘water birth disappointment’ bench with me if you like 😆 I’m just trying to remind myself the baby being safe is the only priority and the rest is just icing, and hang on to that. It’s a bit deflating letting go of the dream but - we will have our lovely babies soon! So we are very lucky too in many ways.

Cuppasoupmonster · 24/02/2023 13:24

Fgs how do I get my new username to stick 😱

Cuppasoupmonster · 24/02/2023 13:25

@Blondewave yep, definite feeling that baby has now dropped. Only 34 weeks but I have a feeling even if I wasn’t being induced early then I wouldn’t make it to due date anyway. Midwife today said she couldn’t feel much of his head as it’s so super low down 😬

ChristmasJumpers · 24/02/2023 13:26

@Cats23 I am also due on 27th and likely to be induced at 39 weeks as baby is breech (waiting for confirmation that she still is breech on Tuesday at my growth scan). I'm finishing work on 14th and I think the earliest they'll book my c section is 20th so I'm looking forward to a few days to relax. I WFH and the job isn't too strenuous but is full time so in reality I'll likely spend my time off cleaning the oven etc. 😂

TeddyBeans · 24/02/2023 13:30

@Moonicorn sorry you can't have your water birth 🙁 at least you have a plan now though! A small consolation prize, I know

Make waaaay! I'm going to throw myself full force at the disappointment bench 🤣 our babies will arrive and they'll be safe and that's the most important thing, the rest is just icing as you say ❤️

It’s so irritating like why does my body not do what I want it to do ever 🙄 why do I have to have a stupid random medical condition which ruins everything all the time 🎻

ChristmasJumpers · 24/02/2023 13:55

I'm feeling sorry for myself today and don't really know where else to vent! 35+4 and stretch marks have taken over. They're huge, angry red and so itchy. Yesterday, my pelvic pain got so bad in the supermarket that I ended up walking doubled over the trolley to try and take some of the weight off. To top it off, indigestion is back with a vengeance and my GP still doesn't want to give me omeprazole despite a telling off from the midwife in my first trimester.

I'm shamelessly jealous of all those who have met their babies already. Me next please 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️

TeddyBeans · 24/02/2023 14:11

@ChristmasJumpers so many levels of rubbish 😭 stretch marks are a bitch, try aveeno or something oat based to sooth the itchy. I'm pretty sure you can get a type of omeprazole OTC, might be worth looking into if your GP continues to be a dick

ChristmasJumpers · 24/02/2023 14:12

Thanks @TeddyBeans I will have a look at that, so far I've just been moisturising them but it's making no difference! I had no idea how big one stretch mark could be 😳 had a very stark "my body will never be the same again" moment last night

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 24/02/2023 14:18

@Cats23 in exactly the same boat, even down to due date 😂 I’ve been told they’re inducing early at 37 weeks due to my preeclampsia but until they give me a firm date I’m going to keep working. It depends what you’re comfortable with though, I can work from home and take it as easy as I like so I feel like for me personally it would be a bit of a waste to take much time this side of labour rather than the other side with baby.

Franklin321 · 24/02/2023 14:26

Came in this morning for reduced movements and what I thought might be contractions starting…pains haven’t ramped up as of yet but been for a scan and no baby movement seen on that either. Waiting to see the doctors but anxiety is going sky high now 😢

iratepirate · 24/02/2023 14:30

Oh @Franklin321 that’s the worst anxiety I’ve ever known.
I hope all is ok for you. 💓

Saltandpepperr · 24/02/2023 14:33

@Blondewave yes first baby that's why we were so shocked how fast it was. My husband was about to ring an ambulance but I said no let's just drive there.

I didn't think the sweep would work because I didn't have any of the cramps or loss of plug like everyone else. Literally nothing and then my waters just went with a pop and it woke me up. Now I think about it I did feel a little bit heavier after the sweep though.

Moonicorn · 24/02/2023 14:35

Franklin I’m sending you 🍷 even though it’s forbidden! I hope everything is okay and they are looking after you properly xx

Franklin321 · 24/02/2023 14:38

@iratepirate @Moonicorn thanks
ladies 💕

Splashh · 24/02/2023 14:41

@ChristmasJumpers sameee re itchy red stretch marks! I’ve been using an ice pack on the areas and it’s working wonders! Try that or a cold compress

ChristmasJumpers · 24/02/2023 14:42

@Franklin321 thinking of you, I hope all is okay and they don't keep you waiting too long ❤️

@splashh I will try that right now, I'm sure I've got a cold compress in the freezer

Shep21 · 24/02/2023 14:55

@Saltandpepperr Congratulations! To a FTM such a quick labour sounds like a dream!

Had my 36 wk apt today and been told I won’t be having a sweep until I hit 40wks (40+2 due to my midwife being away on the weekend). I’m back to being classed as low risk and no need to intervene until I’ve turned 40 weeks which is both great but also means I’m back to the waiting game and symptom spotting obsession! Hoping baby would like to make an appearance a bit sooner than 40 weeks🤞🏻

Dreamingof3 · 24/02/2023 15:14

@Franklin321 I hope everything's ok, the waiting around when you're worried is horrible. You're in the best place though, let us know how you get on x

TeddyBeans · 24/02/2023 15:21

@Franklin321 sending you loads of love. Hope everything's okay ❤️❤️

Ooo I'm glad it's all positive for you so far @JTB123so I presume you've dilated past 4cm if they've taken the balloon out?

What are the chances of your waters going naturally or is that unlikely to happen? Hopefully you get a bed on the labour ward soon 🤞

It fell out which means it's the right cm for them to be able to pop my waters! 🤞🏻

Erm I guess they're pretty good but I've been on the ball (how mine broke last time) and no luck and I'm not contracting anymore!

Been waiting for a bed on a Labour ward since 8, and there is still 1x person in front of me to go up 🫠🫠

If I was deciding now and not back in December I would pick to go on leave earlier but I have so much work left to do before!

I'm due 29th and finish on the 24th so only have 2 day's off before 🤦‍♀️ I'm almost hoping he stays transverse and or low placenta so it would get brought forward because I am knackered now 😂

JTB123 · 24/02/2023 15:38

U@Franklin321 Hope everything is ok lovely xx
