I’ve barely managed to watch any TV since being pregnant. DS has a sleepover with his grandparents this weekend so hopefully I might manage some then.

@Narwhal88 and @somuchtolearnabout yes Zita West is very much a person. I was just flipping through a book she wrote called ‘Natural Pregnancy’ the other day. There is at least one photograph of her on every single page. That’s how self-obsessed she is. Other than that it basically gives descriptions of a range of pregnancy complaints then goes on to - separately - recommend acupuncture and reflexology for virtually all of them (very convenient when she owns a clinic which offers both of these at steep prices).

@Miraclesdohappen88 i bet, I have everything crossed for everyone on it and hate when they come back and it’s not good news, it’s tragic 😢 especially one of the ones when it said they were taking a break from trying now. I’ve seen a few episodes of that one too!

@Amme18 i watched every episode of every series of one born last time I was pregnant 😂 I knew I was having a section too so didn’t even need to watch it and go ‘omg that might happen to me’ 🤣 obsessed with the Emma Willis one, really like her!

@Narwhal88 aw I can only imagine! It’s so sad at times but so good, feel a bit bad for Alex sometimes, feel like she’s trying hard but some of the staff are a bit blunt with her if she’s done something wrong. It’s probably just for show but in last week’s with the trolley wheels being dirty I was a bit annoyed for her 🙈

Firsttimemomma1 · 26/01/2023 06:24

@AnnieApple123 i love a bit of bluntness haha - no need to apologise for that in my world we’re all allowed to have an opinion.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience, I had no idea she had a physical clinic. Customer service is so easy to get right and so easy to get wrong.

I’ll look into the brand you mentioned. For now her products work for me (and helped me conceive) so I’m a pretty impressed.

AnnieApple123 · 26/01/2023 08:32

Glad my bluntness has been taken in the right spirit.

How is everyone this morning? I was hoping a lot of my anxiety would be relieved after having a scan. Yet it seems I’ve very quickly just moved onto a new set of worries. I really wish I could relax and enjoy things a bit more.

ChloeN · 26/01/2023 08:39

@AnnieApple123 i feel anxious for my next scan already, I’m thinking it just won’t go away!

Someone said to me yesterday oh I assume the baby was a big surprise and I was like erm no why would you think that 🤣🤣 Is it normal for people to question whether you planned it?😂

AnnieApple123 · 26/01/2023 08:48

@ChloeN No that sounds very rude! I’m assuming it wasn’t someone you know well?

I’m honestly quite dreading the next scan already.

ChloeN · 26/01/2023 08:56

@AnnieApple123 no she’s a client, I’ve got her on Facebook so she saw the announcement. She was being nice like congratulations etc but then said that🤣 I’ve got my next one through for the 9th feb so 2 weeks today 🫣

froglou · 26/01/2023 08:58

AnnieApple123 · 25/01/2023 08:20

Welcome @froglou ! Shall I put you down for September 1st for now or do you want to choose an earlier date?

Yeah 1st is good! Although I'm sure the actual date will change come scan day 🤣
Thanks!

froglou · 26/01/2023 09:08

Been reading through all the posts.

I cant watch them sort of pregnancy and birth programs they make me too emotional so defo not now! Although I flicked past the Alex Jones ones set in kings the other day and it reminded me of my first scan in last pregnancy and make me excited for this time round!

My stomachs really popped out this week, it's started going numb/pins and needle-y and that feeling like elastic snapping, which I didn't have last pregnancy till about 15 weeks(currently 9), I know you're all ahead of me but wondered if anyone else has started getting bigger earlier. It's made me worried that somethings wrong!

Not winning the battle against the HG currently, yet another sick day. Feels weird as obviously pregnancy was a decision and I'm not "ill" but I really can't push through it at the moment!

Sjw30 · 26/01/2023 09:16

Good luck to others having scans today 💗 I’m so anxious my minds all over the place I can’t remember who else has scans today 😩. I’ve been up since half 4!!

I’m10 weeks and look pregnant. I think that second time around my body has given up!

PumpkinEverything · 26/01/2023 10:27

That’s so rude @ChloeN ! 🙈 I’d never say that to someone.

We weren’t asked that at all with our first pregnancy. With this one because Fia is only 15 months people seem a bit surprised and really didn’t expect it, but no one has asked. Apart from my two best friends who knew we were waiting until summer haha. And they’re allowed!

somuchtolearnabout · 26/01/2023 10:34

@ChloeN Hahahahah people can be such dicks!! Did it bother you? I’ve obviously got a 3yo and a 1yo so when people hear I’m pregnant (I haven’t hidden it but haven’t announced, just told people as I see them) but you wouldn’t believe the amount of “oh wow you’re gonna have your hands full!” comments I’ve had. I actually just laugh but inside I’m thinking yeah - no shit Sherlock!

CityKity · 26/01/2023 10:44

@Sjw30 good luck with your scan today! What time is it?

I had mine this morning, and it’s all looking good! Just one baby, low risk of genetic conditions and overall just the most surreal experience I’ve ever had. Baby was moving around and kicking a lot which just blew my mind, so they were scanning for a really long time to get measurements, but got them in the end.
So relieved and I guess a bit nervous now about how to share the news. The only downside was no printed pictures so DH hurriedly snapped shots on his phone of the screen as we were leaving, but I wish we were able to access all the pictures!

@AnnieApple123 new EDD for your list = 1st Aug! I was sure we would be late August, so now wondering if my last period was actually implantation bleeding? I have very light single day periods, so it’s possible I suppose!

After having zero appetite the first 12 weeks, this week I’ve been eating like a horse, so I’m also starting to feel like the jeans are getting tight and slight bump/food baby by the evening is starting to make an appearance.

AnnieApple123 · 26/01/2023 10:57

@PumpkinEverything and @somuchtolearnabout I almost feel the opposite with an almost 3 year-old that people have been wondering if and when there was going to be another one. You just can’t win!

@froglou I’m also showing much earlier this time.

overwork · 26/01/2023 11:30

Oh great news on the scan @CityKity. Though was it you who's partner quite wanted twins?
I know I'll get asked if it was planned - everyone knows my feelings on kids, I honestly think it would be less of a surprise to them if my male partner announced he was pregnant than it will be when I do. But I think my situation is a bit different to most and I really cant imagine asking someone I worked with!

ChloeN · 26/01/2023 11:32

@somuchtolearnabout not really I just think what an odd thing to say 🤣 I really cba for horror labour stories either 🤣

@overwork i think most people know I want a baby so I find it really surprising that it’s a shock?😂

Marmaladebear · 26/01/2023 11:36

Hi everyone don't know if anyone remembers me, I had quite a big bleed in December just before Christmas and had to go to the EPU. They found the embryo but I had to go back a week later for another scan to check for growth and a heart beat. It was good news, baby had grown exactly a week and had a heart beat 💕

I stayed away from anything pregnancy related for a few weeks but then came back to lurk on this thread a couple weeks ago. I tried to hold off posting until my scan on Sunday but really wanted to pop on to say hello.

Also, how is everyone coping with sickness? For my first pregnancy I had nausea but was able to carry on as normal working and socialising for the first trimester. This pregnancy I'm throwing up multiple times a day and the nausea has stopped me working and frankly being as hands on a mum as I usually am. Is anyone on prescription medication? I'm hoping to ask for this today. I didn't have any with my son but this sickness is so much worse.

nadsc · 26/01/2023 11:38

@ChloeN with my first pregnancy, I had some colleagues at work say to their clients that I was bored during lockdown(I worked in a hairdressers and got pregnant in the last lockdown we had) I thought that was so rude 😂

LBF2020 · 26/01/2023 11:39

Morning everyone, feeling good today. At hospital waiting for my consultant appointment. I managed to have the flu vaccine whilst I've been waiting. Apparently they are running over an hour behind :-(

The people we've told so far have been pleasantly surprised, as we had been told it would be hard to get pregnant with my health issues.

Good luck to those with scans today

ChloeN · 26/01/2023 11:44

@nadsc that is rude 🤣🤣 I think when you work with people they feel they have the right to ask personal questions! I’ve already had when am I coming back after maternity leave 🙄

CityKity · 26/01/2023 12:00

Thanks for the well wishes!

@overwork great memory, DH was desperate for twins, and whilst one and done is tempting, I’m very relieved to have a singleton and all lower risks that come with it.

AnnieApple123 · 26/01/2023 12:06

So glad you’re back @Marmaladebear and that everything is OK. I can totally understand why you’d want to take a break after going through that. xx

OP posts:
BCxx · 26/01/2023 12:44

@CityKity congrats on the scan!

@LBF2020 hope you’re not waiting much longer

@ChloeN one of my closest friends replied the last time when I texted her with the scan photo all excited saying ‘was it planned?’. She was the only person who said anything like that and it was just so rude! It’s not like I was really young or anything either, I was 28! We’ve very much drifted apart now though funnily enough 🤣
