@Mulner88 I wore full scubs on Sunday because we did Sunday breakfast and I looked like I was about to hill out my uniforms 🤣
Looks like a big fatty opposed to pregnancy and the pockets were shit!!

Our uniform stores woman is a wee cow so I'll likely go to the other hosp to get mines as they give extras haha!

overwork · 21/02/2023 09:03

I only work clinically one day a week but in our staff room there's a box of abandoned tunics. I'm going to rifle through it when no one is there and find myself a bigger top - the only one I have that I still fit into is starting to look a bit obscene.
Haha ah yes there will be no hiding us if we do this again @ChloeN! I still haven't told anyone (we are still processing it ourselves really, I'm not sure 9 months is going to be long enough to get our heads in gear), I'm sure as soon as we do tell the bump / bloat / fat / whatever it is will sooooo blinking obvious. But because no one would ever expect me to be pregnant, I think they're just not seeing it at the minute!

sally16 · 21/02/2023 09:09

@overwork I didn't show for ages but my friend was massive from like 7 weeks and just got bigger and bigger with her first 😂 she was a skinny thing too so was no hiding it haha!

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 21/02/2023 09:21

I'm 14 weeks with my first and I am showing so much. I have been keeping up with dog walking and other than Christmas haven't been eating anymore than normal. And everybody keeps telling me that they didn't show until 20 weeks with their first so guessing I will be like a whale at that stage 😂 I was like a 6/8 beforehand and I am now wearing 10/12 in anything that is snug around the waist.

Also loving all of the holiday suggestions DH and I have been toying with the idea of getting away but haven't found a place we want to go to just yet.

overwork · 21/02/2023 09:25

@MinnieFirstTimeMum I keep telling myself that it will settle down now and everyone puts on weight at different times, we'll hopefully stay the same for a little while now! (Or we'll be like Sally's friend and just balloon Confused). Let us know what you book!

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 21/02/2023 09:30

@overwork I'm definitely hoping so 😂 crazy how everybody's pregnancy is so different.

Marmaladebear · 21/02/2023 09:44

If anyone with kids is looking for holiday suggestions we've just booked one of the luxury family hotels. Never done it before but my friend did over Christmas and was raving about it - 90 mins childcare a day included, monitors so you can have dinner downstairs while baby sleeps and at the end of the day it's a 5 star hotel with a spa and pool. We found one an hour and a half drive away which is ideal but I CBA going very far right now 😂 they also have a deal on 3 nights for the price of 2 outside of half term so it worked out cheaper than some airbnbs we were looking at.

Originally I wanted to do one last family holiday abroad before baby comes but I literally don't have it in me but excited for this UK holiday!

sally16 · 21/02/2023 09:57

@Marmaladebear WHERE!!!! 😂
I've just got my back pay so I'm very interested in this haha!
We don't have childcare for holidays but if they are gonna mind my child and have a monitor situation when I'm having my dinner to reduce the bairn being stolen/doing a runner then I'm into it

Marmaladebear · 21/02/2023 10:07

@sally16 this is the link: www.luxuryfamilyhotels.co.uk/ the 3 for 2 nights offer outside of term time really helps with the price!! They've got a few hotels, we've chosen the Sussex one and my friend did the one near Bath over Christmas and absolutely loved it. We've never used childcare on holiday before either, hoping my toddler likes this 🤞🏽🤞🏽

sally16 · 21/02/2023 10:21

@Marmaladebear wow they are so nice! I've looked for when we are in cornwall but no availability for when SIL and BIL could join us as a mini break close to home for them too haha!
Need to have a good look at the other options!

Marmaladebear · 21/02/2023 10:51

@sally16 it'll be so much fun to do with people, then you can hang out on the evenings! I actually don't know what we'll do with our evenings apart from eat dinner 😂 will be nice to just have a bit of a rest!

AnnieApple123 · 21/02/2023 11:16

Oh my goodness, almost time for a new thread! I’ll set it up this afternoon.

I dug out a picture of myself yesterday at this stage last time and there was barely anything there at all. In contrast I’ve had two people ask me already this time if I’m certain it’s only one. In fact I’ve even had some thoughts myself of, ‘There couldn’t have been another one that the sonographer missed, could there?!’

Thank you @AnnieApple123

P1pk · 21/02/2023 14:52

So many msgs to keep up with! Loving the holiday suggestions!
Welcome @Skullcollector
@sally16 I feel the same, when I am doing bits around the house neednto remind myself I'm pregnant!!
I went to an aquanatal class and everyone else was ahead of me and clearly showing a bump, I just look fat!!

allgoodthings84 · 21/02/2023 15:13

I’m only 13+3 but second pregnancy and not showing at all. I’ve got a bit of a curve but can’t see it with my high waisted jeans on. I can feel the bump when I run my hand over my tummy but it’s not much of one. I didn’t show with my first until well over 20 weeks though

DesertSnow · 21/02/2023 15:24

Can't believe we've nearly filled another thread!

I have this thing where I kind of see the next week as "really far along" until I get there, if that makes sense? So when I turned 16 weeks, I was like "wow, 17 weeks will feel so far along", and then I got to 17 weeks and I thought "17 weeks feels really early, but 18 weeks seems so far along!" It's happened every week so far 😅

I definitely think I look fat rather than pregnant. DH says otherwise but think he's just being kind. Can't wait till I look indisputably pregnant and other runners won't judge how slow I am!

AnnieApple123 · 21/02/2023 15:36

@P1pk I did a hypnobirthing class last time at 15 weeks and felt similarly. Most of the others there were 28+ weeks and I felt the need to say in my intro, ‘I’m Annie and I really am pregnant, I promise!’

OP posts:
Skullcollector · 21/02/2023 18:31

@DesertSnow I know what you mean about the next week feeling so much more pregnant until you actually get to that week. I’ve been feeling like that since I found out. I’m definitely showing, and looking about 8 months 😳

Rowanandremy · 21/02/2023 20:15

Welcome @Skullcollector I completely forgot to welcome you with my other message, I’d like to say it’s baby brain but my memory is just terrible 😂

@AnnieApple123 for the longest time I was convinced I had more than 1 baby in there, I was showing far earlier and even my dw very flatteringly asked if we were sure one wasn’t hiding on the scan 😂

I’m strangely jealous of all talks of an abroad holiday, strange because I am absolutely terrified of flying - I’ve not stepped foot on a plane in well over 15 years and usually I’m content with that. We had a lovely holiday in the uk before getting pregnant, I’d love to do that again but without all the rain 😂

@Rowanandremy we definitely won’t be going abroad either. I’m just generally wary of being far away from home after having had so much anxiety this time. So you’re not alone! Goodness knows when we will manage it now…

Hi everyone, has anyone here flown whilst pregnant? I'm flying soon and I'll be 20 weeks I'm feeling super stressed incase of blood clots / swelling of the feet and possibly miscarriage ? It's only a 2hr n 30 min flight, feeling super stressed over it and feeling panicky, can someone reassure me :( x

BCxx · 24/02/2023 22:46

@newmummie we’re over on the new thread now 😊

Lots of us have spoken about flying. With a short flight like that you’ll be fine. I’m going a short flight within the UK and considering going further afield for a final holiday before baby arrives. I’m more worried about being abroad and not being able to go to my local hospital but I think the flying thing is quite safe

BusyBushBaby · 22/03/2023 14:07

@newmummie I've just got back from Tenerife. All was fine. I got up and walked up the aisles a lot as toddler kept wanting to go to the toilet (he mostly didn't do anything 😂)
