@Marmaladebear haha just realised my username sounds mega weird to say welcome to 😳

BCxx · 19/02/2023 14:11

@Marmaladebear you were one step ahead of me even being there so well done 😂 I had planned to join a maternity yoga block that’s starting soon but convinced myself I don’t have the time🙄 should really prioritise myself for one hour of the week and go

Marmaladebear · 19/02/2023 14:37

@Skullcollector haha it is a funny username to use in a sentence 😂

@BCxx I've only started going again the last couple of weeks - the first trimester really knocked me for six!!

DesertSnow · 19/02/2023 18:37

Welcome @Skullcollector I often find myself wondering about some people's usernames 😆

Found out baby is also Rh negative which is a relief! @ChloeN I think it was you who said baby was Rh postive? Hope you feel ok about it?

marleyandme · 19/02/2023 18:59

@DesertSnow when do you have the blood test to find out baby's rhesus status?
I'm rhesus negative but not sure whether they do that test in my area or when to expect it or if I just get the anti d jabs as a precaution.

ChloeN · 19/02/2023 19:03

@marleyandme mine was meant to be after my 12 week scan but I didn’t get a due date so had it at 15 weeks instead!

@DesertSnow yep mines positive lol🤣 I’m not too worried to be fair, I had the jab after my mc so I think that then protects this baby until I have the next one? I find it all a bit confusing 🤣

DesertSnow · 19/02/2023 19:12

@marleyandme I had mine at 12 weeks. Not sure if every area does the test though, I think someone on here a while back said they just get offered the anti d rather than a blood test. Might be worth checking with your midwife?

@ChloeN yep very confusing! Yeah I think as long as you've had the injections it's not a problem. Just another thing to tick off the list I guess!

Hello ladies! Hoping for some more advice, especially from those of you that have been pregnant before.

Desperately trying to plan a holiday and keep going in circles on where to go. Looking at going away at the start of May so will be 27 weeks. I’m not a resort holiday type and usually do multi city hop holidays, with hiking and outdoors thrown in, so being pregnant is really put me in a spin of where to go, what type of holiday to have, and how far to travel etc.
We were thinking of somewhere that we’d be less likely to go with kids so initially thinking Turkey with a few days in Istanbul then travel done the coast to Troy and end somewhere by the sea to chill for a few days, but for some reason am having a wobble about it all. Also thought about California but that seems too far and a lot of hours in a car which maybe not work for my tiny bladder 😅.
Any inspiration/ advice will be soooooo gratefully received!!

unluckyinlife · 19/02/2023 21:46

@CityKity I did a Greece holiday (Zakynthos) about that gestation last pregnancy and couldn't recommend it enough. Lots of walking routes, day excursions and travel to nearby places. It was very pregnancy friendly too. Xx

EsmeSusanOgg · 19/02/2023 22:03

Hello! Officially due 18 August... But had first early, so not expecting to go to 40 weeks.

unluckyinlife · 20/02/2023 08:18

So I haven't really had a chance to be on here much . My husband and I have kick-started the buy our first house plan as our Borrowing power will decrease the day this little is here. We fell I'm love with a house we saw Saturday and plan on making an offer tomorrow!!! So exciting but stressful. Strange to think hopefully by the end of the year we should have a house and a baby.

It's strange, although I'm somewhere between 12 And 13 weeks I still haven't let myself start to believe this will result in a baby. which im sad about but much experience and the fact that i was told without the folic acid tablets that I wouldn't conceive and if I did I'm at higher risk of neutral Tube defects it just seems impossible.

I thought I'd feel better today but now I'm already telling myself that if today goes OK it means nothing until I've had the 20 week scans and checks for spinal bifidia (apologies if I spelt that wrong).

Sorry to subject you all to my sad/negative rant but my husband is not helpful . I think his actual comment was well you've only lost 3 and have had two healthy babies so it's nearly 50/50 odds ..

Hes not insensitive, just very blunt and matter of fact thinking. He will be upset if things go wrong but his way of dealing with it is to not acknowledge its happening.

My best friend who was meant to be coming with me today has just woken up with what she believes is Covid so can't come so I'm going alone! I'm almost relieved in a way so I don't have to hide how scared I am.

sally16 · 20/02/2023 08:33

@CityKity we did Tunisia at that gestation and it was great as the resorts have so much to do for adults and kids (and surprisingly cheap) but unless booking excursions it's not really a holiday to go wandering alone we found!
Also did Rhodes at 32 weeks in the October 😅
Which was the best!!! I was ridiculously uncomfortable at that stage but it wasn't too hot and we love the island so was able to relax at the resort some days and go on days out too! Since it's such a small island you can basically get a taxi back to resort from anywhere within like 30-40 mins 😅 we just did 4 days as it was a last min holiday before the island 'closed' but it was a brilliant destination for both relaxing and adventuring!

ChloeN · 20/02/2023 08:45

@unluckyinlife fav news about the house! But sorry your partners not being more understanding! Good luck for today, I’m petrified before every scan it makes me sick with worry so I know how you’re feeling! Xx

sally16 · 20/02/2023 10:50

Is anyone else feel like they are in limbo.. like definitely pregnant now as had scan.. but just waiting on next one.. have a bit of a bump but look a bit fat opposed to pregnant etc 😂

tax19 · 20/02/2023 11:06

@sally16 couldn't agree with you any more!!!
That is exactly how I am feeling

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 20/02/2023 11:19

@sally16 that is exactly how I feel too x

BCxx · 20/02/2023 11:54

@sally16 yip same here, just sort of twiddling my thumbs waiting to be 20+ weeks and look/feel fully pregnant 😂 this bit is almost weirder than the very start when you at least don’t look pregnant and no one knows you are. I went swimming at the weekend with my toddler and looked pregnant in my swim suit but could also just have been fat, was a horrible feeling getting out the pool 🙈 Got a proper night out this weekend and no idea what I’m going to be able to wear!

BCxx · 20/02/2023 11:55

About to watch Carys and James’ latest 45 minute video.. rolling my eyes but I’m invested nonetheless 🤣 thought of you when I saw how long it was haha @ChloeN

ChloeN · 20/02/2023 12:01

@BCxx 🤣🤣 I haven’t caught up with them in a while but you need a whole morning off to have time to watch the whole thing 😂

Recoba · 20/02/2023 12:04

@CityKity I went to Japan during my first pregnancy at about 20 weeks, which was great (nausea had just about eased up and had a lot more energy). Your plan to go down to Turkey sounds lovely - is there anything in particular you're having worries about? Care in case something goes wrong?

What I would recommend is being very open to eating small amounts often. And wherever you go buy lots of snacks and keep well hydrated. You might sleep badly so be prepared to be flexible about how much you want to get done in a day.

Having done parts of California with a toddler, I'd say it's a pretty great place to take kids! Lots of playgrounds and perfect weather in the cities, great walks nearby.

@unluckyinlife sorry you're having such a tough time, and not being well supported. Can you talk to a midwife about your worries? Really hope your scan goes well and that you're successful in your offer.

jjeanii · 20/02/2023 12:31

@BCxx who are carys and James?

unluckyinlife · 20/02/2023 12:39

@ChloeN @Recoba Thank you the kind words.

Turns out I was worried over nothing. Baby was formed perfectly (even the extra checks with the spine and brain!) Nuchal fold measurement was 1.5mm which I have no idea what it means but she said it all looks perfect!

The sonographer was genuinely the most supportive professional I've encountered in any pregnancy. She spent a lot of time looking and showing me baby, and personally made sure my next appointment was booked for a day she worked late so my husband could definitely be there!
Turns out baby is due on the 25th of August! @AnnieApple123 please can you update it on due dates ❤
That makes me 13weeks and 3 days, does that mean in in trimester 2? X

unluckyinlife · 20/02/2023 12:41

I also felt like the sonographer and woman in the room were hinting heavily that baby is a boy! I'm happy either way but my son is adamant he never wanted me to have another baby after his sister as he didn't want to risk having two sisters! X

BCxx · 20/02/2023 13:07

@jjeanii they just have a YouTube channel and Carys is due to give birth in the next few weeks so she’s posted a hospital bag video (a very long one)!

ChloeN · 20/02/2023 14:03

@unluckyinlife so pleased everything went okay 🥰🥰
