@firsttimelondonmummy this is incredibly unprofessional...... NHS staff usually go above and beyond but it's terrible what you encountered, sounds like a complete lack of any compassion! I'm glad you'll be seen by the same private sonographer who saw you two weeks ago. If they hadn't noticed any issues when they scanned you first, then I thi there's hope everything is okay? ❤️
@PurBal @Dewintergarden thank you for replying x

Is anyone else really struggling to sleep? I am tired every evening, and head to bed at a reasonable time. Fall asleep fairly quickly and then almost like clockwork, I wake up at 3am. I don't always need a pee, but get up, go. And then really can't get back to sleep until 6am-ish. Its bloody annoying.

Thanks for those with big age gaps who responded x DD is very excited as baby will be here at latest a few days before her 8th birthday. She's excited to help me and cuddle baby too.

I'm struggling to sleep too. Fall asleep straight away but wake during night around 3am for a wee and can't sleep for another hour or so. Also now both sides of my ribs are so sore so sleeping on either side is becoming too painful. Can't sleep front, sides or back. DH suggested suspending myself from the ceiling like a bat 😂

@DrinkingAllTheGin i am exactly the same sleep-wise. I’m super tired so fall asleep fine but then WIDE awake at about 3am until about half an hour until my alarm goes off at 7am. Starting to really drag me down now if I’m honest!

@DrinkingAllTheGin I am knackered constantly but wake up everyday at 3am ish and just lay here wanting to sleep . If Laying in bed annoys me I start doing laundry and moving around which to my husband, gets very annoyed at . Whoops !

( Anyone else suffering from headaches - I keep getting headaches :(. )

3am crew checking in! Usually awake then. I’ve got the tummy bug DS picked up from nursery so… yeah… not nice… and trying to get back to sleep is impossible when you feel like you’re on a boat. 😞

I've been really struggling with sleep too right from the start. Some nights I'll just wake up 4-5 times for no reason, other nights as people have said I'll wake up around 3am and not get back to sleep until 6ish. Its hormones apparently. At least when baby is here I'll have a reason for not sleeping rather than my body just being wonky! I also get alot of headaches when I'm tired so it's starting to get me down a bit. Midwife said there's nothing that can be done really though.

Hi all, I wrote a few days ago saying my oh got covid, anyway I ended up getting it too, iv had cold and flu symptoms and shivering /congestion. But the last day or so iv felt it on my heart like a scary palpitation feeling - yday was the worst I was going to pass out so had to lay with legs up. I also hadn't felt baby move so called antenatal triage. They called me in to check with Doppler and found baby heartbeat. I was still so poorly rest of the evening.

I'm writing because I'm actually so worried about the logistics of birth. Basically the mw said Theyr on 'divert' tnyt, I said what does that mean, she said any mum calling in, we having to send to another hospital- some in towns as far as 30/45 min away. Even women in labour!!! So not only are u already scared of the unknown of labour but u might be going to an unknown hospital far from home. The nhs is literally crumbling, she said there should be 24 mw on tnyt and there are only 7. So in labour, or antenatal or postnatal care will basically be in another hospital where they can find space. Has anyone else experienced this in their trust or is it onl my mind.

@firsttimelondonmummy im so so sorry this happened. It sounds like a horrible experience. I’m so glad you have the other sonographer to get a second opinion from. I think I remember you saying disability was a significant thing for you because of family so this must have been particularly tough. The sonographers in my trust aren’t particularly great at bedside manner (I found my 12 scan horrible, had to ask them to stop because of panic) but the midwives have been lovely. I hope you get some comfort soon.

another member of the 3am crew here. It had got so bad (combined with the fact I snore now!) that now one of us is sleeping in the spare room depending on who needs the sleep most! I have a cold rn and the sinus headache pain is unreal. I’ve resorted to taking paracetamol every day, which I didn’t want to do, but steam bath just wasn’t cutting it.

Hi all! I'm 22 weeks tomorrow. Struggling with sore hips when I'm sleeping and very vivid dreams.

Thanks all for your kind words!
I am going to request I don’t see that sonographer again and will be asking to see our different birthing options in person before committing to giving birth via the NHS.

@AstroH thankfully we had Harmony testing privately fairly early on so we have been told by our private clinic that the chances of it being linked to a genetic disorder are very low.
We would have been so so stressed had we not had this.
My private sonographer is fairly sure that NHS have just tried to scan him at an awkward angle (we did know he was being awkward that day).
She said the only other think she thinks it can be is that he’s been holding his foot at a weird angle and caused it himself which is easily corrected at birth.
The whole process with the NHS was clunky though and lacking in any detail or empathy and would have had us thinking the worst had we not had a number of private scans and tests.

Have you got a pregnancy pillow? I find having it between my knees really helps with hip/pelvic pain.

I'm going to have to get a pillow. Last night I really struggling to get comfortable and ended up with a spare behind my back to lean on.

Another one for the 3am crew, it's actually really starting to annoy me as I'm so tired but can't get back to sleep, my alarm goes off for 6am for work and typically when that goes off I am drifting off, been getting really bad headaches but I do suffer from migraines which are worse when I'm tired. My blood pressure has now gone high and I have protine in my urine so they will be testing me for pre eclampsia, which I'm really hoping I don't delevop as planning on working till 39ish weeks if I can cause maternity pay is so terrible. Ergh just another thing to worry about

Hi ladies, I've been lurking for a while but after having my 20 week scan last Wednesday - can I join please?

Also can I ask when and who from did you get your MAT B1 forms and when after your 20 week scan did you next see the midwife?

We are having a little girl, due 21st June! 🥰🥰🥰

@positivethoughts1 congratulations on your girl, lovely picture! Its so amazing how much detail you can see now. MatB form, I knew there was something I was going to ask today but forgot! According to Google we should get it at the next midwife appointment but might have to ask your gp if not.

I've rang my midwife and left a message asking about my mat b form today.
Work need it before I'm 25 weeks but not seeing her until just after, so she's popped it at the reception at Dr's for me to collect.
Also had a little chat over the phone with her about my anxiety and mh.
Circumstances around this pregnancy and life in general are tough and a bit out of the ordinary at the mo, it's nice to know she's keeping and eye on me 😊

Joining the 4 am crew!
Is there still anyone waiting for a 20 week scan (or in my case re -scan) or is everyone done?
Also, anyone else still keeping pregnancy a secret from everyone including close family? 😁

I rang midwife today too for my matb form as both mine and dhs work need proof. My next midwife app I'll be about 26 weeks but I need it before 25 weeks. They said they'll leave it on reception on Friday for me.

On another note I'm struggling with names so much. I think I've gone through every name in the world and can't find one I like.
