@Belami it was a super fun speculum and swab! Was a bit uncomfortable but only for a few seconds :)

firsttimelondonmummy · 22/02/2023 21:50

@Belami don’t hate me but I really haven’t rated my bb hugme was moaning to a friend how much of a waste of money it was.
Your supposed to sleep on or length ways so it’s super uncomfortable if you put it into a v and when it’s straight it does nothing to stop me rolling and I hardly feel any support 😭

Also to those suffering from constipation I had really bad constipation and fissures for years even before pregnancy and orange juice with bits every morning and optibac supplements (now on the pregnancy ones) as someone mentioned earlier have literally changed my life 😭

Junebaby30 · 23/02/2023 07:36

@firsttimelondonmummy do you just take these ones? Optibac

firsttimelondonmummy · 23/02/2023 07:50

@Junebaby30 I can’t see any link of photo but it’s these for reference.

@Junebaby30 sorry I’ve clearly not woke up.
Yes the ones you’ve linked are correct ☺️

I'll give those a go, thanks @firsttimelondonmummy . My guts have never been brilliant either. I drink orange juice every morning too, although the smooth stuff, maybe I should try the one with bits then. I have found that I hardly ever get colds now though since drinking it :) Also got some kiwi fruit as I've heard that's supposed to help.

firsttimelondonmummy · 23/02/2023 10:58

@Kelvie103 this sounds weird but the bitty orange vs smooth makes a huge difference for me.
The optibac are awesome too I now have them on subscription 🙌🏻

@Belami my midwife said they start bump measurement at 28 weeks.

DrinkingAllTheGin · 23/02/2023 11:04

@Kelvie103 prunes and dried apricot helps me if you are looking to keep things moving with diet alone.

summerpoolandsun · 23/02/2023 11:33

Same I have half a tin of prunes a day to keep regular. Also had constipation for years.

theblueflowers · 23/02/2023 11:57

@firsttimelondonmummy I'm so glad you said this about the bbhugme! I don't really get the hype?!
I'm putting up with it because it cost so much and am finding it sort of useful by putting it between my legs but that's sort of it, I don't know how else to use it. Kind of wished I went for the V shape ones as they actually look comfy. My dog is enjoying it, though.

Belami · 23/02/2023 16:55

@theblueflowers & @firsttimelondonmummy
Oooo no have I just completely wasted my money 🫤 frigging hell I had hoped it would be a sleep miracle !!

@DrinkingAllTheGin ah I see, I think it says on the nhs antenatal website it starts at 25 . Hope your app went well today?

Belami · 23/02/2023 16:56

What prams everyone getting?

Dewintergarden · 23/02/2023 17:03

@Belami I'm getting a yoyo, everything else is too heavy for me to lift in and out of the car. I am thinking of buying it next month. How about you?

Kladebs · 23/02/2023 17:44

@Belami im still having a nightmare finding a double suitable for 2 newborns that'll go on buses etc. I've found the one actually, but it's not within my budget and can't find it second hand anywhere.
Think I'm gonna just get a cheap one for now then get a hauck duett when they're a bit older. I had it with my boys and it was the best pushchair I ever had, as a single and a double x

theblueflowers · 23/02/2023 17:57

@Belami so many people rave about them being a lifesaver, which is why I got it in the first place, so hopefully it will suit you!

Junebaby30 · 23/02/2023 19:06

@Belami I’m thinking a bugaboo but they have just released a new one so I can’t decide whether to try and get the fox 3 discounted or get the fox 5 but the fox 5 seems expensive and not that much difference. Is anyone else looking at this?

We opted for discounted 🦊3

tigerlily0 · 23/02/2023 20:56

@firsttimelondonmummy omg I really didn't like the bbhug me either and I looked online so much to see if it was just me and I couldn't find even 1 bad review, I only had it 3 days and then returned it, don't get the hype at all! I'm going to get one off Amazon because I still have SPD in front pubic bone.

@Belami I'm going to get the doona- for appts and school runs etc. and we already have the joolz day pray and carrycot and everything from previous baby.

tigerlily0 · 23/02/2023 21:03

Can anyone recommend any bras? Iv been wearing bralets since I found out I was pregnant. But I want something with atleast a bit more support, esp as they have gone bigger !

DrinkingAllTheGin · 23/02/2023 21:14

The appointment went well thanks. Bubs is being well behaved and thanks to the weight loss in trimester 1, I'm still lighter than my booking in appointment!

firsttimelondonmummy · 23/02/2023 21:29

@tigerlily0 M&S are brilliant.
They not only have loads of options but do a free fitting too.
(Me a year ago wearing Agent Provocateur would be so sad for me rn in M&S bra’s 😂)

OP posts:
Babybaby66 · 23/02/2023 21:34

@Belami i also went for a highly discounted fox 3, did then see the 5 be released but for me I wasn’t sure the new features were worth the extra price - ordered it in a sale being told it would take 8 weeks to arrive and it arrived in 48 hours so now have a pram in the house much earlier than planned….

tigerlily0 · 23/02/2023 21:36

@firsttimelondonmummy haha tbh I was happy for the excuse to wear comfy loungey bralets as I'm wfh and wearing big jumpers and jackets. But going on holiday in 2 weeks and I'm going to look a state if I don't get extra support.

I got some padded Bralets from M&S might have to go back and see what else they have maternity wise. Going to look at seraphine too

toomanysausages · 23/02/2023 21:55

I like the TU soft bras. They aren't boned but comfortable and give more lift than going bra-less (my favourite way to be at the moment).
