@BellaTheDarkOverlord that does sound difficult.

My worry is that DH doesn't drive and taxis are rare as rocking horse shit round here. Parents live 40 mins away. SIL is 20 mins away.
Might have to have an 'on call ' list for people who would be willing to drive me!

DrinkingAllTheGin · 14/02/2023 19:02

All quiet for 24 hours. Hope everyone is doing OK.

Happy valentines day everyone

Has anyone booked A baby moon? Thinking of a UK break but can't decide where

ImHopeful2023 · 14/02/2023 19:25

Hi all hope everyone is doing ok ... Me and my Hb booked a weekend away for our baby moon . I'm 24 weeks today anyone know when we should count baby movements mine still feel like flutters mostly in morning and night

HalWin2221 · 14/02/2023 20:12

@DrinkingAllTheGin we’ve booked 5 nights in Tenerife 🥰 I’ll be 26 weeks when we go!

PurBal · 14/02/2023 20:15

@DrinkingAllTheGin didn’t do one for DS1 because of COVID but considering a weekend in Exmouth.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 14/02/2023 20:38

We're considering Legoland in July as DD will be missing the holiday we had to cancel. We'd go for one night only but she'd enjoy it. Dd2 will hopefully be a month at least and hopefully I'll have recovered enough. Not going away before then as we need to save.

Kelvie103 · 14/02/2023 23:04

We were thinking about the canary Islands too but my husband wasn't too keen and I started worrying about something going wrong while we were abroad. Instead we've booked 5 nights in the Peak District at the end of March when I'll be 26 weeks. It's a lovely little 1 bedroom cottage on a farm in the middle of nowhere but with lots of nice pubs for dinners nearby. Taking a bit of a chance on the weather but we figured if the weather is terrible we can take some books and sit inside and relax. We both can't wait, we had a really hard year last year due to various things and need some time away just to ourselves!

Zaalfruit · 15/02/2023 03:38

Oh reading the above messages has really made me want to go on holiday . Can’t even discuss with husband as currently we aren’t on speaking terms . He just has been annoying me so much 😂😂 i think it might be pregnancy hormones everyone and everything is annoying me. Also why can’t I sleep past 3am !!!!

Babybaby66 · 15/02/2023 03:58

@Zaalfruit same here, gets to about 3.30 every morning and I’m wide awake. It’s exhausting!

I’ve got a week in Tenerife coming up…my last ‘adults only’ hotel for a while!!

summerpoolandsun · 15/02/2023 07:35

Our babymoon is going better now. After the initial stress of baby movements. I’m almost 23 weeks and have an anterior placenta so still early and feelings are muffled anyway. Trying to remember that.

Anyway. It’s been an amazing break. We are Londoners and went for Edinburgh for our babymoon. The city is so vibrant and pretty, loads to do. Very hilly, we’ve spent a lot of time sat on a tour bus 😂Which is fine as it’s so pretty. So many beautiful volcanic hills in the centre. We’ve been super lucky with sunny weather.

I would have liked to have gone a bit later but we have an older child so are tied into school holidays. Next chance is April 1st…I still fancy doing something then. But maybe 1 night only and closer.

AstroH · 15/02/2023 08:35

Hope everyone had a lovely Valentines Day 💘

We got dressed up went out for dinner to celebrate what will be our last one as a family of 2. I also had my 25 week midwife appointment yday (baby had a higher heart rate than normal but was moving about lots so apparently that raises if?) because I’m off to Tenerife with my mum & sister next week. A sort of family babymoon. Weather is looking a bit mixed but I’m excited for the all inclusive life 😜

DH and I are then going away end of March to southern Spain (Seville, Granada). I have made it v clear I will not be up for non stop sightseeing, which is what he loves to do!

Has anyone experienced pregnancy tooth crumbling? One of the sides of mine crumbled away yesterday while I was eating and I swallowed it!!! I have a filing in that tooth so it’s not painful (yet) but I’m a bit shocked!

Belami · 15/02/2023 09:21

So last few nights I've noticed I'm waking up lots with a feeling that I'm not breathing right in my sleep , like I'm holding my breath or something. Very strange! Hubs told me I was snoring like a trooper last night too which I never do.

Bit concerned I've somehow developed sleep apnea in pregnancy 🤔going to speak to midwife about it next week at my 24 week app if it carries on as I've read this can affect blood pressure & baby if it's that.

Hopefully it's not that.!!!

Anyone else ever had similar? I'm not overweight & was never a drinker or smoker prior to pregnancy.

PurBal · 15/02/2023 10:28

@Belami Are sleeping on your side? I can’t be on my back now, even feet up on the sofa as it’s uncomfortable. Definitely speak to MW though.

I’m struggling with work, there have been a lot of changes in the last 12 ish months and I ended up walking out this morning. I figured that being reduced to tears before 9am wasn’t something I could hack. Messaged my line manager as was going to properly explode if I spoke to him face to face. ACAS have advised there is clear pregnancy discrimination but I don’t have the energy to raise a grievance. It was the straw that broke the camels back really, I have struggled with my workload due to antenatal appointments (I have extra), and despite asking for consideration (with a doctors note) I’m being asked to make up the work.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 15/02/2023 11:15

@PurBal I'm struggling a bit with work but opposite to others. I'm restricted at work (being CID police) so they don't let me do much. I'm bored most days and feel like I'm just a lump of useless flesh currently where everyone else is running around like blue arsed flies. I feel everyone looks down on me not doing much but I'm not allowed. I'm making drinks rounds for everyone to make up 😂

tigerlily0 · 15/02/2023 11:36

I'm looking to book egypt mid march, last hol as a family of 4. I really want some proper heat and relaxation so looking at doing a full on all inclusive hotel where kids can play and not annoy me lol. Let's see if it goes ahead, my mum has surgery a week before it and even though I have siblings who will help her I feel a bit guilty about going

DrinkingAllTheGin · 15/02/2023 14:27

Ladies, tell me if I'm being delusional.
Had a big group holiday booked for 18 months (20 people) it's in the UK, weekend only, however its 2 weeks before my due date.
I'm organising it.
Would you assume you might be able to go or would you pull out now? It's about 2 hours from home. I'm happy to pay our part and keep my fingers crossed and see how it goes but not sure if I'm kidding myself.

PurBal · 15/02/2023 14:33

That’s brave @DrinkingAllTheGin. I’m usually in the “go for it” camp. Maybe see how you feel and decide the week before if you’re happy to pay anyway.

pippabg · 15/02/2023 14:56

Is anybody else feeling really emotional at the moment? I've gotten a bit overwhelmed a few times and just started crying. The other night I was going swimming, but the car journey made me feel sick and then i started worrying about the swimming lanes and being too slow and then worrying about swimming for the first time pregnant, although I know it's perfectly safe. Just broke down in fits of tears! Starting to feel quite vulnerable and overwhelmed thinking about the effects everything I do has on baby.

It happened the same at work today - started to feel very dizzy and lightheaded, but knew I had lots to do, and just wanted to cry. Maybe I'm just feeling sorry for myself!

@purbal your work sound really inconsiderate and it's clear they need to do more to support you. After feeling unwell this morning, I was asked if I wanted to go home and they organised a taxi so I didn't need to get the train back! Maybe you can talk to them about making some adjustments? I hope there's someone there who you feel comfortable talking to.

We're just having a weekend in a beachfront house on the Kent coast. Just want to see the sea and feel the fresh air! Normally I love travelling abroad, but worried I'd be so tired that I won't enjoy it!

ScrantonDunderMifflin · 15/02/2023 17:24

@PurBal this is truly terrible they're asking you to make up for it.
I know you feel you don't have the energy for grievance but I think you have a solid case. If you feel like fighting a week or two later, could you still do it? How are you feeling?

Kladebs · 15/02/2023 20:20

@PurBal your work sound horrible. I know it seems probably overwhelming, but definitely think about putting in a grievance.

I've been for another cervical scan today. They always check babies too, which gives me reassurance over twin Bs movements. She's just lazy I reckon, and takes a day off exercise sometimes.
Cervix is still looking good and long, they've said I won't need anymore scans on it now.
What wasn't fun was the 4 hour round trip to get there and back, on uncomfortable bus seats 🤣 distracted myself with true crime podcasts!

Belami · 15/02/2023 20:43

@PurBal yeah I'm sleeping on my side! Can't work out what's going on tbh but I'm a bit freaked out waking up gasping for air. Absolutely fine when I'm awake.

Oh god that sounds awful, bless you. Definitely put a grievance in , pregnancy is a protected characteristic and it's clear discrimination. Everyone should be allowed time for antenatal appointments.

tigerlily0 · 15/02/2023 20:46

Is anyone else super super stretched by evening. I actually can't hack it this evening and it's making me feel so upset:(. The stretch is just under my breasts and my belly is so round and hard

LT103 · 15/02/2023 21:41

@tigerlily0 I’m def bloated on top of bump in the evening so it is always firmer and bigger by night time

PurBal · 15/02/2023 21:52

Thank you for the support @Kladebs @Belami @ScrantonDunderMifflin @pippabg
@BellaTheDarkOverlord that sounds very frustrating!
I have spent most of the day in bed or in tears, really think I’ve reached my limit with the stress and pressure. They say the right things about supporting me but the actions are different. I didn’t hear from them all day, not even an acknowledgment that I left. I opened my work laptop to send an email saying I won’t be in tomorrow (I feel physically sick with it all) and have received a letter pages long insisting they are supportive and that I see occupational health. I don’t mind per se, if it’s truly supportive, but they’ve shown no support so far despite repeated requests for it. Feels like a lot of hot air I suppose. I already have the midwifery team and 3 different specialists. I feel I am receiving really amazing care and I’m well looked after. I’m not sure what OH will say that my medical team haven’t, do I need to ask these specialists for reports on my health? Is that something I am supposed to provide? Can’t they take my word for it? Eg “physio has advised sitting for no longer than X length of time” and “my gp has advised I commute less often” I have fit notes for some things and not others. In my last pregnancy my line manager, same company but they have moved on, managed my needs (which included many of the same recommended adjustments) without the need for me to attend OH.
I have been worried about the baby a lot today, got some painful twinges but think it was just the stress. Movements this evening so I’m sure baby is ok.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 15/02/2023 21:56

@tigerlily0 Definitely more bloated by evening and hurts to lay down now too. Having to prop myself up with pillows to try find a comfy spot. Still full of this stupid cough cold thing which is stick waking me up at 3-5am.

Dd2 hasn't been as active today but I've been up alot more out shopping for food so maybe me walking has lulled her to sleep more. She's currently practising her gymnastics inside me.
