@leanneb94 i had a panic about this so called the midwife unit at my hospital. They told me that after my 20 week scan I just need to go to the reception desk with the scans and a midwife will sign off on a MAT1B there and then.

Feels like info they should have offered rather than me having to ask! If you’re worried, I would definitely give your unit a call.

My maternity notes say it’s usually provided at the 24 week appointment. As this is my second child, I don’t get a 24 week appointment, hence my panic.

@rach971 ahh okay fair enough, then you might be lucky. When's your scan?
ELCS - is that elective c section? I'm planning on that too.
@septembersapphire7 aiming to go off end June, due July 19th but should be about a week earlier with a c section hopefully. Got my consultant appointment at 28 weeks.

Snap @MamaSJ15 - I’m due the day after you! Planning mat leave from the first working day of July, so - given I’m planning an elective c section - should be two weeks of leave before the baby is born.

Last time I planned to work until a few days before the C section. Had to pull it back by a week and a half because I was just so enormous and so uncomfortable (Summer in Delhi - it was very very hot and very very humid). I’m looking forward to two weeks of just sorting stuff out and resting.

I had been pretty set on another c-section as I'm a bit worried about vbac but I'm gonna have a 2 year old to run about after this time so now I'm undecided 😅 I'm consultant led and have my appointment with him on April 18th so might discuss it then.

Next midwife appointment is March 20th for me but I've noticed spots/floaters in my eyes. I had pre-eclampsia in a previous pregnancy. However I'm only 22+3 so it would be extremely early for that, albeit not impossible. I'm probably just being paranoid but will watch for other symptoms.

@habiller thats wonderful your child may grow up bilingual! You’re in France right? Permanently?

Im now 20 weeks and still can’t feel movement. Anterior placenta crew - how much movement are you feeling?

I had an anterior placenta last time and was 22weeks when I felt movement xx

nicc1000 · 03/03/2023 07:16

I am likely to be induced 2 weeks early due to diabetes and will work up to then if I can. Only taken 3 months maternity leave before so want to maximise time after.

rach971 · 03/03/2023 07:19

@RandomCatGenerator I'm 19 weeks with an anterior placenta and I'm not sure what I've felt yet tbh 🙈 I have felt little tickles inside, but I couldn't be sure they're baby. Also felt some 'thuds' lower down which I'm more certain might be baby because I can't see what else it could be.

@RandomCatGenerator I'm 22+1 and I'd say it's been definitely daily since 19 weeks but was mostly evenings when I'm led down on my back. The last few days though I can feel her throughout the day and even down the centre where I know my placenta is so she's definitely get stronger 💪🏻 haha. My teenager led for an hour last night playing her music and flashing her phone torch and I'd say I felt her every couple of minutes for the whole time which was pretty magic! X

MamaSJ15 · 03/03/2023 08:26

@RandomCatGenerator yeah I tried to work to two weeks before due date last time but ended with leaving an extra week early cause I was very uncomfortable! Got my scan this morning so we'll see if they change the dates at all, they did on my last pregnancy!
I've also got an anterior placenta, I do feel him move but not as much as I would have hoped at this point. It's getting more obvious though now. But it only really started about a week ago.

@habiller I sneezed yesterday and it triggered the lightning crotch 😂😫 Not had it for a while before that

clouise30 · 03/03/2023 08:57

@habiller it really was 😊! Especially because she hasn't been the most excited to say the least about my pregnancy so it's lovely to see her warming to the idea of the baby and being a big sister!

I found that at my scan seeing her wiggle about and knowing she's bigger but that I still couldn't feel her a lot really helped with my panic of not feeling her if that makes sense! It's the unknown that always gets my anxiety so seeing it on the screen really helped - not long now I hope it comes quickly for you!! Xx

RandomCatGenerator · 03/03/2023 10:27

I am in constant crotch discomfort. It’s really sore when I move especially rolling over in bed, sitting up, standing up and walking. Can’t really avoid those activities.

I'm starting to feel movements from the outside of my tummy, but it's baby 3 and I do optimum placenta placement. Some days are less than others and I can only feel the very big kicks. Every time my partner touches my belly he stops kicking though

Gizzymac · 03/03/2023 13:37

I've still not felt anything I could reliably say was a baby movement - anyone else in this boat? 21 weeks and have an anterior poster. Had my scan last week and she said to expect to feel something in the next few weeks. Trying not to worry, but it will be reassuring to feel something!

I’ll be 22 weeks tomorrow. I first felt the baby properly kick at 20 weeks and everyday since then. I also have an anterior placenta and this is my first baby. I’m not really showing yet either. Had a flat tummy prior to pregnancy and there’s a little something there now.

Porcupette · 03/03/2023 17:41

@Gizzymac i didn’t feel anything with my first until 22 weeks+. I’ll be 19 weeks tomorrow and nothing yet - I know I have an anterior placenta this time, no idea what I had last time!

AnxiousAnnie94 · 03/03/2023 20:37

@babybrainfart me too! 22+3 and am starting to feel the big kicks, although as soon as DH puts his hand there, he stops kicking.
I can't wait for him to feel a kick and see the expression on his face 💙

RandomCatGenerator · 03/03/2023 23:38

Spot on 20 weeks and I’ve just felt proper movement!!!!!

so relieved.

@RandomCatGenerator That's amazing! 😁

Anyone been weighing themselves? I weighed myself today and I'm a couple of lbs less than I was around 4/5 days ago. So worried baby isn't growing or something has happened :( I've been eating the same as I usually do and I've not been sick or anything like that.

candycrush789 · 04/03/2023 15:51

Ladies I’ve felt movement everyday from 18 weeks. Had my 20 weeks scan on Tuesday and everything was perfect. For the last 3 days movement has been reduced, today I think I’ve felt about 2/3 movements. I’ve got a Doppler so used that and I found it but was very faint so I don’t know if he’s got himself in a funny position. I’ve no pain or bleeding. Could it be that he’s still too small to feel everything? I know he moved cos earlier he was under my belly button and now he’s higher but didn’t feel anything! Would any of yous be worried? Xx

rach971 · 04/03/2023 16:51

@candycrush789 I don't think it's anything to worry about, in the sense that they are still small and can move around. The midwife said that movement is only tracked from 28 weeks for this reason. They can also turn with their back to your front, so they're kicking the opposite way to your tummy.

On the other hand though, me being a worrier, I'd definitely be worried 😂 But that's just me and what I'm like.

You could try the usual tricks like drinking something cold, gently roll side to side a little, shine a torch onto your tummy. Or phone up the hosp if you're really concerned but I do honestly think it's normal at this stage.
