@Porcupette yeah we can only have paracetamol. I just don't want to have to take paracetamol every day for the next 20 weeks. I've been dealing with it so far but took paracetamol this morning and to be honest I've felt a lot better today! So I think I will have to take it on and off. Not sure on the support belt, no idea where they would support if that makes sense?

dunkedbiscuit · 01/03/2023 20:50

@MamaSJ15 can you ask for a physio referral? They see you pretty quick in pregnancy

MamaSJ15 · 01/03/2023 21:15

@dunkedbiscuit the midwife said if it got worse to call them back up and they can refer me. I'm hoping it doest get to that but I will if I need to.

Mummy2Girls22 · 01/03/2023 21:47

@MamaSJ15 I have suffered with SPD in all my pregnancies and I find I get it sooner with each one, I have it again this time I'm now 23weeks and will definitely be ordering another support belt to help hold my bump and take away some pressure on my pelvis. Vinted has some, I'd definitely recommend one as it will only get worse as your bump grows 😣 xx

rach971 · 02/03/2023 07:35

Anyone else sleeping badly? 😫

Couldn't get comfy at all last night. Kept waking up for a wee and each time it was taking me ages to get back to sleep. Tried all different positions, with a pillow between my legs, without, with my v-pillow in different positions... all sorts.

Some nights I sleep okay and others it's like last night. Doesn't help I had a bunged up but runny nose as well. I just want sleeeeeeep but I have a child to get to school 😂

MamaSJ15 · 02/03/2023 09:18

@Mummy2Girls22 thank you for the advice. Where about do you get the pain? I don't seem to be able to find much information for the pain at the back rather than the front. Do you think a support belt would help with the pain at the bottom of my tailbone area?

leanneb94 · 02/03/2023 15:28

Has anyone had their MAT1B form yet? I've had my 20 week scan now and just wondered when I should expect to get this, itching to get things organised with work now

clouise30 · 02/03/2023 15:58

Hi @leanneb94 my midwife said at my 16 week appointment that I would get mine at my 24 week appointment which is in a couple of weeks. She did say though if it was causing an issue at work I could call her and ask for it early and she wouldn't have a problem with doing it. Maybe worth asking if you want to get everything all in order?

rach971 · 02/03/2023 16:04

I think I'm going to ask at my 20 week scan for the MatB1 if poss. My next midwife appointment isn't until 28 weeks so I'd rather have it sooner if I can 😬

MamaSJ15 · 02/03/2023 16:50

@rach971 I think it's only your midwife that can issue your MAT B1 form so the sonographer wouldn't be able to. I mean it's worth asking but I don't think they can.

leanneb94 · 02/03/2023 16:55

@clouise30 Thank you, I might give her a call then if I can get it earlier. My midwife appointment isn't until 6th April so seems very long to wait for it now

rach971 · 02/03/2023 18:15

@MamaSJ15 At our hosp (not sure if it's the same for all) we see a midwife after the scans for BP and urine check etc. It's not my specific midwife, but I was thinking they could possibly issue it?

BackOfTheMum5net · 02/03/2023 18:18

I got my MAT1B after my 20 week scan, but we had a joint appointment with a consultant and midwife on account of being a slightly tricky pregnancy.

septembersapphire7 · 02/03/2023 18:32

When is everyone planning on starting Mat leave? I thought I’d ask to leave at 37 weeks and take 9 months off.

It’s allstarting to feel a bit real now doesn’t it?!

rach971 · 02/03/2023 18:52

@septembersapphire7 Last day of June. I'm due July 28th but having ELCS so that's usually scheduled for around a week before due date

I may be mad! But due 4th July and planning on finishing work 30th June 🤣
Obviously, that's all being well and depending on how I am, but we are not in a situation where I can take unpaid maternity leave, so can only take the 9 months SMP, so want as much time with the baby as possible and not have time off before hand before they're born. Obviously I know they could come late in which case I could have up to 2 weeks off without baby and in the case baby comes early, I will just have to start maternity leave whenever they come.
Am planning on going back part time when I return so I don't have too much mum guilt!

It's so hard!

dunkedbiscuit · 02/03/2023 20:42

Im planning on finishing at 37 weeks on 16th June but taking 2 weeks annual leave at that
point and starting Mat leave at 39 weeks. My DS came at 38 weeks so don’t want to leave it too late!

MamaSJ15 · 02/03/2023 20:48

@rach971 ahh okay fair enough, then you might be lucky. When's your scan?
ELCS - is that elective c section? I'm planning on that too.
@septembersapphire7 aiming to go off end June, due July 19th but should be about a week earlier with a c section hopefully. Got my consultant appointment at 28 weeks.

Porcupette · 02/03/2023 21:05

I’m due 29th and since I’m a teacher I’m hoping to make it to the end of term (~17th july ish) might be tight though because I’m pretty sure we’ll be going the elective c section route too - had a pretty scary emergency one last time and basically have none of the signs that a VBAC is likely to work 😂

I’m already dreading going back to work, took 9 months with baby 1 but not sure we’re going to afford that this time round!

Porcupette · 02/03/2023 21:07

@AnxiousAnnie94 Not mad, I had the same plan with our first, didn’t want to be off and then have them late and have used a good chunk of leave before they even got here! Because of the way the school holidays lined up, I started my mat leave a week before her due date, and she came 2 days before she was due.

AnxiousAnnie94 · 02/03/2023 21:14

@Porcupette I am a nursery practitioner so poor planning from me (!) If I was due a few weeks later, I would make it to end of term. Instead will finish end of June, a matter of weeks before the end of term and won't get to see my littlies off to 'big school', can't be helped, but with how my hormones are at the moment, it's really bothering me 🤣

rach971 · 02/03/2023 21:58

@MamaSJ15 It's next week, I'll be 19+6. Yeah elective c-section. I had a section with my daughter because she was breech, but I've been having some heart issues lately so consultant has said it's best that it's either a c-section again, or I can go vaginal but with an epidural and as little pushing as is possible. Waiting on results of an echocardiogram so I think I'll see what they are before making a proper decision, but leaning towards the section again.

MamaSJ15 · 02/03/2023 22:02

@rach971 ah yeah that all makes sense.
Ive got my scan tomorrow, will be 20+2. I had a very traumatic birth with my little girl, so going for the C-section for peace of mind really.
