@habiller I totally get that feeling. I'm feeling quite detached. It's almost like I'm making the plans and buying a few bits for someone else! I was like this last time as my first pregnancy ended in loss so I really struggled. It's a weird feeling and it's a shame as you see so many happy glowy pregnant women who speak none stop about baby and their excitement and plans - which is super lovely but I know I'll never be one of those people due to past trauma.

Hope you manage through the day after a bad sleep!

Sending love @habiller and @squirrelnutkins1 I can very much relate after 2 losses last year ❤️

Im also in the elective section gang this time after lots of complications during labour with my first (we were both fine eventually but it was a helluva experience I don’t care to repeat!)

Nadinya · 01/02/2023 09:02

Had my 20 week scan and both boys were amazing and actually cooperating for the most part. Everything came back positive but baby 1's femur is in the 5th percentile, they told me all is fine but I couldn't help googling and being a tad worried.

Anyone had this before and have any stories to share?

rach971 · 01/02/2023 10:10

@habiller I'm feeling like that too after a past mmc. I definitely think I'll feel better once I start feeling movement, but I almost forget I'm pregnant sometimes. Feels surreal sometimes. I'll believe it when it's here 😂

ferretlass · 01/02/2023 10:56

Hi everyone, been quietly watching the thread. Wanted to wait till we knew the gender before posting (and make sure we know everything is healthy) Had a private scan and found out we are having a baby boy!!! Me and DH are so excited. Just wanted to post finally as the thread has been a great help to us both and just wanted to add to the positivity. We used window to the womb, they where brilliant. We got a little teddy bear with the heart beat recorded such a nice keep sake. They where just amazing there as well through the whole process!! Highly recommended. Hope all you other ladies pregnancies are going well!

O forgot to mention currently bang on 17 weeks, had the scan at 16+5, they gave us a 4d sneak peek as well. Was amazing!

pizzawinecake · 01/02/2023 11:13

@ferretlass - congrats!

@habiller - I completely feel you. I've had a mmc before and this is an IVF pregnancy and really struggle to believe this is real sometimes and that it will end in a baby. Really trying not to be so fear based but at the moment can't even tell my grandma until I know my 20 week scan is ok- so much excitement and joy has gone during this process. I think I'll feel better when I'm sure this bump is not just fat and I can feel kicks (though gender scan said my placenta is anterior placed so that might be a while.

rach971 · 01/02/2023 12:16

@pizzawinecake Mine is anterior also 😫

BurbageBrook · 01/02/2023 12:22

Hi all I recently posted my own thread but I didn't see this one, probs should have checked first! I'm 17 weeks and 1 day and last week at 16 weeks found out I'm having a baby girl 😁 though I still feel like they might have got it wrong and it's a boy! No idea why just sort of felt like I was having a boy. First baby. Oh and they said I have an anterior placenta but sounds like that's no big deal. How's everyone doing?

squirrelnutkins1 · 01/02/2023 13:26

@ferretlass congrats and welcome!

squirrelnutkins1 · 01/02/2023 13:27

I'm posterior this time. I had anterior last time but it didn't cause any issues x

dunkedbiscuit · 01/02/2023 14:19

welcome @ferretlass and @BurbageBrook !

dunkedbiscuit · 01/02/2023 14:22

I totally understand that @pizzawinecake I only told my Nan this week (at 17 weeks) after our private gender scan, but it made me very panicky. I just can’t stand the thought of having to ‘untell’ people all over again. I hope as the weeks pass and the wriggles and kicks start increasing we can all start believing it will happen for us all this time

NAJ13 · 01/02/2023 16:20

Just found out we're having our third boy!

Coffeeforlife · 01/02/2023 16:46

@NAJ13 me too. Life's going to be.... interesting!

This is my dread too. We just told people at the weekend.

NAJ13 · 01/02/2023 16:53

@Coffeeforlife It definitely is! Even though I was expecting it it's taking a bit to fully process it!

MrNook · 01/02/2023 18:29

Hey everyone hope it's okay to join, I'm 18 weeks exactly and due July 5th with my second baby!

I was wondering if you have a Facebook group set up? We have a Mumsnet group for my daughters birth month and all message in a WhatsApp chat every day still and lots have met up in person so something similar might be nice to all get to know each other and ask questions etc

Happy to set it up if anyone's interested

rach971 · 01/02/2023 19:18

@MrNook There is one but I can't remember if this group started it, or the other July group... 🙈 I'm also not sure how to link to it 🙈😂

dunkedbiscuit · 01/02/2023 19:43

congrats @Coffeeforlife and @NAJ13 , more boys! How old are your other kiddos?

I’d also be interested in the Facebook link if anyone has it please?

can I ask what peopled are doing about exercise? If / what are you doing? I’ve not started this pregnancy at the best weight so really keen to remain active and manage weight gain, but also wary of doing too much!

I managed to figure out how to get the link www.facebook.com/groups/662719028737305/?ref=share

dunkedbiscuit · 01/02/2023 20:08

@habiller ha 😂 yes as the username suggests biscuit eating would generally get my vote!
sadly our local pregnancy yoga group has stopped but I loved it when pregnant with my son and still see those other mums now, so can understand why you’d rather do that than yoga with lovely old Doris from down the road 🙈

swimming I think is a good shout , I always enjoy it once im there it’s just the whole getting in / out / dry / changed that puts me off but I know it’s worth it really (and no where near as hard core as your wild swimming!). I went to the gym today and did only a couple of minutes on the cross trainer and got quite a lot of discomfort in my pelvis, so stopped straight away but that made me a bit nervy

I think maybe just increasing my daily steps (I also own a crazy cocker spaniel) and maybe swimming a couple of times a week?
