I’ve got some pretty good stuff in the sales. It’s more important in my opinion to have comfy maternity bottoms, last time I just sized up in primark tops and was fine!

RandomCatGenerator · 30/01/2023 23:03

Silly question - if it’s your second, do you not get an NHS 16 week scan?

Is anyone else getting the worst stomach growls? 😂 It's only started the last two or three days but wow it's loud 😂 I'm not even hungry when it happens either.

clouise30 · 31/01/2023 07:51

@RandomCatGenerator no it's still only the 13 and 20 week scan on the NHS with your first unless you are having extra scans for things like cervix measuring after things like lletz procedures or growth scans a bit later on for stuff like higher bmi etc 😊

MamaSJ15 · 31/01/2023 12:37

@RandomCatGenerator no still just the two. I'm a bit gutted really cause I'd love to have more!

babybrainfart · 31/01/2023 12:51

So exciting people are finding out the genders. I'm 16 weeks tomorrow and find out next Tuesday what team we are. I have one of each and happy either way. I do think it would be nice for my oldest (a girl) to have a little sister though

Mummy2Girls22 · 31/01/2023 13:45

Aww wow congratulations to you all on finding out the sex 🥰 we're not finding out this time, we did with both girls but so excited for a surprise this time 😆 19 weeks today 🎉 apart from the growing bump and tiredness I'm feeling pretty good. counting down now until my next scan on 14th Feb ❤️

Honeybee1989 · 31/01/2023 14:13

Hi all! I’m 17+3 weeks pregnant and expecting a July baby. I’m going to have my gender scan on the 23rd of February and it feels like I’ve been waiting for ages (last scan was on the 4th of January).
My bump is still really tiny (although I’m very bloated at night), and was wondering if this is normal? It’s my first baby (had previously two miscarriages happened at 6 weeks) and I know with first you don’t show very soon and also I always had a bit of belly myself so probably I don’t see any difference for now, but still wondering if it’s ok being tiny at 17 weeks.

Welcome @Ela2023 and @dunkedbiscuit !

@habiller yeah I’m doing some back sleeping. As with my first pregnancy, I’ve got a lot of bloat early on and am finding it so hard to get comfortable. Until 20 weeks I’m just trying to get to sleep any old way!

thanks so much :)

Hi Im 16+4 today and not showing at all, second baby. I was tiny on my first all the way through. I think its just different for everyone. I'm booked in for a private gender scan the 11th Feb :)

99pctpractice · 31/01/2023 15:49

@Honeybee1989 not at all unusual to be slow to get to a bump with the first. My first I didn't tell work until 20 weeks and they were shocked because you could barely see anything. I'm 16 weeks now and have a little bump that most people probably wouldn't notice, except that I'm getting really bloated in the evenings! I haven't told work yet this time either...trying to figure out how late I can leave it...

Rutennotou · 31/01/2023 16:31

Congratulations on all the gender scans, boys seem to be winning at the moment 😁

I have the most severe back pain today. Like the very bottom of my back is agony and around my lower abdomen and down my thighs is period like pains. I can feel baby moving away. I'm 18+1 today. If it persists I'll call my midwife in the morning, just don't want to call and be told its nothing and it's normal. My c section area has given me problems since the day I had it so wondering if its linked and its making the normal stretching and stuff more painful 🥲

Writerscompanion · 31/01/2023 18:15

Exciting to hear people finding out the sex and also feeling movements! I'm 15+3 so a little wait before the next scan and nothing on the movement front.

Sympathies to those feeling less than glowing - I am suffering with awful constipation and feeling terrible. Partner on way back from pharmacy with latest batch of remedies but feeling like nothing is working and I'll never go again!

squirrelnutkins1 · 31/01/2023 18:24

@Writerscompanion
Oh I feel your pain! Literally from the moment I found out I was preg I've had terrible constipation. Please share if you find something that works!!!!

squirrelnutkins1 · 31/01/2023 18:26

@Rutennotou I've wondered the same about my c section scar. I had some uncomfortable feelings across there earlier in the pregnancy. I'm scared of it getting worse. Have you thought about what kind of birth you'll have this time? I'm leaning towards elective c section following a hideous emergency section last time.

Writerscompanion · 31/01/2023 18:37

@squirrelnutkins1 will do. So far I've had prune juice, magnesium, Fybogel, probiotic yoghurt, kiwi, apple, smoothie - nothing doing. Just had my first dose of Lactulose (which tastes like golden syrup) and now munching sugar free polos in desperation!

Rutennotou · 31/01/2023 19:54

@squirrelnutkins1 I had a scheduled section last time round as baby was breech, think I'll opt for another one, just worried with the issues I've had after the section that vbac isn't a wise move. I've had spasms and pain like I'm tearing internally since I had it 21 months ago! Went to my GP after 6 months or so about it and got nowhere lol. Hoping it'll not cause you too much trouble x

MamaSJ15 · 31/01/2023 20:34

@Writerscompanion also suffering from constipation over here! Sever bloating too. 15+6 today, also not feeling movement, keep thinking I'm feeling something but with the constant bloat and wind I'm.assuming it's just that for now.

Oh blimey. Sorry to hear that, sounds awful! When I saw the consultant she said there's a small risk of internal tearing when having a vbac following a section. That was enough to make me think nope to vbac!

Wow you've tried so much. Can you not go at all? Sorry for the TMI but I'm just going like a rabbit 🙈🙈🙈 the joys of pregnancy eh!!!

Someone mentioned hip pain, mine are so painful in the night. I feel like I'm waking up every hour to turn over cus of the pain 😞

Mummy2Girls22 · 31/01/2023 22:13

I'm suffering with constipation too been suffering from the start but I have really low iron aswell and been given tablets but I can't take them as they make it's 100% worse which really isn't helping how tried I am 😣
I had a elective section last time because she was breech but have opted for a vbac this time it might sound crazy but I loved my birth with my first and was up and about straight after. I really didn't enjoy the C-section 😣 I was told I can only go to 41 weeks then have to be inducted because you have a 1 in 200 chance of rupture after a previous section and also have to me monitored the whole way thought labour which will be very different from my first water birth but I'll keep everything crossed it goes to plan and baby comes on time.🤗

rach971 · 31/01/2023 22:40

I'll be having an elective cesarean this time. I had an emergency one with my daughter because she was breech and I really liked the whole experience. I never wanted to give birth anyway so I was secretly made up 🙈

MamaSJ15 · 31/01/2023 22:52

I'm planning on a C section this time also. I had a horrific birth with my first after a reaction to the induction and I can't even think about trying naturally this time!
