@Rose429 I felt the same. We had a 4D scan with DS at 28ish weeks and then nothing til he was born and it felt like forever!

Blocklynn · 04/01/2023 16:59

@Perexi fingers crossed your placenta moves.
I’m having a scan at 32 weeks to see if mine has moved since the 20 week scan.
If not they said I’d have another scan at 36 weeks.
If still hasn’t moved by then I would be referred to a consultant to book a caesarean.

Eastybaby19 · 04/01/2023 17:50

Place marking 🙌

I have scans every 2 weeks from I was 24 weeks to check fetal heart and measurements cord placenta etc due to being high risk.

Can't believe we are getting so close I’m 32 weeks on Friday, i was induced at 36+4 & had my son at 37 weeks last time so to think it could be anytime really!!

Anyone had any experience with reflexology to bring labour on? I’m trying to avoid induction & a section this time but due to medical reasons I won’t be going past my due date so I’d love labour to start on its own!! Have been looking into it was thinking of booking a session for 37 weeks and again at 38 weeks providing I don’t get Cholastasis or Pre E again! 🙏

Had a really vivid birth dream that's freaked me out. Labour was smooth in the dream, but I think I've woke up with a huge dose of reality that this IS happening very soon and I'll have a newborn again. I do not feel ready!! Aggghhh 😬
Any mum's of more than one (or expecting their second) get funny wobbles when their second was due... I don't know whether it's feeling apprehensive about the uncertainty of labour or how life for our family of three is going to get a huge shake up. All I know is I've woke up wanting to cry!

Yes 100% sooo anxious. I had a very traumatic first birth tho where we both nearly died and it’s taken me 12 years to consider another child 😂

closer it’s getting the more worried I get. Oddly more worried about home life the first few weeks as I really struggled the first time. However telling myself that this time is different as I’ve done it before it hopefully won’t be so overwhelming & fingers crossed I won’t be as poorly.

any one scared of going back to sleep deprivation ? My 12 year old son didn’t sleep till he was 3 and It was all soooo worth it but can’t help being apprehensive 😳😬 xx

Everyone whos having growth scans, when did you have your first? I'm 100% sure the midwife said first would be at 28 weeks, but hospital only seem to have the first one at 32 weeks. Left a message with the midwife to check but thought I'd see what the "norm" seems to be!

Mines at 32 weeks so in two weeks time. Going as obviously I want to cooperate and nice to see baby and make sure he’s ok..however I don’t trust them at all I got told my baby would be 5lb as he was measuring so small on scan and bank was tiny and he was 8lb 😳 this time ironically I’m measuring bang on normal but they want to do me growth scans to check if he’s too big (incase I go into labour naturally as I had a shoulder dystocia last time as 8lb baby was too big for my build so I’m booked elective section at 39 weeks if I don’t go into labour early)

so who knows - I don’t trust what they say baby is going to weigh anyway 😅 x

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 04/01/2023 18:14

Thanks everyone, I spoke to the midwife and she said it was originally from 28 weeks but they had a policy change just before Christmas and now it’s from 32 weeks! She basically said that even if they identified growth issues at 28 weeks baby is still much better in than out at that stage, whereas they would possibly consider delivery at 32 weeks if needed so made the 28 week one a bit pointless

Cats23 · 04/01/2023 18:17

Yes my growth scans are at 28weeks and 36, My 1st was born v prem and the last 3x considered high risk pregnancies as a result( Though all has been fine)

Babynum2 · 04/01/2023 19:43

If I wasn't nervous before about giving birth I am even more so now. Was discharged from hospital this morning and what a horrible stay it was. I feel so sorry for the NHS they are so overworked the hospital was so busy! There was 4 beds in triage and they was all full me being 1 of them and 8 people in the waiting area baring in mind some of them ladies had come in as they was in labour. There was a ladie practically giving birth in the hallway and only 1 senior midwife helping everyone I felt so sorry for her. I just hope I go in on a quiet day my anxiety is so bad.

firstlittleone · 04/01/2023 20:02

Has anyone any recommendations for muslin blankets??
i feel like all of them are plain colours and I fancy some patterns!

havanamama · 04/01/2023 20:07

Has anyone experienced any left side pain? Sort of belly button level, half way between belly button and side of the waist.

Is this round ligaments?

TeddyBeans · 04/01/2023 20:09

@Babynum2 sounds horrendous. The closer I get the more I worry about what the situation will be like when it's my turn. How are you feeling now? Have you managed to eat anything?

@firstlittleone I got two swaddle muslins from Aden and Anais, they've got lovely patterns on them. I love the one with the birds and leaves on. They do smaller ones for every day use but I wanted them specifically to cover the cot mattress (my cot is tiny). You can get them in boots

@Blondewave this is what worries me! I have heard of so many weight predictions being wildly inaccurate 🤷🏻‍♀️my fundal height is measuring huge and a follow up scan showed baby is on the larger side, waiting for another one to see if it levels out 🤞🏼

Cats23 · 04/01/2023 20:43

@Babynum2 , Ive worried about this on last 2x.
All my friends due same time have had a bad time as so overcrowded during their labours.
Thankfully, It was almost empty on both of mine.
A lot of my friends were turned away from the ward when coming in for inductions or csects- 2x were sent home on 3x occasions each from planned csects, one went into labour at home but had to have a csect due to high risk , not ideal when hospital is 1hr 15 away.
I was pretty adament though that I wouldnt be going home and would either wait in waiting room or get transferred to next hospital- This is because my dc 3 was born in an hr and I didnt fancy giving birth en route in car!

iratepirate · 04/01/2023 20:44

I’m getting extra scans, due to having several unexplained losses in the past. My first one should be next week.

dmb91 · 04/01/2023 21:26

Anyone else sick of being pregnant?

GreenIsle · 04/01/2023 21:34

I had a midwife appointment today and using the measuring tape they said that in 3 weeks it looked like my baby's growth had jumped up and so I would now need a growth scan. Luckily they were able to do the growth scan there and then and actual she's measuring on the small side. So have to get a rescan in 2 weeks.

Flittingaboutagain · 04/01/2023 21:55

Babynum2

I hope you get some good rest tonight. That sounds awful for all concerned.

Splashh · 04/01/2023 22:56

@dmb91 I just really miss a bottle of wine and a proper night out!!

Choc2022 · 05/01/2023 01:05

@AGirlsNameIsAryaStark due to GD I had a scan at 28 weeks (this week). Baby measuring on 97th centile. Im 5'1 so maybe concerning.

@dmb91 I feel pregnancy is wholly consuming me. All i seem to do is read and research but still so clueless!

Cats23 · 05/01/2023 05:39

Ive had 3hrs broken sleep ....
I am finding Im not sleeping well in this pregnancy though.
I am also finding it really hard to not think I will deliver the baby v.prem- my 1st Dc was born at 27weeks due to pre-eclampsia.
I have felt paranoid about prem births with the last 3x dc too but no issues, this pregnancy though, I feel more paranoid- there is zero to suggest a prem birth again.
Anybody else as paranoid?

LittleAcorn20 · 05/01/2023 07:31

@Choc2022 I feel that wholly consuming thing this time round too.
I feel like any spare moment I get im thinking about pregnancy or reading/researching.
And when I'm too busy to, it's niggling at the back of my head thinking "I must read up on xyz or organise xyz"
I really want to enjoy it a bit more. I loved being pregnant first time round. Second pregnancy not so much 😩

Bobduncan · 05/01/2023 08:03

Peacemaking 😘I'm also being sent for a growth scan as I'm measuring small. The midwife was sure to reiterate how inaccurate fundal measurements are, so I just hope little lady is OK! Xx

iratepirate · 05/01/2023 08:07

I’ve had such busy times with work etc over the past few months that I’ve really not had much spare time to devote to anything prep-wise.

Luckily we have already got everything we need from previous DC so no shopping required.

Also the way I deal with our previous experiences of both miscarriage and stillbirth has been not to allow myself to get too “excited” about it until we reach the full term mark. I don’t know whether that’s the way others would approach it, but it’s how I deal.

Cdoc · 05/01/2023 09:00

@Cats23 i do also feel this paranoid, first pregnancy and I have a lot of fluid and a baby that has jumped from 50th to 90th percentiles. Waiting to be sent for a diabetes test as I wasn’t in the groups to get one at the beginning.
Hope you’re not too tired today from the lack of sleep!

havanamama · 05/01/2023 10:21

@Cats23 I don't know what week you're in, but try to think that there's actually not that much left between now and full term.

For example, I'm 31 weeks and full term is 37 weeks, only 42 days and baby is full term.

If I went into labour now, it's also much better than many babies that are born at 25,26,etc weeks
