@Room4onemore busy week for you!

@beatingheartbaby it's one of my favourite feelings 🥰

@Perexi you can always say no to an induction. I think I'd pick a section over induction if I needed to get her out earlier than 39 weeks

Perexi · 16/01/2023 12:58

@Cuppasoupmonster no news here, good luck for the scan got my fingers crossed for you!

@TeddyBeans Yeah I think that's my leaning if it comes to it!

I have a 3d scan booked for this weekend which I'm quite excited for! Get too see his little face hopefully! We're taking both granny's to be too

Cuppasoupmonster · 16/01/2023 13:00

Awww how lovely Perexi enjoy! I had a 3D peek at about 20 weeks, he’s DH’s double 😱 even DH who ‘doesn’t see stuff like that’ was quite shocked by the uncanny resemblance 😂 DD looked very much like me as a baby, I ‘recognised’ her when she was born, but I don’t feel like ill recognise him! If that makes sense.

I will report back tomorrow - early morning scan so plenty of time for tea and tears in the afternoon if it doesn’t go my way…

How many weeks are you? There might still be time for it to move after tomorrow. I think they said to me if it hadn't moved at 32 they would check again at 36 before making the ultimate decision.

Oh wow really, that's very cool!

broomfig · 16/01/2023 14:03

Is anyone around Nunhead/Dulwich/Peckham due in March?

havanamama · 16/01/2023 14:47

Anyone planning to go traveling with their baby?
Any recommendations for travel prams / cots etc ?

Our pram was 1000£ investment for future babies to use as well, so I really don't want it to be chucked around in a Ryanair plane 🥲 so looking for a cheap, ideally nicely foldable second pram. Any recommendations?

Babynum2 · 16/01/2023 16:13

Just ordered the ickle bubba next to me from boots and I'm very excited to use it got 440 points aswell!

Bobduncan · 16/01/2023 16:33

Out of interest, if they want you to have an induction can you instead opt for a c section? Or will they push you towards an induction? I really don't want one after hearing stories about how painful they are 😯

TeddyBeans · 16/01/2023 16:42

@havanamama I got a £30 red kite umbrella stroller to throw about, definitely wouldn't be taking a £1000+ travel system abroad!

@Bobduncan I can't say from personal experience cuz I took the induction but I don't see why you couldn't request a section over induction. I think you just have to be really firm about what you want but don't quote me on it

Katdemar · 16/01/2023 16:46

@havanamama

I went with the BabyZen Yo-yo 2 as our main buggy/pram, and this is one you fold up and take on the plane with you as cabin baggage. Not the main reason I went for it, but one of them!

havanamama · 16/01/2023 17:04

When we bought our travel system, we were told that baby needs to lay flat until 6 months, so thinking of the Silvercross Dune folding carry cot that's around 250£
So hard to find travel friendly prams with cots

TeddyBeans · 16/01/2023 17:14

@havanamama how soon after birth are you thinking of travelling?

OP posts:
Katdemar · 16/01/2023 17:21

@havanamama

The yo-yo has a newborn package that is designed for up to 6 month and it still folds flat.

We're heading off on hols when baby will be 6 months, so good to know I'm covered.

You can pick them up (and the newborn bit) quite reasonably on eBay or Facebook groups second hand.

havanamama · 16/01/2023 17:36

Thank you!

@TeddyBeans around the 3 month mark and then at 4.5 months.

havanamama · 16/01/2023 17:37

On a different topic - does anyone else feel totally knackered after doing anything? 🫠 anything I do, I need to lay/sit down for 20min lol

Babynum2 · 16/01/2023 17:58

I got the babyzen yoyo for our stroller with the last we went on holiday abroad when he was 4 months. I kept it so will use it again.

Yes I feel Drained with everything I do and trying to stay up past 7pm is a myth these days.

havanamama · 16/01/2023 18:04

Scares me how will I have any energy for labour 🫣

Splashh · 16/01/2023 18:35

We got the Joolz Aer, it fits in the overhead cabin, fold really easy and has the carry cot which also folds. My big thing was that I need something lightweight and agile,m for travelling and small streets in London so this was perfect.

I also can’t do much in the evenings anymore, and feel soooo breathless. When I’m in meetings I have to talk slowly/ and gather my breath ffs!!

muminlndn · 16/01/2023 19:45

We have the baby jogger city tour 2 which also folds small enough to be cabin baggage. Though from experience when you check in/at the gate it's best to have it folded and in the travel bag to demonstrate how small is it - generally staff only seem to know about/trust the yo-yo! It also doesn't lie completely flat either so would need a car seat or bassinet for very little ones.

They do treat checked prams better than general luggage - you can take them to the gate and then they return them by hand at the baggage collection point (rather than sling them on the conveyor belt). But £1000 worth of pram may be pushing it 😅

havanamama · 16/01/2023 20:29

Thank you all ! :)

TeddyBeans · 16/01/2023 20:37

The September 2023 thread just popped up on my active threads, I physically cannot imagine being that early on in pregnancy again 🤣 I'm glad I'm almost at the end - it's been riddled with ups and downs (protein, no protein, potential GD, no GD, lots of glucose and trace protein in my urine, no glucose or protein, growth scans, etc) but sad that I won't ever be pregnant again. I'll miss the movements and the hiccups but I'm looking forward to being able to sleep comfortably however I want and downing a big glass of gin 🤣

Babynum2 · 16/01/2023 20:57

@TeddyBeans me to! Thinking back to the first trimester all the hospital admissions due to the HG ahhh couldn't ever do it again EVER!

I had a little nose on the Jan 2023 thread the other day to see some labour stories and scared myself.

ToffeeEl · 16/01/2023 20:59

Is there anyone that has experience with a transverse baby that didn't move by the end? Just wondering what the process is like (planned C-section date, do they try and move her, etc) any time I've asked my midwife she just says 'she'll move by the end', but I like to know what the different outcomes could be

@TeddyBeans I know what you mean, my friend is due in July and isn't even as far along now as when I found out I was expecting, just feels bonkers and a world ago. Often thinking about red wine, white wine, or a cocktail these days.

Choc2022 · 16/01/2023 22:28

I cant wait to lay on my front again. And turnover without pain. I'll miss this group, enjoyed the daily check ins.

@havanamama I'm looking at the pocketrocket though dont think it has lie flat option. Its tiny when folded.

Cuppasoupmonster · 16/01/2023 22:31

@ToffeeEl is your little one transverse? I think mine is - I feel movement in both hips at the same time. NHS says delivery is always by CS if transverse at the end.
