@Cuppasoupmonster I am 33+2 😁 my cot's been up since the 29th December. I'm a rather impatient person so the sooner it was up the better I felt. DP thinks I'm mad! I love JoJo clothes, they're adorable!

I am due on March 13th and I am expecting a beautiful baby girl. My baby shower is in 6 weeks' time and I can't wait to meet this little bundle of joy xx 💗

Cuppasoupmonster · 10/01/2023 20:05

Eek! I really like having the baby bits around me- one of the most exciting parts of pregnancy given the rest is toilet trips and insomnia lol. The sleeping bag is lovely! I love a bit of animal print 🐆

Deut28 · 10/01/2023 20:49

@allthingssparkly I found Spritz for Bits really helpful. I was put off buying it initially because it's pricey, but Amazon Primed some in desperation after tearing in labour. It's now on my must-haves. Also had gel cooling pads you could put in the fridge/freezer, a donut cushion, and arnica cream (although I didn't get on well with that).

JG24 · 10/01/2023 20:59

@TeddyBeans I got it prescribed by the doctors thank you

TeddyBeans · 10/01/2023 21:34

@JG24 glad you're sorted!

Is anyone's little one playing with them yet? If I poke/jiggle my belly when little lady is moving then she'll move more. It's really cute. I've just spent about 5 minutes poking different parts of my belly and having her shift around in response 🥰🥰

OP posts:
AK93 · 10/01/2023 22:31

@TeddyBeans I think I wind mine up by poking around until I get a response if I haven't felt him move enough in my opinion - he'll either move a bit or give a bit of a prod back. Also if I do it when I feel him moving he does seem to move in reaction but I hope I'm not annoying him too much!!

ToffeeEl · 10/01/2023 22:47

@TeddyBeans I've tried the pokes but never seem to get a reaction from it which is a shame, but whenever I've been strapped to be monitored it gets a couple of good whacks so the midwives have commented she's a little madam which is funny to me

havanamama · 10/01/2023 22:51

I have not been poking my belly as I just feel like what if that is distressing for baby rather than playing

TeddyBeans · 10/01/2023 23:26

It's just a way to bond with baby 😶

OP posts:
Rose429 · 10/01/2023 23:52

Yeah say that to my husband who keeps telling me to leave the baby alone haha 😂 I just ignore him and do whatever I want since she’s inside me!

Choc2022 · 10/01/2023 23:53

@havanamama @TeddyBeans with the tena pants do you wear knickers over it or just tena pants and normal clothes?

TeddyBeans · 11/01/2023 07:42

@Choc2022 just the tena pants I believe! Though I don't see the harm in doubling up if it makes you feel more comfortable

OP posts:
havanamama · 11/01/2023 09:53

Each to their own, I've not seen any NHS resources about it, so staying on the safe side.

With Tena pants, I understand they are like single use super heavy period pants, just a different material.

Long term stalker of these threads here!

Been itching to post a comment but never known what to post. Loved the inspiration for hospital bags recently; I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant (due March 18th with our first baby - a little girl)!

How early/late are people packing their bags? I’m thinking about trying to be fully prepped and packed in the next three-four weeks.

Perexi · 11/01/2023 10:40

Ubbee · 10/01/2023 18:50

This sounds very similar to what I would describe. How unhelpful of your MW!
I said the same to my MW and she said that sometimes ‘no pattern’ is the pattern (and in fact that she was the same with her 3 babies!). As long as you’re feeling movement frequently, if you sit for an hour you should feel something was her advice x

Thanks for this, really helpful!

I made an effort yesterday to concentrate on his movement at certain points which I think helped alot!

I know thankfully not my normal midwife but still not very helpful it was a strange appointment as she took the bloods from the vein in my hand rather than the arm!

We started NCT last night, that's one way to make you realise this is really happening 🤣

ChristmasJumpers · 11/01/2023 10:42

@Shep21 I've been trying to get all of my hospital bag bits bought and ready but haven't actually packed them yet. Hoping to be packed in the next week or two just to put my mind to rest

Welcome!

Ok 32 weeks and they are partially packed as I still need to get snacks, toiletry minis, and to put the baby outfits in labelled bags.

Once I've done mine and baby's, husband will unpack then and pack them back together so he knows what's where if I'm away in theatre or asleep and he needs something for baby.

Hi All,
Just come across this group. Im due my first little boy on 17th March. Am gettign excited/nervous.
Would love to setup a group to meetup weekly when the babies are born for an in person network too.

Cuppasoupmonster · 11/01/2023 11:34

How did you find NCT @Perexi ? I did an antenatal course for DD but don’t feel I can justify the cost as a second time mum! I’m still in contact with the girls from mine 4 years on which is lovely.

Hi broom! I’m a newbie here as well, also expecting a little boy on the 17th 💙 I also have DD who is 3. Are you a first time mum?

TeddyBeans · 11/01/2023 11:44

@Cuppasoupmonster did you want me to put your due date down as the 17th or your April date on the due date list?

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 11/01/2023 11:44

Morning all

Had my 28 week midwife appointment today (although i'm actually 29+2). First time i've had fundal height measured and it was way above the 97th percentile on the graph at 32 centimetres! Midwife didn't say anything about it at all and didn't even tell me, just marked it on a graph and gave me back my notes. Is it something i should be concerned about? Baby was actually measuring small on the 31st percentile at the last scan so i'm surprised it was so high.
