Hi all,
obvs still very early days. I’m currently 4+4 and just trying to enjoy it really. Just wondering if anyone wanted to join me to share early symptoms, how you’re managing to hide symptoms, how you’ll reveal your pregnancy to loved ones etc. and all the other bits and bobs on this journey 🄰

@Thefrogwife @Shinea @Cat1424 congratulations! Hope all goes well for you all.

I'm waking up through the night too which is unusual, but it could just be because of the nerves/excitement. Who knows!

Mountainview8 · 27/12/2022 07:35

@Cat1424 I'm 4+3 so not as far along as you. Hopefully we'll all start to sleep better soon!

DandelionPockets · 27/12/2022 07:37

@Owlgirl14 with you on that, happened quickly for us two and it is a bit daunting. DP has been through a whole range of emotions bless him. I think I'll get an early scan too, 12 weeks seems so far away and would love to know sooner if there's a heartbeat and everything seems ok. 5+1 today.

Soopyjoopy · 27/12/2022 08:36

With my ds last year I swear I didn't sleep more than 2 consecutive hours for about 13 months!! From the minute i found out i was pregnant i got horrific insomnia, fall asleep midnight ish awake within cple hrs til 4 or 5 then another hr. I figured it was anxiety and nerves

Owlgirl14 · 27/12/2022 08:49

I'm not sleeping great either, keep waking early hours of the morning too and then not getting to sleep for another 1-2 hours which really isn't like me either. I know when I'm waking up it's the first thing I'm thinking about so probably got an overactive mind!

Soopyjoopy · 27/12/2022 08:50

Anyone else really anxious? After being told for so many years I couldnt have children, my son was so unexpected, an "accident" and altho i had the CP in Oct I cant believe I'd be lucky enough to have another. I dont feel very pregnant so every little twinge makes me panic somethings happened

@DandelionPockets Yes same here, 5 weeks today now. Feels like a little milestone. May see if I can get a private scan at 8 weeks, although will see what the doctor says as I'm on beta blockers which can affect the baby's growth so may get offered extra scans anyway. Unfortunately coming off them isn't an option as I tried that last year and all my symptoms flared up and was quite poorly for 6+ months.

Owlgirl14 · 27/12/2022 08:59

@Soopyjoopy Yes it's an anxious time, my husband has started worrying right from the off but I'm trying not to and to trust my body that it will do its job and a high percentage of pregnancies do turn out ok. My husband asked if I feel pregnant yesterday and said not really apart from crying at a movie that morning which isn't like me. I'm sure it will seem more real when I see the doctor/booking in appointment and seeing it on the ultrasound.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. Im
4+4ish I think but the nausea and tiredness are here in full force. The nausea is awful. Didn’t expect it so early.

LuckyStar511 · 27/12/2022 15:15

@Shinea 5+2 today and I’ve been having that too but on my right side. Assuming it’s just everything growing and ready to accommodate baby.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Is anyone going for an early scan? How many weeks will you be if you are? I feel like I want to do one but DH doesn’t. I’d just love some reassurance that everything’s okay tbh.

Cat1424 · 27/12/2022 15:19

@LuckyStar511 I’m going for an 8 week scan on Monday (I’ll be 8 +2 by then). I haven’t heard from my midwifery unit since I self referred over 2 weeks ago so and the wait of knowing things are ok is killing me so no way I could have waited another month if not longer! It’s only costing us Ā£80 which is worth it knowing whether things are ok or not. We want to get excited but darent yet just in case!

LuckyStar511 · 27/12/2022 15:30

@Cat1424 8 weeks sounds like a good time! I hope it all goes well for you!
I’m going to have to convince DH I think šŸ™ˆ I’ve only taken the one pregnancy test too so I’m wondering whether it’s worth taking another one. Maybe a digital one??

CMG92 · 27/12/2022 15:36

Hi everyone hope I’m ok to join. I’m 30 and found out last weekend we are expecting our 1st baby, I’m 5+2. I feel bloated especially after I have eaten and have odd days of brown discharge and some twinges but nothing else atm, is this normal at this stage? Congratulations to everyone else

Cat1424 · 27/12/2022 15:43

@LuckyStar511 Thank you! If you think it will help you feel better what’s to lose? I took two of the the digital ones with the weeks indicator (although didn’t take note of that as heard they aren’t very reliable). If you’re unsure maybe just do another and if it’s positive then convince your DH to do the scan, it can only be beneficial as the way I see it, even if it’s not good news at least you know rather than being excited for almost 3 months! I am absolutely terrified for Monday though that’s the only downside!

LuckyStar511 · 27/12/2022 16:01

@Cat1424 ahhh you’re so right! I’ll do another test and then see what happens.
Oh bless you! You’ll have to try to distract yourself in the meantime to take your mind off of it. Easier said than done of course!

@CMG92 welcome! ā˜ŗļø I’m 5+2 too.
Ive been having nausea, tiredness and twinges too. It sounds super normal but remember every pregnancy is different so don’t worry if you’ve got different symptoms to others ā˜ŗļø With my DD, at this stage my boobs were so sore but I don’t have that this time.

CMG92 · 27/12/2022 16:14

I feel ok in the morning but I must admit bu this time of day I feel a bit off it! I now totally understand why people are panicking the whole way through pregnancy wondering if everything is ok or normal! Got my booking appt on 16th jan. Hopefully your boobs don’t get too sore this time! šŸ˜…

CMG92 · 27/12/2022 16:16

Me too! 4am most days 😓😓 then fast asleep when my alarm goes off šŸ˜‚

ClaBro1 · 27/12/2022 16:49

Has anyone taken a clear blue dating test? I’m confused as it is 3+ which puts me ahead of what I thought! My last period was late but I did still bleed and now concerned that may not have been an actual period! Argh!

allgoodthings84 · 27/12/2022 17:12

@ClaBro1 when did you ovulate?

allgoodthings84 · 27/12/2022 17:14

@ClaBro1 I got a 3+ yesterday which was correct as I ovulated 3 weeks and 2 days ago (so 3 weeks and 1 day when I took the test)

ClaBro1 · 27/12/2022 17:31

@allgoodthings84 so, annoyingly I know I can only be 4 and a half-ish as hubby works away so would have conceived shortly 9/10 December or it is from November 😱

allgoodthings84 · 27/12/2022 18:18

@ClaBro1 conception isn’t when you have sex it’s when the sperm fertilises the egg which is 12-24 hours after ovulation. If you had sex 9/10th December and nothing in December before that then maybe it’s twins!

the dating part on these tests aren’t completely accurate though and if you ovulated say 9th December you’re only 3 days away from it being 3+

if you’re worried it could be from November best to contact your local midwife services and explain. Chances are you’ve just got more hcg (everyone is different) so the dating bit isn’t totally accurate

ClaBro1 · 27/12/2022 18:52

@allgoodthings84 thank you. I don’t think it can be for November. I’m going to phone and see if they’ll take blood hcg levels tomorrow and see. I had a bad missed miscarriage experience in Sept so hoping to keep anxiety low but that test has given me the slight fear. As you say, these tests can be wrong though. Thanks for your help. Hope you’re keeping well x

Soopyjoopy · 27/12/2022 23:16
