Hi all,
obvs still very early days. I’m currently 4+4 and just trying to enjoy it really. Just wondering if anyone wanted to join me to share early symptoms, how you’re managing to hide symptoms, how you’ll reveal your pregnancy to loved ones etc. and all the other bits and bobs on this journey 🄰

@Babybear12 I too had cramps fairly sporadically throughout (11 weeks today) and like yourself panicked thinking it was AF coming. I think generally they're fine if they're mild and not accompanied by bleeding. When I log my symptoms on the Flo app it tells me it's the most commonly logged symptom so don't worry! :)

Manorbier · 30/01/2023 23:55

Due 29th August with my second baby - my eldest is 5! Symptoms so far are burning indigestion, constant burping and sickness - very similar to my first pregnancy

Owlgirl14 · 31/01/2023 11:11

@Manorbier That's currently my due date based on LMP but of course it may change after the 12 week scan. First time for me 😊

Manorbier · 31/01/2023 11:59

@Owlgirl14 - Aw congratulations! - the date might change after your 12 month scan. You must be so excited! Its my second - my daughter is now 5! But it's my partner's first baby so we're both thrilled! My symptoms are very similar to my first pregnancy - lots of indigestion, wind and bloating !

allgoodthings84 · 31/01/2023 12:40

@Manorbier I’m the same I have a daughter with my ex husband but this is my partners first. My daughter is 7 and will be 8 when the baby is here

Owlgirl14 · 31/01/2023 13:10

@Manorbier Thank you and congratulations to you too. I was shocked at first but am getting more excited as time goes on. My husband has been excited since I told him and so supportive which has really helped.

I've had a lot of the usual symptoms, headaches, nausea, indigestion, bloating, gas, thirst, emotional. Am at the 10 weeks mark so hoping it'll start to ease off a bit.

Can't wait for the 12 week scan, I've been holding out for it!

Manorbier · 31/01/2023 13:48

Thank you @Owlgirl14 - that's great** your husband's been supportive - it's great when partners/husbands step up.
I found some of the symptoms definitely eased off first time round but not all - gas and indigestion definitely didn't but I also loved having a huge.bump so its swings and roundabouts!
I know - 12 week scan is so exciting!!

laurapalmer22 · 01/02/2023 07:24

Morning all! Been quiet on my end as I've been busy with work but finally that's sorting itself out.

Symptoms have stabilised/reduced quite a bit the past few weeks which has been nice and made me feel like my normal self again. I have had some irrational worry that I might've eaten "the wrong thing" and harmed my baby but I don't have any real reason to think there's anything wrong. Just a case of "oh dear maybe I shouldn't have had that chicken salad from the deli" or "maybe the feta I tried from my partner's menemen wasn't fully cooked or pasteurised." 10 weeks today and my twinges are suddenly back after a two week absence. Maybe it's the baby growth spurt.

How is everyone doing? Love reading everyone's posts!

Manorbier · 01/02/2023 07:28

@laurapalmer22 - hi glad your symptoms have eased - I'm sure you haven't harmed your baby! My mIn symptoms are burping a lot after eating also burning indigestion !

laurapalmer22 · 01/02/2023 07:33

@Manorbier Oh, the pregnancy farts have been incessant on my side, haha. And periodically very very bloated.

Manorbier · 01/02/2023 07:37

@laurapalmer22 I sympathise- the bloated feeling's the worst !

Londongirl87 · 01/02/2023 10:15

My symptoms seem to have eased a bit too apart from the sore and swollen boobs.

My new worry is that I have a sort of flu (I am seeing my GP today to get a check up) and I've had fever and chills / muscle pain since yesterday morning.

My midwife said I could take paracetamol which I have done but I am a bit worried that I might be harming the baby with the fever and flu :(

Owlgirl14 · 01/02/2023 11:45

@Londongirl87 Sorry to hear you're feeling poorly, I hope you feel better soon and you get some reassurance from the doctor.

Have you had your flu jab yet? I've had it recommended but not booked in yet. Same with the covid jab, although I'm not sure if I'll have that.

I've got to go pick up some antibiotics later as my midwife rang to say I have a water infection/UTI (I think they're the same thing) Maybe that's why my stomach has been bad so far although I don't really have any of the classic UTI symptoms. But it appears to be quite common in pregnancy.

My symptoms seem to come in waves, felt a bit better a few days but yesterday evening I had the headache, nausea and feeling a bit rubbish!

Londongirl87 · 01/02/2023 12:26

@Owlgirl14 I hope you feel better soon too!

I was supposed to go and get my flu jab today but looks like the flu was faster than me this time

DandelionPockets · 02/02/2023 14:54

How's everyone getting on, have to admit I haven't been on here the past couple of weeks but have caught up on the thread.

Holding on for my 12week scan, no date yet but very excited to see the little thing in there. Met my midwife and booked in and feel a lot more confident now that I've got this and will be fine.

Symptoms wise, I feel like I have the most unreal tiredness. I'm so looking forward to that to go, I feel hungover. I have no energy to even wash up the breakfast dishes šŸ˜‚. How's everyone else doing?

Moni81 · 02/02/2023 15:12

@DandelionPockets I can totally relate, tiredness is real struggle, although better than at the beginning I still feel more tired, kind of slow and lazy.

Owlgirl14 · 02/02/2023 15:52

@DandelionPockets It's nice to hear from you, I too am holding out for my 12 week scan which is in 2 weeks time.

I'm also feeling quite tired and have been napping late afternoon the last 3 days. It just seems to hit me all of a sudden!

@Moni81 yes I'm feeling like that too, finding it hard to get up off the sofa or motivate myself to do anything. Apparently your energy comes back after the first trimester, so here's hoping that's true 😊

DandelionPockets · 02/02/2023 16:35

Yes i've read that you too about the boost of energy in trimester 2 so hope that's the case for all of us! Just trying to not feel the pressure to do more if my body is telling me to lie down some more.

Owlgirl14 · 02/02/2023 18:43

Has anyone had their flu jab or covid jqb or planning to have either?

Nypie · 02/02/2023 21:41

@Owlgirl14 had both of mine a few days ago I was going to wait to speak to my midwife but I work partly in the community and so many people were getting covid or flu I was just constantly anxious! Sore arms but feeling better now.

cinnamonbiscuit · 02/02/2023 22:15

@Owlgirl14 I’ve also had both, several of my friends have had flu recently and really don’t think I could cope with it on top of the sickness!

Moni81 · 02/02/2023 23:54

I had my COVID vaccines when they were due. Don bother with flu vaccine as it's nearly the end of season and I had bad flu just before I found out I was pregnant anyway.

allgoodthings84 · 03/02/2023 07:24

I’ve not had either yet but need to get them booked in

DandelionPockets · 03/02/2023 09:00

I had my flu jab yesterday. Midwife told me to get it booked in after I spoke with her.

Soopyjoopy · 03/02/2023 09:22

With new EDD from scan on Wed I'm apparently 27% of the way through already!! Very surreal. For anyone not on fb here's my bouncy bundle
