just checking into the latest post, I do try and follow!!
such wonderful words @TheWeeLittleDonkey x

BCxx · 18/12/2022 19:35

@Lurker22 aww that’s such a shame they moved the date and have most likely caused you all this stress you wouldn’t have experienced if you’d been able to go when you booked 🤦🏼‍♀️ Someone was on here the other day saying they went back a week later and it had tripled in size and had a heartbeat so try not to take it as a negative! I know you’ll be worrying, as we all do about everything

BCxx · 18/12/2022 19:36

@DesertSnow sorry you’re not feeling great, hopefully you’re almost at the peak of it now! So many people are ill just now, they’ll maybe just think you have one of these illnesses everyone has 🙈

BCxx · 18/12/2022 19:40

Was really dying with what I thought was the flu yesterday. Noticed my toddler was really hot this morning so did a covid test and of course we’re both positive 😑 Not ideal but I’d probably rather have it now before I’m also being sick! I now can’t smell or taste really and haven’t had any nausea since 😂 also glad it’s not happened right before my scan at the end of next week.

Last night’s night out ended up rescheduled as so many people were unwell so I only have Friday’s to get through and I’m now thinking do I just hang off with my covid diagnosis and announce it on Friday? 😂 it means I get no nights out but I feel it’s a price I’m willing to pay for no one getting any slight indication of me possibly being pregnant

LMM91x · 18/12/2022 19:45

@BCxx oh 100% you hold off on that announcement and use it to your advantage. I’m furious I bad covid the week before I found out so could hardly use it as an excuse to avoid a social event!

BCxx · 18/12/2022 19:51

@LMM91x haha I have the picture of our tests and everything so feel like it’s such an easy excuse and I’m barely even lying 🙈 I’m pretty sure I’ve had it since Friday night so could technically go but no ones going to arrange a night out for January so if I can swerve this one I’ve basically made it to the finish line 😂

LMM91x · 18/12/2022 20:01

@BCxx omg totally. I have work team
drinks tomorrow afternoon - that is my final hurdle then i am off work til Jan and already preaching about dry jan any chance I get🤣🤣

Alexandra07 · 18/12/2022 20:10

@TheWeeLittleDonkey thank you for sharing This information, it's very reassuring!

Fairylight102 · 18/12/2022 20:23

Hi everyone, posting for the first time having lurked on mumsnet for a while.

I’m 32 and found out a week ago that I’m pregnant for the first time. I have PCOS so I was worried I would struggle to conceive, but was really lucky and if happened on my 2nd cycle of trying.

Reaching out for support because I’ve had some bleeding this afternoon (a small amount of blood came out when I went to the toilet a few hours ago, and since then it’s just been a little smear on the tissue when wiping). I phoned my maternity hospital and they said it could just be implantation bleeding. They said to go to A&E if it became significantly worse, and if not go to the early pregnancy unit in the morning.

I’m trying to read things on the NHS website etc reassure myself that bleeding in the first trimester does happen sometimes and isn’t necessarily a sign of anything really bad. Husband has been very supportive and will come with me to the EPU in the morning.

Praying that it will all be ok and sending best wishes to all the other Mums-to-be on here xxx

BCxx · 18/12/2022 20:27

@LMM91x haha 😂 I think the key is in really emphasising how much you’ve overdone it or mentioning drinks you had when out. I’m getting that into every conversation just now, went for lunch the other day and a friend texted asking how it was. ‘Aw great, just had lunch and a few cocktails 😊’ .. you just do not need the thought creeping into their head of ‘could she be?’ because if you’ve done the ground work it will seem impossible 🤣 I’ve still got new year to get through but we’re going for dinner with a few couples who all have kids then we’re having them to ours for ‘drinks’ so driving when you have a car seat is an easy excuse then I will appear to be drinking when they come to ours so no one will suspect a thing.. and if they ask for some of my wine or gin, they can be my guest, hope everyone isn’t too ‘drunk’ haha 😉

LMM91x · 18/12/2022 20:30

@BCxx you have got this on LOCK! Absolutely laying it on thick is the way 🤣 I got some fake prosecco last night and sent s ‘cheers’ to my gal pals watching strictly. Its alllll in the perception 🤣🤣

BCxx · 18/12/2022 20:31

@Fairylight102 try not to panic 🤞🏼 I had quite a lot of implantation bleeding, it was like day 1 of a period then completely stopped. I had it two days after my first very faint BFP. My friend has had bleeding in her first trimester with both pregnancies and they’ve been fine. You also get a (can’t remember the name for it) little pocket of blood that is absorbed away into your body which can bleed in there and is harmless but would show up on a scan. Basically there are a lot of reasons for it so don’t just assume the worst one! Fingers crossed for you. Are you far enough on that that they’d be able to reassure you with a scan do you think?

BCxx · 18/12/2022 20:36

@LMM91x it makes me laugh so much 🤣🥂

buttercupbee · 18/12/2022 20:38

Thanks so much for the congratulations ladies 🥰 we have been to tell my mum and in laws this afternoon and they’re all thrilled. Just hope nothing goes wrong at this point but at least we’ll have their support if it does.

@TheBirdintheCave so sorry if my post added to your worries. Despite the reassurance from the scan I know it’s early days and something could still go wrong. I’m just trying to stay positive and remember the odds are in our favour 🤞🏼

@LBF2020 so like the others have said I was tracking ovulation using easy@home sticks, I ovulated late this month at CD23 which meant I was about 9 days later than average. So even though by LMP I should be 7+5 I was expecting this to be a week or so out.

@Alpacabag22 @Rowanandremy hey due date twins 👋🏼😊

@DesertSnow hope everything goes well at your scan tomorrow!

@Fairylight102 welcome and congrats! I haven’t had any bleeding but I know a few ladies on here have had some and it’s turned out ok, so hopefully others can give you some reassurance. It’s such a worrying time isn’t it, I thought when I found out I’d be thrilled but wasn’t expecting how anxious I’d be!

LMM91x · 18/12/2022 20:38

@BCxx we feel so clever don’t we 🤣🤣🤣 muhahahaha they’ll never know

Fairylight102 · 18/12/2022 20:39

@BCxx That’s really reassuring thank you! I’m around 5-6 weeks, not sure what stage you need to be at for an early scan but if possible I would definitely like to have one.

Fairylight102 · 18/12/2022 20:42

Thanks @buttercupbee It is a very anxious time as well as exciting

BCxx · 18/12/2022 20:42

@Fairylight102 I think there would probably be something to see then but just try not to go in thinking there will be a heartbeat as it’s most likely too early, theres a chance you might if you’re 6 weeks but just try not to be too disappointed if there’s not yet 🤞🏼 Fingers crossed you’ll get some reassurance from them tomorrow

ohfook · 18/12/2022 20:43

Hey
Not sure if I can join yet. I'm about 6 days late, sore boobs, very flatulent 😳 and a horrible taste in my mouth. Haven't got a positive yet but I was exactly the same with my second no idea why but it just felt like it took ages for to get a positive test. So fingers crossed I'll be officially joining in the next few days!

BCxx · 18/12/2022 20:48

Also complete change of subject from everyone’s scans and I’m getting way ahead of myself but is anyone planning to go on holiday pregnant? I so love a sunshine holiday and we didn’t take our little one til he was nearer a year which I think was perfect as we didn’t have much faff with bottles and he was eating normal meals from the buffet. Before that it was covid so that was our first holiday in 3 years.

I think we’d go early summer 2024 the same as we did with him in 2022 (august baby too) but summer 2024 feels like a lifetime away just now 😭 I’m looking at maybe booking something cheap for February just to get some sun before I’m too scared to go away further on. I know something can happen any time and I’m not sure how much I’d actually enjoy a holiday knowing I can’t go to my local hospital if I need to but is anyone else doing it?

LMM91x · 18/12/2022 20:53

@BCxx was having this convo earlier and 100% need a holiday !!! I was looking at May mid/end…. So hopefully not too uncomfortable!! Was looking at greece but never been in May so not sure if weather good???

AnnieApple123 · 18/12/2022 20:55

@TheWeeLittleDonkey Thank you. That helps to confirm my decision not to have an early scan unless I develop any new concerning symptoms between now and 12 weeks. It really does seem like they often cause more worry than reassurance.

ChloeN · 18/12/2022 20:55

@LMM91x i went to Greece end of may/start of June a couple of years ago and the weather was lovely! Really warm in the day but slightly chilly in the evening, I think it poss rained for about an hour one day but that was all xx

UsernameNotPresent · 18/12/2022 21:02

@BCxx we are going to Greece in March. Hopefully the second trimester glow will come by then 🤣 It should be fine.

LMM91x · 18/12/2022 21:04

@ChloeN oooo sounds perfect- won’t be out late on the town will I 😭!
