@LMM91x oh no way, that sounds like hell! 🙈

@blondebanana it’s so hard to just pretend you’re fine 😂 We were at my parents at Christmas and they know so it was fine when I just decided we were going home after nearly falling asleep on the sofa for hours! Was just so glad it was their house and not my in-laws where I’d pretend to be polite. The cold sounds like a good excuse, I feel fine after covid but I’m going to have to really exaggerate it today!

@ChloeN will be glad when we’re in the car home 😂 have already been negotiating what time we can go (as late as possible) and my husband is saying that’s not fair because he was at my parents on Christmas Day for a while. I’m like yeah but you were drinking and you’re not secretly growing a human!

LBF2020 · 27/12/2022 11:02

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. @BCxx and @LMM91x good luck for today.

Is anyone else having weird wees? I have always needed the toilet frequently but I am currently struggling with retention. I wake up in the night bursting, but then I find it hard to start flow and then it feels like very little comes out and it's a very slow flow. My booking appointment is next week so I'll mention it then.

I also think I have started with round ligament pain. It seems a bit early for this. Is anyone else having it?

BCxx · 27/12/2022 11:02

People have probably already watched it but I’ve got right into the traitors on bbc iplayer. It’s almost like being pregnant in a way because you feel like you’re lying to everyone and trying not to get caught out 😂

BCxx · 27/12/2022 11:04

@LBF2020 thanks! Yes I have the same problem but thought it was because it’s my second baby. I remember with my son towards the end it was like his head was pushing on my bladder so I’d go for a wee but it would only empty some of my bladder then I’d move or go to stand up and need to go again. I thought it was my body just jumping straight back into that 🙈 but definitely noticed this morning I was on the toilet for so long waiting to fully empty it 😂

LMM91x · 27/12/2022 11:07

@ChloeN honestly I just can’t…… the thought is actually giving me heartburn 🤣🤣 luckily I supported his decision to play golf first… 5 less hours we have to be there hahaahah.

@BCxx the traitors was AMAZING! Absolutely loved it!!!

re weeing - I am up 3/4 times a night and it’s driving me MAD! Need to be like a toddler and not drink 3/4 hours before I go to bed🤣

ChloeN · 27/12/2022 11:52

@BCxx it used to be like that with my partner, we’d end up sitting round there for hours on end, thankfully this year they’ve gone away now so I only saw them for about 2 hours🤣

@LBF2020 i keep thinking I’ve got a uti but I’ve had it tested and there’s nothing there, it’s like you describe but only on some wees!

@LMM91x oh what a result, I’ll be thinking of you and hoping it speeds past 🤣

LS888 · 27/12/2022 12:01

I’m just so exhausted! Had a few days away in a holiday cottage with my parents and sisters family. Still so full of cold, coughing like an old man and then start heaving. Luckily haven’t been sick again since my early Christmas/raw Turkey incident. Also everyone who we were away with knows. So luckily didn’t have to hide anything. The nausea and cold symptoms are blurring into one and not sure what is making me feel worse! On the way home now thankfully.

Sjw30 · 27/12/2022 12:41

I’m definitely feeling the exhaustion but not sure if that’s all the after effects of this awful cold I had. Other than that I only really have sore boobs which come and go. I’ve already had an early scan so I feel quite reassured in one sense, but I definitely felt more pregnant in the first few days of finding out than I do now! I guess there normal though?

Nic2908 · 27/12/2022 13:09

We’ve just booked an early scan for Thursday afternoon. Just need that 15min reassurance that little bean is ok in there…… then I’m going to tell my manager. Bloody hell i am shitting my pants about this. Anyone else worried about telling work??

BCxx · 27/12/2022 13:14

@LMM91x im only a few episodes in but it’s so good and so easy to keep watching!

Owlgirl14 · 27/12/2022 13:17

How many weeks are you getting your early scans and who with please?

I'm 5 weeks today and not having many symptoms yet, I cried at a movie yesterday which I wouldn't normally.

It's going to be a shock telling most people and especially work. No one will be expecting it at all as I've never really wanted kids, but having more involvement with family and age has got me thinking about it more and was going to enjoy next years holidays and that first but then bam! It's been a shock to us but we're very happy about it!

BoodifulGoose · 27/12/2022 13:18

@Alexandra07 so sorry to read your news. I hope you're doing as okay as you can be 💙

I'm 5weeks getting my scan 7 th January, I'm having most trouble with the almost constant need to pee , not been sick yet but starting to feel sick if hungry and tired .

BCxx · 27/12/2022 13:19

@Nic2908 my scan is Saturday, I have a lunch with my friends just before it and I’m going to have to act normal, like my heart isn’t in my mouth about to go to it 🙈 I haven’t told work yet, told them at 9 weeks last time and asked my boss not to tell anyone but she told 3 other people and we hadn’t even told family. This time I think I’m going to leave it until 12 weeks

BoodifulGoose · 27/12/2022 13:20

@Nic2908 I had hoped not to tell my work for a while as I know it will ruin my chances at an upcoming promotion, however, I was so ill the 2 weeks before Christmas that I felt I should say instead of continually fobbing them off with lies as that felt worse (and I needed time off)

The day I told them, I did a covid test 2 hours later and it was f**king positive, I could have just used that 😂😂 gutted, but is done now! Just the managers, will tell my colleagues after 12 weeks I think!

BCxx · 27/12/2022 13:21

@Owlgirl14 i’ll be 6 weeks 5 days on Saturday at my early scan. I think it was the exact same time when I got my early scan last time. I got it with abc4d last time but going to a small private clinic this time, it’s just a lady who is a midwife who runs it herself. I couldn’t get an appointment anywhere else until 4th January and I was too impatient! We used window to the womb for a later scan last time and they were good too

ChloeN · 27/12/2022 13:22

@Owlgirl14 im going at 10 weeks this time, I’ve just picked a random medical ultrasound place this time, they’ve got really good reviews and were really helpful when I messaged! Lots of ladies on this thread have gone much earlier though xx

blondebanana · 27/12/2022 13:25

@Owlgirl14 we're getting an early scan at 7 weeks. It'll just be my husband and I.

I'm quite nervous about telling work - it'll be very unexpected as I've never been too keen on children either. Not sure when to tell them as I'm quite close with my team & my boss and we'd usually go out for bottles of wine every week together.

sally16 · 27/12/2022 13:27

@BoodifulGoose I did a covid test after too and was positive and was fuming I didn't just use that reason I was poorly 😂

@Nic2908 I've had to tell a few of my boss' at work this past week, I've been off sick with a flu bug and they know I usually just stock up on Sudafed and drag myself about so when I called on Xmas day for Boxing Day I could hear the tone she used not believing me.. probably thought I was drunk lol
So I told her and she was like 'omg!!!!! Go back ti bed!!' 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

sally16 · 27/12/2022 13:28

@Owlgirl14 we had one at 6 weeks but didn't see much, just fuzz and a heart beat but was nice!
Tempted to go for one in 2 weeks so I'll be 9 weeks!

Sjw30 · 27/12/2022 13:33

We had one at what I thought was 6+6 but measured 6+2. A lovely little blob and we saw the heartbeat we picked a private one with good reviews.

UsernameNotPresent · 27/12/2022 13:46

@Nic2908 I will be telling work when I come back from annual leave in early Jan. I am absolutely dreading it, it will be a stressful shit show as my mat leave will potentially affect my future contract (long story, I know pregnancy is a protected characteristic and all that, but unfortunately there is a legal way for me to be screwed over if things don't go to plan).
DH is being a grump which really grates on my nerves. I just want to be looked after for few days.

Havanalily1806 · 27/12/2022 13:57

Sorry to read your news @Alexandra07 hope you are doing okay 🤍

AnnieApple123 · 27/12/2022 13:59

What supplements were you thinking of @blondebanana ? I confess I’m a bit of a supplement junkie. You can usually safely rely on the directions on the container to tell you if they’re not definitely recommended in pregnancy. Annoyingly a lot of them say to consult with a healthcare practitioner.

Havanalily1806 · 27/12/2022 14:03

Just joining in with all the early scan talk, I think we are going to go for one at just over 8 weeks so another 2.5 weeks to wait... I feel bad I'm wishing this time away so quickly, I'll be regretting that when I'm back at work next week.

I'm not planning on telling work until 12 weeks if I can help it, like others they won't expect it as I have never been the most maternal person 😅 but I work with a lovely team and for a great manager and I know they'll all be thrilled. I also have the perfect person in my team who I know is ready to step up and cover me while I'm off and it will be a great opportunity for them so I'm sure the news should go down well all around 🤞🏽

Is anyone else suffering as bad as me with their skin? 😩 I can't decide if it is all hormonal, or if it's that half my skin care I can now no longer use but I'm so so so spotty. I'm 5+5 today, no other symptoms yet really apart from sore boobs and tiredness that's on and off (very much on today 😅😴)
