Aww thanks. My second boy is just as cheeky as the first but both so lovely. Everyone thinks they are twins. Bonus I've reused every bit of clothing!

DuploMum · 21/12/2022 20:50

@Amme18 clearly meant to tag you above haha x

heand2022 · 21/12/2022 21:19

Had my booking apt today girls and wow it's starting to feel a bit real! I have an early scan tomorrow and I'm starting to actually look forward to it now, been so so nervous but I've had nothing to indicate things aren't right so just feeling really positive 🙂 hope everyone else who has a scan tomorrow is feeling good and everything goes well!

Nic2908 · 21/12/2022 21:46

Good god, I’ve just come back on after three days away 298 new messages!! Not going to lie I’ve just skipped to the end I can’t read all of those!! Hope everyone is all ok.

@TheBirdintheCave how are you have you had another scan or anything?

Rowanandremy · 21/12/2022 23:27

@heand2022 I hope everything goes well with your scan tomorrow!

Ive got my scan in the morning, we’re a bit nervous even though there hasn’t been any particular concerns. We’re very excited, we’re getting our scan done at the fertility clinic and they wouldn’t scan before 7 weeks - it feels like the time has gone so slow 😂

Mulner88 · 21/12/2022 23:37

I was also so confused about NIPT testing etc. but when I was at my booking app, the midwife asked me if I wanted to get the NIPT screening done at my 12 week scan and I just said yes and signed the consent form, so I guess maybe some trusts do them as standard if you want? I dunno, it's all very new to me and just cruising along 😂

UsernameNotPresent · 22/12/2022 01:40

I am already missing my rare steak with wine, stinky cheese, sushi, smoked cold meats.. 🤤 and it's only the beginning 😂
Gherkins straight out of a can are a firm favourite right now though. Anyone else has funky food preferences/cravings?

Last pregnancy I could eat smoked cooked sausages by a kilo.

UsernameNotPresent · 22/12/2022 01:43

Re NIPT, I will have extended one privately at 11 weeks. Firstly because there is a vague genetic condition that runs in the family (thankfully not very closely related, but enough to make me paranoid) and secondly I am obsessive like that and want every possible safe test going.

Recoba · 22/12/2022 06:43

Just woken up from a dream about having a miscarriage (at the end of a stressful dream where I was being questioned by a room full of lawyers!). Bleh. Really not a fan of these vivid dreams. Hope everyone else is managing to sleep better! Also is anyone else just really hot all the time?

Re. NIPT, with my first my husband and I (both mathematicians) worked out the probabilities and then had a threshold for getting it based on results from the NT (nuchal translucency measurement on the 12 week scan) and blood test results (our threshold was lower than the one where the NHS automatically gives you further testing). In the event this wasn't necessary, but I think we'll probably do the same thing again, although might push for private test if the scan is scheduled late (i.e. towards 14w rather than 12w). One of my colleagues had to have a late abortion due to screening results and she was over 20 weeks by the time everything was decided, which didn't seem like a great outcome.

Loving everyone's reveal plans! Haven't thought about how we're going to tell in-laws over Christmas (staying with them from Christmas Eve, so it'll be obvious given how sick I feel - my nausea shows up at 5pm on the dot every day) - maybe charades involving our 2.5yo!

blondebanana · 22/12/2022 06:48

@UsernameNotPresent I'm missing rare steak, smelly cheese and wine sooo much too. I absolutely love a whiskey and green ginger wine around this time of year also :(

ChloeN · 22/12/2022 07:57

@Rowanandremy good luck for your scan this morning ☺️

@Recoba some of my dreams so literally so weird I question if I’m actually ok🤣

Rose05 · 22/12/2022 08:00

Is anybody taking pregnacare max? I took pregnacare during my first pregnancy, I don’t think it was max (3 tablets in total!) I’ve had a constant upset stomach, lots of acid and generally feeling bleurgh! Wondering if the max is too much. Also taking 75mg of aspirin as I took that with my daughter (suffered previous early miscarriages.)

Londongirl87 · 22/12/2022 08:35

Hello everyone,

I had a blood test yesterday at my fertility clinic and they confirmed the pregnancy.

HCG was 115 (which is apparently ok for 12-14 DPO - i am still not sure about my ovulation date since I did not track it this month, ironically)
Progesterone was 70 which was good too.
I need to repeat the test tomorrow to make sure that the HCG has doubled. Fingers crossed!

I managed to get an appointment with my GP… in 2 weeks, so I guess it is ok if I self-register with the maternity / hospital prior to that?

Rowanandremy · 22/12/2022 09:30

@ChloeN thank you! I’ll let everyone know how it goes x

rhib27 · 22/12/2022 09:49

Hi all, either 6 + 1 or 7 + 1, getting conflicting info due to irregular cycles so not sure. Feeling pretty crampy last few days, if I didn't know I was pregnant I would have thought I was coming on. Had real back lower back ache last night too. I'm hoping all of this is normal?

Haven't told partner yet, saving that for christmas day which I am hoping will be a lovely present for him :)

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 22/12/2022 09:51

Good luck to those with scans today 😊

Desperatelyboredhousewife · 22/12/2022 09:53

Good luck to everyone today! My turn tomorrow and feeling very nervous! Scan at 4:30 and my dad and his partner turning up to stay for Christmas about 6...fingers crossed we will have good news to share with them!

Buttons86 · 22/12/2022 10:26

Hi everyone…Ive been lurking on here for a wile…congrats to everyone on their August babies.

We have been having fertility treatment (not ivf) and my cycles have been all over the place. I had a scan today and measured at 5+5 (due date 20th August) which is what I thought would be but there was no heartbeat. They also saw a cyst on my ovary which is a new development …I have been having many scans so know it is new! I am booked for another scan in early January but just wanted to check if should be worried there isn’t a heartbeat at this stage (I was told 6 weeks is earliest would probably be able to get one but still have anxiety that it wasn’t there!). Has anyone been in similar position and any advice on how to not end up doing tests constantly to check? I have told my mum and was going to tell in laws and close friend over Christmas as is going to be obvious not drinking/ I have had sickness but not sure if should hold off now!

sally16 · 22/12/2022 10:28

@Buttons86 congratulations 💙
Try not too worry, some people don't see a heart beat till 7 weeks! So you are a bit early :) xx

BCxx · 22/12/2022 11:18

@Rose05 i think it’s the max one I take but it’s just one normal capsule and one omega 3 capsule? Maybe that’s not max

@Buttons86 I really wouldn’t panic when you’re not even 6 weeks yet, as easy as it is to say! I’m due 22nd august and my first scan isn’t until the 31st and even then I’m trying to prepare myself that there’s a chance itl be too soon if dates are off a bit

BCxx · 22/12/2022 11:26

My husband was home early yesterday and I’m still trying to get the last few bits of work done but my toddler is just at that stage where he wants to clamber all over me at all times. He wants to stand on the sofa and knock all the Christmas cards off the windowsill or post them down the back. He wants to take baubles off the Christmas tree and launch them across the room. Everything just gets knocked over and brought out (sorry guys I’m really not selling this baby thing am I? 😂)

It usually doesn’t bother me at all but I think the fact we’ve both had covid has made me more easily annoyed. My husband will sit on one sofa relaxing while I’m sat on the other getting my hair pulled and him bouncing on me. Obviously you’ve got to entertain it to an extent but I think he forgets he gets to go away out to work and get a break from it. He will always choose to sit with me, obviously just because he’s so used to me being there. My mum used to be good at regularly taking him but she’s been ill last week too. She came to take him this morning and I felt like I had about 3 seconds of patience left. It’s almost like just knowing I’m pregnant with covid too just makes me want people to help me and feel sorry for me and no one was 😂 I was so short tempered while my mum faffed about getting him ready, wanting the buggy, wanting his nappy changed before they left etc. I could tell I was being so grumpy for no reason but just wanted peace 😭😂 hoping I can snap out of it before Christmas! I think it’s knowing I have all these things still to do that’s probably getting to me

rhib27 · 22/12/2022 12:01

Can anyone else relate to a 'full' feeling? I'm not sure how to explain it other than that. When I sneeze I feel like my belly is going to burst for example, or just then I stretched up to put something on a high shelf and my stomach felt all tight and restricted. Hope this makes sense and someone can relate?

somuchtolearnabout · 22/12/2022 12:30

For those not on the Fb group, I just had an early scan. Everything was perfect! Dated me slightly ahead by 2 days at 7w2 rather than 7w. Little heart beating away. Everything was textbook. What a relief. We also had the sneak peek blood test done to find out the gender so I’ll get an email around mid Jan. Now off to celebrate! Good luck to everyone else today xxxx

UsernameNotPresent · 22/12/2022 13:15

@somuchtolearnabout such a wonderful news re scan!
@BCxx my temper is also very short lately. I feel so guilty when I don't deal with toddler tantrums/general boundary testing the way I want to. I am hoping annual leave will help with that. I don't like being a snappy mum and wife.

BoodifulGoose · 22/12/2022 13:15

@BCxx that sounds no fun at all I'm sorry :( 💙

@Buttons86 I think that's very very early, my midwife told me not to book until 8 weeks to allow best chance of seeing heartbeat So I wouldn't worry about not seeing one yet x

@somuchtolearnabout YAY! so happy for you 😁😁💙
