Welcome @Leamch That does sound very scary. I’ve had several panics now though and am always told not to worry and scan is not warranted.

AnnieApple123 · 20/12/2022 19:44

My ‘ectopic twinge’ has suddenly come back this evening after disappearing for a day-and-a-half. Am really fed up to be honest. It feels like there’s always something to worry about and I’m driving everyone else in my life crazy with it too.

2020in2020 · 20/12/2022 19:54

Hello, mind if I join?

I’m 6+4 with our third. DDs are 9 and 6, so pretty terrified I’ll have forgotten everything 😕 don’t have to worry about sleepless nights as DD 2 still sleeps with us every night and is a super light sleeper who snores, thrashes about and grinds her teeth. I’ve got 9 months to get her sleeping through the night in her own bed!

Congratulations to all on the thread - I’m also terrified about the prospect of twins!

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 20/12/2022 19:58

@AnnieApple123 I keep getting sharp pain on one side too. I called the EPU and they said as long as I don't have any bleeding or shoulder pain then to try not to stress too much. One sided pain can be normal.

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 20/12/2022 20:00

@2020in2020 congratulations!

BusyBushBaby · 20/12/2022 20:10

So I had a scan just over a week ago and it is twins but one of them was more developed than the other so I think it's probably more likely to be a vanishing twin situation. I've had several losses before so I'm just keeping everything crossed that at least one of them makes it. In the unlikely event that both make it I'll worry about managing with 2 later!

BCxx · 20/12/2022 20:19

@AnnieApple123 I had no idea breastfeeding increased your chances so much! I think you’re safe then 😂

BCxx · 20/12/2022 20:19

@BusyBushBaby yes! I knew someone had said this, just couldn’t remember who it was. Will you just wait and see at 12 weeks now?

BCxx · 20/12/2022 20:24

@Amme18 amazing, congratulations on the scan!

BCxx · 20/12/2022 20:25

@MsRT phew! 😅 haha congrats!

BCxx · 20/12/2022 20:28

@MinnieFirstTimeMum haha sorry 🤣 are you getting an early scan?

@sally16 aw gosh that would be hard going! I think as much as twins would be difficult for your first pregnancy, at least you’d have all your time to give to them, I’m not sure how it would go now I have a toddler too! We’ll cross that bridge a week on Saturday if I find out it’s me 🤣

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 20/12/2022 20:29

@BCxx yes I have got one on Saturday. So I will let you know if I am that 1 in 25 😂😂

BusyBushBaby · 20/12/2022 20:35

@BCxx no the hospital have agreed to do an extra scan due to my history

somuchtolearnabout · 20/12/2022 20:41

@ChloeN I'm already (hopefully) going to have 3 kids under 5 (well, technically 3 kids under 4.5 but let's not split hairs 😂) so if it's me with twins I'm f*cked.

(Im obv joking, any baby is a blessing. But let's just say twins isn't part of the plan!)

BCxx · 20/12/2022 20:47

@BusyBushBaby ahh that’s good, when is your next one?

@MinnieFirstTimeMum 😂 take one for the team

Knov20 · 20/12/2022 20:50

@somuchtolearnabout wow that would be incredibly hard 😆 fingers crossed to just one little bubba!

Knov20 · 20/12/2022 20:53

@BCxx @Londongirl87 I'm now waiting on tests arriving via amazon on 22nd so going to have to wait until then! Xx

BCxx · 20/12/2022 20:56

@Knov20 that might be a good thing though if they’re taking til then and you can’t test! I’ve got my last digital left to do tomorrow morning for hopefully a 3+ 🤞🏼

AnnieApple123 · 20/12/2022 20:59

Welcome @2020in2020 My DS also co-sleeps. I don’t really have a plan tbh…

BCxx · 20/12/2022 21:00

Pre-drinks have been arranged for my night out on Friday, that threw a spanner in the works but I’ve still managed to get my excuses in as to why I need to drive 😂😭 I’d probably be as well wearing a t-shirt that says ‘I’m pregnant’ but they don’t know for sure I suppose. Im just going to need to do as many things as possible to throw them off in the next few weeks. If a second night out is arranged before mid February then that’s where I’m in trouble 😂

AnnieApple123 · 20/12/2022 21:02

Thanks for sharing that. Mine haven’t been concerned either. And this is definitely a dull not a sharp pain. I also feel something around the base of my leg on the other side sometimes. It probably isn’t even pregnancy-related.

Chocolotandtea · 20/12/2022 21:08

@BoodifulGoose do you mind me asking if your partner went to your booking app? My husband is desperate to come even though I keep telling him he doesn’t need to 🙈

DB1109 · 20/12/2022 21:09

First time pregnancy here been lurking in the thread. I’m feeling really guilty because I’m not jumping for joy, it was planned and is what I want but when I saw the positive test it’s almost like reality hit and I tend to go between terrified of all the change to come and then also completely detached from it, as if it’s not actually happening. Im only about 6 weeks and have had no symptoms whatsoever which I think is adding to the lack of feeling for what’s happening. Has anyone else been like this? I feel ‘not normal’ and just disappointed cause I didn’t expect to be like this at all

sally16 · 20/12/2022 21:26

@DB1109 I was this way in my first pregnancy.. I was happy... it was what I wanted but I didn't feel like I was supposed to I suppose.. then when he was born it was quite traumatic and it took me a while to realise it was over and be besotted with him!
Not everyone has love at first sight, wether it's the test, the scan, the first look after birth.. everyone's story and feeling are different and that's ok!
Your whole life changes when you have a baby! I quick trip to the shops isn't the same etc, work changes due to childcare and toddler illness..

It's normal to be apprehensive! You'll find your moment when your ready 💙 congratulations!!

edithmay · 20/12/2022 21:30

Hi, thought I would join. Just found out I'm pregnant with baby number 4 Confused. Roughly 8 weeks, EDD is August 2nd. This time had no morning sickness (last 2 had chronic sickness!) It still hasn't sunk in that I'll have 4 kids under 5! 😬
