@DesertSnow what lovely news!! Glad all looked perfect xx

mgwyegve · 20/12/2022 12:52

Hi everyone!

hope you don’t mind me joining. I’m currently 4+6 and flo predicts a due date of the 24th of August!

We’d been TTC for 10 months so the pregnancy has come as a very welcome shock 🥰 it still doesn’t feel real. I don’t really have any symptoms yet and just don’t feel any different!

I have been really struggling with my anxiety and am just petrified of anything going wrong.. really wish I could skip forwards a few weeks! Trying to remind myself that most pregnancies will result in a baby.

so lovely to see so many BFP’s and August babies! Best of luck and congratulations everyone! Xx

DesertSnow · 20/12/2022 13:05

@ChloeN Thank you! DH was thrilled it wasn't twins 🤣

@sally16 oh yes I'm trying not to worry as I know I'll be looked after if it's an issue. I know cysts are quite common and usually are ok.

@AnnieApple123 ah glad you're not worried so much about ectopic today but yes I hear you with new worries every day! And it's so easy to overthink when we have so little knowledge or control at this stage. The sonographer didn't seem massively concerned about the cyst, he didn't say I should go and speak to someone immediately, just that I should mention it in my next visit. I guess with scans through pregnancy it will be monitored to some extent anyway. In terms of free fluid (I did a very quick Google 🙈) apparently can be due to endometriosis (which I was under investigation for before falling pregnant) and it's not a concern unless there is a huge amount (which I don't think there is as sonographer again was casual about it). So I think it's a wait and see and try to stay positive situation ☺️

Oh I also feel a bit of a fraud now as they estimated my due date as 30th July 🤣 But I'm aware that can change and as it's a first baby my bet would be August anyway.

Welcome and congrats @mgwyegve! Such a nerve-wracking time I know but how exciting to get your BFP in time for Christmas. Hope you find this thread useful. Try to remember that the odds are in your favour ☺️

Is anyone else's booking app a call over Skype/teams?
I'm already dreading it! We had DS sons meetings so far over teams and I'm always struggling to keep up/keep concentrating 🤦🏼‍♀️

Alexandra07 · 20/12/2022 13:26

I had a scare, light pink blood on paper yesterday, bright red this morning. And I am abroad visiting family! Obviously I thought of the worst. I had similar bleeding when I miscarried, no bleeding with my first pregnancy. The hospital was amazing, I was seen by a gynecologist, found the embryo and could see the heart bitting! For now I am still pregnant! She prescribed progesterone, has anyone taken progesterone before in a similar situation?

@AnnieApple123 glad to hear your consultant appointment went well!

@Megandhi there is already a Facebook group with around 50 members from here, would you like to join that one? Or you prefer a smaller one? Can someone share the link for the new members? Can't find it.

Recoba · 20/12/2022 14:11

@VickiGo and @blondebanana - congratulations on your pregnancies! I was exactly the same before I had my first, was really worried about holding babies, had no family or close friends who'd had kids. Then when I did get to hold my son it was one of the easiest things in the world. Now it's less easy (as he's 2.5y and about 15kg!), but certainly I found that when it was my own child it was much much easier.

BCxx · 20/12/2022 14:14

@blondebanana this made me laugh 😂 I was so not a baby person before I had my son, I actually wasn’t even 100% on having kids at all until I one day changed my mind. The holding the baby thing is really bizarre.. I was so nervous about us both being okay that when we met I didnt really think twice. It also helped in a weird way that it was covid so my husband had to go home not long after and by the time he came back the next day for us, I felt like I knew him so well and was really comfortable at picking him up etc whereas for my husband he was just meeting him for the second time really. Weirdly when it’s your baby you don’t worry about doing the wrong thing when you’re holding it. Even now (he’s 1), if someone asks me to hold their baby or I go to visit a newborn and they go to pass them to me I go straight back to inexperienced ‘omg what do you do?’ again 😂 It’s the best thing ever!

BCxx · 20/12/2022 14:22

@DesertSnow congratulations on the scan! What a relief and so good you managed to hang off until 8 weeks so maybe saw a bit more than you’d see at 6/7.

I think I’m going to try and start running again. I remember when I was about 9/10 weeks last time I was just so completely floored you couldn’t have paid me to go a run. Still only 5 and a half so thinking I’ll do it while I can. I have my night out on Friday and the Christmas Eve parkrun is on Saturday morning. My friends know I do a lot of running so I’m actually thinking of just saying I’m not drinking because I’m doing that (and actually doing it -slowly) so they won’t suspect I could be pregnant if I’m doing the parkrun as they don’t run and would assume you couldn’t do that! 😂

BCxx · 20/12/2022 14:24

@Alexandra07 that must have been scary, especially away from home but at least you’ve had some reassurance. It hopefully came from elsewhere and wasn’t related to the baby 🤞🏼

BCxx · 20/12/2022 14:27

Also everyone who has gone for scans so far has been having one baby.. if the odds of twins are 1 in 25 at least one of us has to be having twins.. probably me 😂

VickiGo · 20/12/2022 14:33

@BCxx this'll be quite fun to see over the coming weeks of us all being in the first trimester and finding out how many babies at various times.. both my side & partners side have twins in the family (distant-ish) so who knows!

sally16 · 20/12/2022 14:38

@BCxx the older you are too, I'm 31.. My friends 14 weeks and having twins, none in either family, she's got the fear big time 😂

BCxx · 20/12/2022 14:56

@sally16 haha I bet 😂 it’s the fear of so many things.. even just physically being able to fit two babies in there by the end! Then there’s the looking after two newborns bit 🙈

BCxx · 20/12/2022 14:57

@VickiGo yeah excited to see who it is 👀😂

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 20/12/2022 14:59

@BCxx omg don't say that. Both mine and my partner's side both have twins. And my test picked up a positive 6 days before I was due on my period! So we are in a constant panic about having twins 🤣🤣

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 20/12/2022 15:01

@DesertSnow it is good to know some people are still exercising, I might brave my normal 5km weekend run this weekend. With this being my first k am just panicky about doing anything wrong.

However I can't feel this on edge for 9 months so I think I just need to get back out there 🙂

AnnieApple123 · 20/12/2022 15:01

Oh @Alexandra07 that sounds quite terrifying. I’m so glad you were able to get help quickly and that all appears to be OK. Where are you?

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 20/12/2022 15:02

@Alexandra07 I am so glad you were able to be seen and all is okay xx

AnnieApple123 · 20/12/2022 15:05

@BCxx I am breastfeeding which is said to increase the chance of twins by 9x. The obstetrician I saw yesterday said she didn’t think it likely. Said I felt to be measuring slightly ahead for 8 weeks but not so much so that she suspected multiples.

sally16 · 20/12/2022 15:05

@BCxx I think 2 newborns in the house would be fairly easy.. I think buying a bigger car and 2 of bloody everything would be the bankrupt moment 🤣 and trying to do anything with 2 baby's and a possible ASD DS who's a runner 🤣

AnnieApple123 · 20/12/2022 15:15

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 20/12/2022 14:59

@BCxx omg don't say that. Both mine and my partner's side both have twins. And my test picked up a positive 6 days before I was due on my period! So we are in a constant panic about having twins 🤣🤣

I had very high HCG in my first pregnancy and was worried about twins. Either that or a molar pregnancy. Ended up with one healthy singleton.

The doctor I saw then was crap. When I told him I was worried about my HCG, he asked what it was, then said, ‘Oh my goodness that IS high!’

When I expressed concern about molar pregnancy, he said, ‘Yeah it might be that.’ 🙄 He could have said something along the lines of, ‘That’s very, very rare. Less than 1 in 700 pregnancies. It’s very unlikely to be that.’

MsRT · 20/12/2022 15:17

Hi ladies.

had a scan this morning and all is looking great. I’m measuring bang on my predictions at 8 weeks 1 day! very, very happy there’s only one in there 🤣

AnnieApple123 · 20/12/2022 15:24

@MsRT Great news! I’m apparently measuring the same as you. xx

mamabeeboo · 20/12/2022 15:31

@MsRT how did you get an early scan? So exciting!

I am roughly 5 weeks along, after a MMC in September. Hoping and praying it goes well this time. I'm carrying around a very heavy and sick toddler today, and nervous about it affecting the pregnancy.
