@Hannargh I'm glad all is still going well!
If I could give one bit of advice it would be to avoid sugar and hour before bed lol. Pancake day was a nightmare, I have classic sugar and lemon on my pancakes and don't really have much sugar any other time. Ate quite late and bump had a bloody field day. It was like a rave going on in there from about midnight till 4am lol. He had a sugar rush 🤣🤣🤣

You super lucky to still be in jeans at this point! I bought a pair of 1 size up stretchy jeggings from newlook at about 10 weeks and they still fit with room to spare. Other than that I'm in leggings or gym kit lol. Haven't bought any maternity stuff... trying to find anything in shops is impossible! Xxx

Hi all, I've been MIA on mumsnet I now spend most of my life on peanut🙄

Really really hope you're doing okay @pugsB and hope to see you back on here with good news soon.

Lovely to hear how all of your pregnancies are progressing! Congrats on the boy @eleveneleven11

I feel huge already only 12w I have my official scan on Monday I've had two private scans so feeling relatively peaceful unlike dp who is freaking out, wish us luck!

Hannargh · 02/03/2023 20:32

@TheCakeIsALie18 urgh I've been trying to find a few maternity essential pieces in the shops and am really fed up about the whole thing. They only seem to be sold online, and I really want to try things on in store first. I've got a few pairs of leggings, some stretchy H&M basic tops and actually a really nice swimsuit from George. But I'm personally very offended by either the cost or the lack of choice 🙃

TheCakeIsALie18 · 02/03/2023 20:44

@Hannargh yep I know that feeling. At 18 weeks just after I popped hubby and I went to a massive M&S near us with a £100 gift card that we had from the wedding specifically so I could get some maternity things. Thinking that M&S would have a great selection seeing as how huge it was...

Spent half an hour looking around trying to find a maternity section... nothing... spoke to a lady working there and she said they don't do maternity wear, but I might find something online. I found 1 pair of maternity jeans in 3 colours online and that was it.

Because I lift heavy I've got a fair amount of muscle and need to try clothes on, especially trousers and jeans... 😪 infuriating how little there is around... xxx

Hey ladies how you all getting on?

This is a good week! Last day in work on Friday, my birthday tomorrow, and South Wales has been blanketed in snow today haha.

Takeaway is enroute and 0% poured into a glass. Let's chill out! Baby has been wiggling his tiny bum around all afternoon and it's sticking way out of my right side. Like a little alien trying to escape 😅

Hope all your bumps are doing well ❤️❤️❤️❤️ xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 what a great week! so jealous of you finishing work! i still have a while to go (mid-june) but counting down the days hahah.

what have you got planned for your birthday? :)

currently can feel my little boy under my laptop pushing out and wriggling around also. im currently obsessed with getting into bed in the evenings and watching my tummy ripple as he's super active around 9-10pm!

not much to report on here. im in week 23 and plodding along nicely. bump is still pretty small and easy to disguise in baggy clothes and layers but once i've got my gym kit/leggings on it's pretty undeniable haha. looking forward to seeing the midwife in a few weeks :)

TheCakeIsALie18 · 09/03/2023 12:50

@eleveneleven11 aww I'm glad it's all going so well for you! Don't worry, June will be here before you know it. I don't envy you being pregnant during the summer though 😬😬 I'm hot all the time and yesterday it was -5degrees... I've given up sleeping with a quilt over me 🤣 normally I'm bloody cold all the time!

Aww yes! Our sprog is super active at that time of night too. I get into bed about midnight and he has a party till 1am lol.

Not much planned for my birthday though 🤷🏼‍♀️ we might pop out for a meal on the weekend but that's about it. I'll be honest, I'm more gutted that baby isn't here for my birthday or for mothers day next weekend 🤣 xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 wild! so cool that we've spent pretty much this whole journey with you!

how are you feeling about birth? x

TheCakeIsALie18 · 17/03/2023 08:43

@eleveneleven11 it's nice I've had people to share it with ❤️
I'm feeling pretty calm, looking forward to it even. Just want to meet little man now.

How's things with you? xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 that's great, glad you're feeling so positive :)

all great here thank you! feeling good. i'm on annual leave today for the first time this year so having a super slow morning! and prepping for a weekend away in manchester in the morning x

Hannargh · 18/03/2023 22:36

@TheCakeIsALie18 that's mad that you're so close to full term! How are you feeling about everything? I've just started NCT classes so super interested to hear about other peoples' birth plans.

My husband brought covid home last weekend so I've been working from home all week and feeling like a grotbag. Taking ages to get a negative test too. Also getting stressed from a distance as it's been such a busy week at work that I've been organising and I've missed it all (my poor colleagues!). I love my job and it's weird to think there's so little time left in it. But I'm also very excited for mat leave (and hopefully the down time I'll get before little one arrives).

TheCakeIsALie18 · 18/03/2023 23:06

@eleveneleven11 aww nice I hope you have a nice time away! I'm down in Kent visiting my dad this weekend. Last chance before sprog arrives lol. But because we are so close to term we packed all the baby's things, my hospital bag, and the car seat just incase baby decided to make an early appearance... no sign yet thankfully! Xxx

@Hannargh I'm glad everything's going well for you! I've got my birth plan all written out but haven't been able to go through it with my midwife because I haven't seen her for like 10 weeks... she hasn't been at my appointments and I've had random midwives instead 🤷🏼‍♀️ so at this rate I'll go into labour and will just have to hope for the best because I've had no one to talk to about it! I'd you want to see my birth plan I'm happy to post a picture of it 😊

Mat leave is going nicely...we are only a week in and my days are already blurring together lol but it's nice to have some down time! How long have you got left? Xxx

Hannargh · 21/03/2023 13:22

@TheCakeIsALie18 ooh if you wouldn't mind sharing, I'd love to see your birth plan.

Had our 31 week midwife appointment today - fundal height is still average for the week (31 inches) and baby was head down for the appointment, which is a good sign. She's definitely been rotating around but we will see what she's doing at 36 weeks!
I've got a birth choices call coming up next week to plan where I can have this baby. My higher BMI means I'm technically over the limit for our MLU but they are also a 15min drive from our house, rather than a 45min drive, which makes a big difference, and everything else has been straightforward, so we shall see ...

How are you spending your mat leave days? Much left to do before baby arrives?

TheCakeIsALie18 · 21/03/2023 13:32

@Hannargh I will pop some pictures of my birth plan when I get back to the car. Currently waiting for my 36 weeks scan and they haven't finished seeing patients from this morning..... it's going to be a long wait!

It's good baby is head down. Mine has been head down since 24 weeks lol and is now sitting inside my ribcage 👌🏻🙃😒

Scan today is with the consultant midwife so I'm hoping to be signed off from consultant led today. My BMI is high too but it's because I power lift lol. I don't look like my BMI is high 🤣 I'm hoping to be able to birth in the MLU too. But it's attached to the CLU at the hospital so if anything was to go wrong, at least it's a short trip up in the lift lol. Xxx

TheCakeIsALie18 · 21/03/2023 15:17

@Hannargh here is my birth plan... or rather preferences.

And good news! I've just been signed off consultant led and over to the midwife unit ❤️ xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 ah thanks for sharing! Really interesting to see how it's all laid out. I think that's the next task for my next midwife appointment, which will be after my birth choices clinic call. The recommended MLU is also attached to a hospital but it's a solid 45min drive away, and I have MLUs closer at 15min drive away so I'm pushing to be considered there first because I want to stay at home for as long as possible before heading out.

Yeah, I'm big but I'm not huge (or at least not as much as I should be based on my BMI) and I'm pretty active and it definitely feels like there are a lot of stomach muscles there now they're being pushed out! I've also put very little weight on during pregnancy (probably because I had whatever I needed already!) Which I'm also hoping will be a positive for me.

How was your 36 week scan? All good and on track?

Hannargh · 25/03/2023 10:56

And great news that you're back into midwife led care!

TheCakeIsALie18 · 25/03/2023 11:04

@Hannargh yeah our hospital with the MLU is 45 minutes away too (without traffic...). The nearest birth centre is 50 minutes away. We are pretty rural in South Wales lol. I will be staying at home as long as possible and will just have to suck it up in the car on the drive to the hospital lol.

I hope the birth choices chat goes well. I haven't had a chat about anything to do with birth... my community midwife is never at my appointments and the ones I do get don't seem to have time for questions 🤷🏼‍♀️ so I put my plan together by myself and I will just give it to the hospital when we go in lol.

Yeah scan went well thanks lovely. He's got a round tummy lol so it's put his estimated weight up quite a bit but I doubt he will be as big as they said lol. They said he weighs about 7lb 3oz lol which would put him at over 9lbs at birth haha. My bump isn't particularly big lol.

He has also dropped this week so that's exciting. Not long left to wait now ❤️❤️ xxx

TheCakeIsALie18 · 30/03/2023 14:19

@eleveneleven11 I hope so! The eviction notice has been served and I'm now using clary sage and getting intimate with my breast pump haha.

How's things with you? Xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 all good here thanks :) i thinkkkkk i had sciatica or some trapped nerve pain last week in my back that was pretty awful and was worried it was coming back today so have been working with a hot water bottle behind me all day but so far so good. i have my pregnancy yoga class tonight too which i always feel great after!

hoping to start some nursery prep this weekend. 3 months to go!

Hannargh · 02/04/2023 08:50

I'm on leave for a week this week, and so happy to have some time off. We got a lot of nursery stuff sorted over the last few months (just gradually) so I'm soon going to be washing lots or baby clothes and stuff to get ready, which is weird and exciting! We are also going away for our "final" holiday (and 1st wedding anniversary) this weekend too!

Birth choices clinic went well - basically explaining the risks with having a higher BMI and using a MLU rather than one attached to a hospital, but the ambulance transfer time from the MLU is faster than getting to hospital from my own home, and they've given some advice and confirmed they're able to support the decision I make. So unless things go a bit screwy in the next few appointments, we should be good to go.
So definitely time to blow up the exercise ball and start bouncing to make sure baby is in the right position for her 36 week scan!

So exciting that you've hit 37 weeks now @TheCakeIsALie18 - hope it's not too long a wait for you!
I was a big baby and my mum went over 40 weeks (we think) so I'm expecting things to run over a bit, but we will see!

TheCakeIsALie18 · 02/04/2023 14:23

@eleveneleven11 awww I can't wait to see some nursery pics. Im glad it's all going well for you! The next 2.5 months will fly by... then the last couple weeks not so much 😅😅

@Hannargh aww we had our 1st anniversary get away just before Xmas. Luckily I wasn't the size of a house then!

Glad the appointment went well. I had that chat with the midwife on Tuesday when she signed me off consultant led. It will still take us 45 minutes without traffic to get to the hospital though lol 😅😅

I'm hoping I don't go over. I'm officially done 🤣 xxx
