thanks @TheCakeIsALie18 : i agree completely! I have every sympathy with anybody who has gone through a miscarriage. I am absolutely mad how little its discussed in the mainstream! my biggest fear was starting to loose my baby in a public place so i had a pad on everywhere i went just in case. I worried how i would cover it up at work. And i felt guilty that no one would ever know a little human that wasn't meant to be because I couldn't do enough for it! Its such a multi-faceted process that hits you at so many levels! Women go through a shit ton and yet there is absolutely no formal way of addressing it at work and in families or public.

so ya, i am going to start by including my family in this and if I have to, also my boss! i plan on demanding a leave if things don't go to plan with this pregnancy.

Information is a must for me too! It gives you a sense of control doesn't it?! Thanks for sharing your early ultrasound findings! It must have been so scary when they told you that. Sooo wonderful that everything worked out ❤️

TheCakeIsALie18 · 13/01/2023 15:03

@pugsB I agree. Definitely ask for a few days leave. Not only is it emotionally stressful, but it takes a lot out of your body too. Rest is necessary. I still have everything crossed for you though. When are you going for your next check, did you say?

Information is great tool to help calm nerves... at least it is for me. Xxx

I wish I had something at the moment to calm me. One of our young cats was diagnosed on our 1st wedding anniversary just before Christmas with Lymphoma. Hubby has just taken her to the vet to get some steroids because there is nothing they can do for her long term, but she has taken a turn for the worse in the last 2 days and we don't know if he will have to make the decision there and then... we don't think she will come home. Struggling quite a lot at the moment. Said goodbyes to her just in case and now I'm sitting here crying my eyes out nor knowing what to do with myself until he gets home. I have a massage client due at 4.30 too so God knows what state I'll be in for that 😭😭 xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 oh I am so sorry about your cat 😢😢! I hope the little one fights as much as it can! You will get through your meeting. just focus! I found out about my hcg results 20 minutes before a meeting and managed fine although barely! I was even proud of myself after that. Just hang in there and let yourself free to feel whatever you want till then. Its gonna be fine..

So for all my the tests/scans so far it was through my GP and I think this is about as much as she would do. She pretty much looked at my first hcg and was like you are all fine even though she knew she is supposed to look at hcg rise since she herself ordered two tests in a row! she can be forgetful like that. I had to pry out the 2nd US referral from her as she didn't think i would need it. I don't blame her too much as i think GPs aren't supposed to know much about pregnancy. don't have a followup meeting with her about this. I am transferring over to my OB next week and will let them know whats been going on and share my reports. They refused to see me earlier than 8 weeks 😑

pugsB · 13/01/2023 16:23

@TheCakeIsALie18 let us know how is goes with your cat..and the meeting..

TheCakeIsALie18 · 13/01/2023 17:19

@pugsB my cat came home, with steroids. So hopefully that will make her comfortable. Vet reckons she has another 2-3 weeks. But at least she will be more comfortable than she has been.

I postponed my massage clients to tomorrow morning. My head is a mess after today. They've been lovely about it though.

Have you thought about getting a private scan done? We couldn't get a private one until 8 weeks. Some places do them transvaginally rather than transabdominally. Baby is so small at that point they may not be able to see anything even if there is something there. The fact that your hcg is showing as normal try and take that as a positive, even if your GP is a little forgetful haha. Definitely let us know how you get on with your OB. Little blueberry is still cooking away nicely ❤️❤️❤️ xxx

@pugsB aw yaaay. What amazing news congrats on your little miracle that must have been such a beautiful moment finding out all is well.

I've been feeling a bit worried not gettin any nausea and somy symptoms coming and going but holding hope. Doing my CB tomorrow hoping for my 3+ so please wish me luck!

eleveneleven11 · 13/01/2023 20:02

hey everyone - wow loads to catch up on!

@Nypie yay massive congratulations!! how lovely 🥰 how are you doing?

@pugsB i am so so relieved that everything is ok with you! what a blessing. i had everything crossed. i don't really understand all the scientific things you talked about hahaha🤣 but the most important thing is you're both ok and i am truly thrilled about that!
it will be so nice for you to start sharing the news too. i felt exactly the same this pregnancy after losing my last - i just wanted everyone in it with me from the start and it really helped me. funny you should mention a fear of miscarrying in a public place. well, it's not funny at all but i was literally on holiday in my swimming costume in the toilets at the blue lagoon in iceland when i started losing mine. horrendous! luckily i also carried pads around with me but they were in the car out in the car park so i just had to use tissue until i could access them. so not ideal...

@TheCakeIsALie18 omg nooo your cat! that's heartbreaking. we really let ourselves in for heart break when we get a pet don't we 😢 she is very lucky to have you keeping her comfortable at home, no matter what happens. sending love!

nothing new to report here. actually feeling a bit sick the last week or so (i'm 15+3 today). not sure if i'm managing to eat enough at the moment but i don't feel hungry half the time and then suddenly get hit with sickness at meal times before i eat.. got my 16 week midwife appointment next week and really looking forward to that 🥰

TheCakeIsALie18 · 13/01/2023 20:23

@Nypie symptoms coming and going is perfectly normal! Not feeling any nausea, also normal. I didn't have any nasty symptoms other than tiredness and even that came and went!

@eleveneleven11 hey, thank you. Yeah we do. But I wouldn't have it any other way.
Whenever I get too hungry is the only time I feel sick. I always carry small snacks with me everywhere I go. If I wait even 10 minutes too long before eating something I feel awful! Baby takes every last calorie 🤣 I'm glad every is going well with you though! I can't believe yours nearly 16 weeks ready! I'm 26+1 now 😬😬😬 xxx

pugsB · 13/01/2023 21:30

aww..ya you can only hope she stays as comfortable going forward as possible ❤️❤️

I am not based in the UK. I was only able to get referrals through my GP till now which is quite fortunate i suppose now that i know your situation. the OB/MWs only see you after 8 weeks here which she understood and that is why gave me referrals so while i did all the testing i don't have a formal diagnosis from relevant doctors about anything..lol. My GP has washed her hands-off me by now. Will keep you all updated!

pugsB · 13/01/2023 21:43

oh just seeing messages from the rest of you!! i came back to check about @TheCakeIsALie18 's cat and just saw her message only for some reason!

@Nypie yes it was quite a shock! i was besides myself with grief before and then relief afterwards! I think you maybe too early with the nausea..its supposed to start 6-8 weeks. fingers crossed for you!

@eleveneleven11 thank you sweetie! I felt so gracious thinking how blessed my little one was to have so many lovely ladies thinking and praying for it! Oh God! that must have been terrifying! exactly the kind of scenario i had nightmares about. How strong you must have been at that time ❤️❤️

Nypie · 14/01/2023 00:13

👋👋👋👋@eleveneleven11 lovely to hear you're progressing nicely, though must be so hard with the sickness (a little be careful what you wish for, for me!) I'm good thank you happy to be finally here gonna tell my mum 2moro so really looking forward to that its been very weird as we talk almosr everyday.

Thank you! @TheCakeIsALie18 thats really reassuring to hear. So sorry to hear about your kitty, hope they'll be as comfortable possible with all the smelly tuna fish (...my cats fav that and greek yogurt)

@pugsB aw so happy its working out wishing you smooth sailing now you dont need anymore worries! I'm having a massive fear of losing this pregnancy at work, today I had to talk myself out of wearing my cup 🙄

When did everyone do their referrals?

Nypie · 14/01/2023 17:08

So so happy. Going to do my referral and book my early scan :)

TheCakeIsALie18 · 14/01/2023 21:50

@Nypie yay!!!! Progressing nicely! I never got a 3+ lol. Jealous 🤣🤣 happy for you xxx

OP posts:
eleveneleven11 · 15/01/2023 08:34

@Nypie amazingggg! i still get such a buzz from looking at a positive pregnancy test there really is nothing like it 😍

Nypie · 15/01/2023 20:25

Haha thank you @TheCakeIsALie18 clearblue have such a strange range I hear loads of people have to wait ages for that 3+

@eleveneleven11 do yours still work? Its such a nice feeling!

TheCakeIsALie18 · 15/01/2023 20:32

@Nypie yeah, I got the 1-2 and 2-3 at the "correct" time. But that was when we went for a scan and it came back 2 weeks early. So even when I took a clear blue a couple weeks after it still showed 2-3. Im just happy that everything has progressed normally 💙 xxx

OP posts:
eleveneleven11 · 16/01/2023 07:26

@Nypie i haven't done a test since about 6 weeks i dont think, as i used all mine up and i can't be bothered to buy any more so i'm not sure!

now i just look at other peoples and get second-hand excitement 🤣 x

TheCakeIsALie18 · 16/01/2023 10:38

@eleveneleven11 🤣🤣 I was testing till about 10 weeks... had soooo many tests and could bear to see them go to waste 🤦🏼‍♀️😅 you've done well stopping at 6 weeks! Xxx

Prep has officially started.

Today I've emptied the small room that will be baby's room. Moved all the furniture by myself to our spare double room. Built the cot and started moving the baby's furniture in.
It's like a giant game of tetris trying yo slide everything around to get it to fit lol xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 aww.. so cute and cozy! Wow you are super women for doing this yourself.

@Nypie congrats! seems like things are progressing just fine. Try not to worry if you can. Its harder said than done i know!

@eleveneleven11 let us know how your appointment goes!

We surprised our families this weekend with the news and everyone was super happy as expected! My husband recorded everyones reaction which he really really wanted to do but ended up making my dad super curious with his preparations and all. Dad told me afterwards that he had pretty much guessed it! oh well..

eleveneleven11 · 17/01/2023 07:34

@TheCakeIsALie18 ahhhh good work!! i can't wait to start all this. my mum is an interior designer so i'm going to get her to help me make the nursery look fab!

i've also got quite a small space to work with so need to be savvy with storage. are you putting a wardrobe in there or just storage in a changing unit? any other ideas on where things will be kept? husband is set on getting a wardrobe but i do feel like it might just be one item of furniture too many for the space!

@pugsB howwwww lovely! i bet it feels amazing to have the news out with your nearest and dearest! and to have their reactions to look back on. how are you feeling about everything at the moment? hope you are taking some time to relax ❤️

TheCakeIsALie18 · 17/01/2023 10:55

@pugsB Awww yay! I'm glad the announcement went well! ❤️

@eleveneleven11 yeah, it's great to start getting things sorted. The room is only 2x2.5m (might be 2x3) so really tiny. Thankfully it has a small built in wardrobe so don't need that. We have the cot, a changing unit, a small narrow set of drawers, and a chair as the main bits of furniture in there. And that is the room crammed full. There is also a small chest that was at the end of our bed (had to move it to make room for the small crib in our room for the first couple months, and a beanbag on top of that. But they will both move eventually lol.

I'll post pictures when all the furniture is in place. Then we will just need to paint in there. Xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 amazing, sounds like you've smashed that and will be able to fit everything you need and more! yesss do share pics! x

Nypie · 17/01/2023 13:47

@eleveneleven11 I think I'll be done by 7 weeks, well thats when my test will be done and I'll have my early scan, not sure what I'll do with my time testing is just a part of my routine now 😂😂
Lovee the second hand excitement 😂😂 I've just felt that for @TheCakeIsALie18 nursery prep!

@pugsB that must have been lovely! We filmed my mums reaction over the weekend...even with the baby clothes in her hand she still didnt get it 😂😂😂

Having a half day off today tmi but my stomach has been a mess. Just resting now with all the water.

TheCakeIsALie18 · 17/01/2023 14:37

@Nypie sorry to hear you're not very well. I hope your tummy clears up soon!!

Testing was part of my routine till 10 weeks lol. I felt a little lost when I ran out of tests 🤣 soon got over it haha. Now just enjoy listening to everyone else's BFPs xxx
