@TheCakeIsALie18 sounds so gross 😅 mines not until mid april! x

pugsB · 10/02/2023 20:26

Hello ladies, hope everyone is well.

I had my 12 week ultrasound today and unfortunately they saw that the fetus had demised at 8w4d. I am now waiting to miscarry with help of meds over the weekend. Out at a pharmacy buying pads right now. This is so surreal.

TheCakeIsALie18 · 11/02/2023 08:28

@pugsB aww no I'm so sorry to hear this 😢😢 how are you holding up? We are here for it you need to chat. You and your body are amazing and the sad thing is that miscarriages are spoken about enough. They are so common yet still taboo. Most women that suffer a miscarriage will carry to term next time.
When I had mine, I found that reading about why they happen helped me a lot. It might do for you aswell.

Sending lots of love your way. Thinking of you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ xxx

@pugsB i am so so sorry 😢🤍 sending you loads of love and strength.

please don't feel like this defines your TTC journey. it's going to happen for you when you are ready to try again. always here for you xxx

pugsB · 11/02/2023 09:17

@eleveneleven11 @TheCakeIsALie18 thanks ladies. I think I am handling this much better than i thought. I think a part of me knew this could be coming ever since i had seen those low hcg rising times. And as it turns out i actively started miscarrying before having to take meds. Going through it now.. contractions and everything. also told our families which went much much smoother than i had thought. Thank you for your kind words again. I plan to jump right back to ttc if all goes well with the process and no complications 🤞🏼

eleveneleven11 · 11/02/2023 10:20

@pugsB you are such a super star 🤍 i'm so glad that you are handling it better than you thought you might. you've got this ❤️

i know when i went through it (granted it happened a lot earlier for me so less traumatic) i knew the only thing that would help me mentally would be to get pregnant again so although the nurses advised me against it, i started trying again as soon as my miscarriage finished and i ovulated. and within 2 weeks i was pregnant again. i know it happened quickly for @TheCakeIsALie18 too so i think there is some truth in being more fertile after a miscarriage.

obviously don't rush anything you aren't ready for but just know that this might just kick start your body for the real thing ❤️❤️

TheCakeIsALie18 · 11/02/2023 12:10

@pugsB I'm glad you're coping well. I felt the same. It's quite common, and as sad as it was for me, I felt quite practical. It wasn't the end of the world just another step on the journey.

I reckon you'll be pregnant again before you know it. As @eleveneleven11 said we started trying again straight away as well and I only had one cycle before falling pregnant. I definitely believe the talk about the first 3 months after a MC you are super fertile.

You and your body is so strong and the contractions will be over soon. I was lucky and my MC wasn't too painful. Hot water bottle and a bath did the trick for me.

Hang in there and use us to lean on if you need to ❤️❤️❤️ xxx

Thanks for the support ❤️❤️❤️..I think if it wasn't for you gals and soo soo many other stories i have heard on MN about miscarriages and later successful pregnancies too, I would have been in a much worse state mentally. I am glad your experiences around your MCs were physically manageable for you. Surprisingly, my experience so far has not been as bad as I read it would be for my stage of gestation. I think I am over the 'main' part of the MC and it honestly wasn't excessive. We were awake the whole night because of contractions but I could manage them with just a hot water bottle. Took pain medication at about 5 AM so i could sleep peacefully as I was just too sleepy/ tired by then. The contractions were for the most part like moderate period cramps but some were much more intense and felt different like I was about to have the most massive BM lol (sorry if TMI!). Didn't have too many of these though and everything passed quickly afterwards. Bleeding has been manageable so far. Maxi pads for the win! Hoping it stays this way and this isn't some cruel joke being played on me🤞🏼

I was also told to wait till one full period before trying again. Not sure if i want to wait though. I do want to make sure everything has left my system before I try again so I will do an ultrasound of two before tryin again. I am also waiting for NIPT to come back on the fetus although I am not sure if they would have found enough of its DNA in me since it passed so young. We will do some last rites today for closure and take couple of days off. I am soo soo glad this happened naturally over the weekend.

TheCakeIsALie18 · 11/02/2023 16:48

@pugsB I'm glad it passed reasonably smoothly for you. We were told that ideally we should wait a cycle, but we didn't we started trying right away. We just didn't catch on the first one. The midwife said that as long as you feel fine and don't end up with a temp, pain, or any other symptoms of infection or retained material you'll be fine.

You gotta do what is right for you ❤️❤️ I can't wait to hear about you next BFP xxx

@pugsB will they be seeing you again to do an ultrasound to ensure everything has passed from your womb? xx

pugsB · 13/02/2023 13:02

@eleveneleven11 I had my 1st trimester OB appointment booked for this friday. The OB who saw me at the hospital after my scan told me to keep the appointment. I think they will likely just scan me and check all is good then and there. If not then i will request one for week later.

Will keep you guys posted about what we end up doing. I am now torn between letting my cycle come or start trying immediately. I will be 35 in April so don't want to wait but also feel like I should let things reset down there. All in all i feel good given the circumstances. Emotionally I think I will be ready to try soon. I just feel sad for the baby who couldn't make it into the world but have no bitterness or jealousy or even anger. I am usually quick to anger so this has surprised me! We feel it simply wasn't our time to bring a new life into the world.

Hope all is well with you @eleveneleven11 @TheCakeIsALie18?

eleveneleven11 · 13/02/2023 15:48

@pugsB ok, that's good. it's strange, i felt totally the same after my MC. like weirdly okay after the initial shock and disappointment. which is so unlike me because i am typically a very emotional and anxious person.

don't rush into anything if something is holding you back. give your body a little break if that feels right and have a cycle. equally, if you don't feel like waiting, don't feel pressured to wait just because that's what you have advised.

maybe get back on tracking your ovulation (or start if you weren't previously) and just see how you feel when ovulation occurs again :)

everything is ok with me, aside from having a horrible cough and cold. sat here surrounded by oranges, orange juice and tissues! we have our 20 week scan tomorrow morning so just a matter of hours before we find out the gender. can't wait to share it with you all! x

pugsB · 13/02/2023 17:09

@eleveneleven11 oh how wonderful! I am eagerly waiting for the news!!

yes, complex emotions work out strangely i think. I also tend be quite emotional but have been much calmer with this. Family support was also invaluable in this. I am actually glad we told them but, having said that, we will probably wait till the first trimester is over if we are pregnant again.

pugsB · 13/02/2023 17:10

and hope you feel better soon @eleveneleven11 😊xx

TheCakeIsALie18 · 13/02/2023 21:48

@pugsB I'm so glad you're feeling alright. Similarly to yourself and @eleveneleven11 I was the same after my MC. Tears initially and then we just moved on as it's just one of those things that happens.

I'm all good here thank you. Ticking over quite nicely. Finally have a week off from appointments this week lol. Next one is 32 week scan next Wednesday. I can't believe how close it's getting now. 😳 my mum is coming down this weekend to take me shopping for some bits and pieces and my baby shower is next weekend, then I start mat leave on the 10th. Everything is happening so quickly!

Ooooh I can't wait to hear what you're having @eleveneleven11 ❤️❤️❤️

How is everyone else getting on? Xxx

Hey everyone- it's been a while. I've just been catching up on what's been going on.

@pugsB I'm so so sorry to hear about your MC. It sounds as though you and your body have coped amazingly and I hope your send-off has helped you keep feeling at peace about things ❤️

Congrats on your news @eleveneleven11 - exciting to hear! How are you feeling at 20 weeks?

I'm 26 weeks today - just plodding along really. Still feeling fine and got to hear our girl's heartbeat at the midwife appointment last week. Next appointment is at 28 weeks. Time is both so slow and so fast right now. I'd say it's nesting but it's a little more practical than that, but I'm slowly sorting out the house and tidying up each space so that we can get to decorating our smallest room soon 😊

pugsB · 15/02/2023 00:32

@Hannargh thanks! I am getting better everyday. i think i was expecting this at some level since things didn't seem perfect from the beginning. My family has also helped me heal--i talked to them non stop for 24 hours after ❤️

Glad to know all is well with you and your lil girl ❤️❤️

TheCakeIsALie18 · 22/02/2023 17:26

Hello my luvvies how you all doing?

32 weeks tomorrow. Had my 32 week growth scan today. All looking good and measuring on the 44th %tile and a guesstimate weight of 4lbs 3oz.

If he carries on growing at that speed we will have a nice little 7lb baby boy in a few weeks time ❤️❤️ xxx

@TheCakeIsALie18 ah that sounds perfect - hope he keeps on that growth scale as that sounds like a manageable birth weight to deal with!

I'm in a weird situation where I don't have much bump going on, but measured fine internally at my last appointment, so I feel like very few people recognise me as pregnant at 27 weeks. Trying to enjoy this sort of freedom as much as I can whilst I can!
Next appointment on Monday so hopefully all still good 🤞

eleveneleven11 · 23/02/2023 08:18

nearly there @TheCakeIsALie18 ! 7lb would be ideal!

@Hannargh are you still in jeans or are you bumpy enough that finding outfits is a little more restrictive? my bump is still pretty subtle although all my work colleagues did comment on Monday that i finally look a bit pregnant haha

I'm just about over this horrible cold I've had. it's been so brutal! almost 2 weeks of feeling bad.

TheCakeIsALie18 · 23/02/2023 20:13

@Hannargh enjoy not having a bump haha. My bump started growing daily (or at least it felt like it) from about 26 weeks. Until then I just looked a little bloated or like I had put on a few pounds lol. However, I'm not finding my bump overly restrictive now other than struggling with getting comfy to sleep haha. Still lifting super heavy and doing all my usual training thankfully.

Let us know how your next appointment goes! My next one is on Wednesday. Xxx

@eleveneleven11 oh no I'm sorry to hear you've not been well 😥 I had a horrible cold for 3 and a half weeks after Xmas. Came down with it on boxing day and was really ill until the new year. So much so, when I went in for a routine blood test at 28 weeks I had to have a second one done because my white blood cell count was high. They needed to make sure it was coming down after being ill. I hope everything is going well other than a nasty cold though ❤️❤️ xxx

Hi lovely people - thanks for checking in @TheCakeIsALie18 . All still seems to be good at the last appointment. Still measuring just above average for fundal height and getting more and more wiggles (actually woke me up last night!)
I've got one pair of jeans left now @eleveneleven11 but even they are feeling a bit snug. I'm slowly accepting that I may just have to wear leggings and tights from now on (putting my collection of stretchy snag tights to good use!)

Third trimester starts today woohoo 🙌
