Can’t believe we’re onto a second thread already. Hope this doesn’t put any newbies off, as I don’t think we’re even halfway through possible due dates yet. Anyone welcome to join in.

I wanted to start off by reassuring TheBirdintheCave that I have no nausea either and had none whatsoever all through my last pregnancy. Thinking of you and hoping your current fears turn out to be for nothing. xx

@Createcomet @somuchtolearnabout I am joining you in the exhausted camp. I am feeling it a lot worse this pregnancy than with my DS. BUT with DS first trimester fell onto start of lockdown, so I had the luxury of camping out on the sofa quite a lot as my job is not suitable for working from home. Now I have a boisterous 2 year old and a full time job, plus the usual housework etc. I. AM. SO. TIRED. Plus my 2 year old is going through that phase of only wanting mum for everything, I am getting quite resentful of my DH peacefully sitting on the sofa scrolling phone 🙈

UsernameNotPresent · 14/12/2022 21:25

Hi @sprollie11 ☺️ Welcome! We have the same due date as things stand.

DesertSnow · 14/12/2022 21:25

I'm so exhausted, I don't know how those of you with other DC are managing it! Having such an aversion to anything sweet, it's so weird for me 😂Nausea was a bit better today, yesterday was grim.

Finally got my booking appointment through - it's on Monday, same day as my early scan. I'll be 8w2d. Hoping that all is ok but in disbelief there could really be a baby in there with a heartbeat - feel half convinced there will be nothing there. Does anyone else relate?

Welcome and congrats to all the newcomers - @Blondbombsite another honeymoon baby over here! Got married last month too 😊Just lovely timing isn't it?

AnnieApple123 · 14/12/2022 21:28

@Alexandra07 Yes nice to find another! Thanks for the link. That’s exactly what happened in my last pregnancy which was just over three years ago - my dosage was increased immediately before testing. This time I managed to arrange the test and get the result so quickly that I guess it wasn’t necessary. It still makes me a bit nervous though. It will be interesting to see what my test from today comes back with. What were they saying five years ago? I’m a teacher too but am at home with my son full-time currently.

@Createcomet Talking of toddlers kicking you in the stomach, mine is terrible for this. It’s started to really worry me and I need to work on getting him to be more gentle. I keep having to remind myself that I’ve never actually heard of an unborn baby damaged in the womb by a rough sibling, so presumably it’s impossible.

Wow, that’s a lot of updates but finally caught up on them all!

I’m not going to get the covid booster, I’ve had all the others and didn’t get it with my son in the peak of it (just built a protective igloo for myself and hid from danger 🙈), so I’m not going to not get it for him then get it now. Think it’s just a personal choice. I will book the flu one though. Last time I had that before I was pregnant, not sure whether to wait til nearer 12 weeks to get it. Will maybe even just aim for after new year.

I feel like I’m on the dry land watching a massive tsunami coming towards me reading all these sicky comments 😂 I’m only 4 and a half weeks and didn’t feel sick at all, don’t think I even had symptoms, last time until 8 weeks. The last three days I’ve noticed how ridiculously hungry I’ve felt after breakfast. I’ve had to go and make myself some mid morning toast too! Today I went out for lunch and was absolutely starving. A wave of nausea came over me at one point. I already feel like this is going to be worse than #1 😂😭

AnnieApple123 · 14/12/2022 21:36

Welcome @sprollie11 I’m 7 weeks and think I’ll probably be moving into elasticated leggings shortly just for more comfort.

sprollie11 · 14/12/2022 21:38

Thanks @AnnieApple123 and @UsernameNotPresent! Smile

Yes I'm straight into leggings as soon as I get home from work...didn't think I'd feel this way at this point but am just going with it!

Nic2908 · 14/12/2022 21:39

Welcome to all the new lovely ladies. Sorry can’t name everyone but this thread is fast!!!

seems like we have lots of lovely people on board.

I got my 3+ today so although from my last period I should be 5+4 I think I am actually 5 weeks today. Self referred in to our local hospital, considered changing but the other one is an hour away so keeping where I am for now I think.

i have had enough of this cold weather, mainly because my nips are so sore that when I got into the cold it feels as though they are in a mouse trap!!

when are peoples early scans they must be coming up soon for some people?

BCxx · 14/12/2022 21:39

@Alexandra07 @AnnieApple123 another teacher here 🙋🏼‍♀️ To be honest I think I’m on the road out now. I very very nearly handed in my notice after mat leave with my son as I was helping my husband out with his business a lot but needed to go back as we wanted to move house. I’ve been absolutely miserable ever since, crying on the way home etc, was back on anxiety medication, the lot.. I was so stressed out with everything and ttc just wasn’t happening, AF was coming too soon every month making me look into all this stuff about stress hormones stopping progesterone from being able to rise and causing AF to appear. I was having the heaviest possible periods and actually thought at one point was my body trying to get pregnant while this was clearing it away every time? Long story short, got a sick line for stress, actually took a breath for the first time in months and on week 3 found out I was pregnant! 😅

Alexandra07 · 14/12/2022 21:48

@BCxx wow stress must have really affected you! It's not worth feeling so miserable, I hope you take the right decisions to improve the situation.

@AnnieApple123 they didn't really tell me anything 5 years ago, no extra medication before the blood tests showed I needed more. My understanding was that I would have to stay anyway at the hospital for 1-2 nights because I had hypothyroidism and had to check the baby. They didn't even tell me that...I ended up staying 7 days, but for a different reason. Did you have to stay at the hospital for extra tests after giving birth?

sally16 · 14/12/2022 22:34

In regards to rough toddlers.. DS is nearly 3 and being assessed for ASD etc so bless him he doesn't understand what's going on, I just keep saying oh no a baby!!! And rubbing my tummy then his..
But then he said tk his nursery teacher today when she was playing on the floor with them 'ohh baby' and rubbed her tummy so it's maybe working 😂

Rowanandremy · 14/12/2022 23:28

@Alexandra07 I think I'm glad I decided to tell everyone, mind you I've been so nauseous there's no way I could have hidden it. It's also a good job I took a liking to wearing maternity jeans from my first pregnancy because if I hadn't I'd need to get back in them. My wife every now and then does a double take at my stomach and goes 'woah you look pregnant', very flattering! 😂

I keep forgetting to say that I've got my first midwife's appointment on the 20th, 2 days before my scan. Luckily it's the same midwife as before and she's lovely, my sil had a bit of a job on with hers recently and that made me realise how fortunate I had been to not only like my midwife but to receive good advice from her.

Has anyone had any issues brushing their teeth? I can't for the life of me manage without gagging and nearly being sick so I'm having to try and remember to only attempt it on a morning when my stomachs empty.

Blondbombsite · 14/12/2022 23:59

Thanks and congratulations @DesertSnowI keep
pinching myself that it happened like that!

I will get the flu jab but not the covid booster.

I’m so bloated that I’m sure everyone already knows even though I’m only 4 weeks, thank god for baggy jumper dresses and the cold snap 😂

UsernameNotPresent · 15/12/2022 01:58

@AnnieApple123 I keep telling myself that the womb is not even past the public bone until 12 weeks of pregnancy, so baby is well protected from a rough sibling. Even with a bump, an average toddler attack should also be ok, but I guess I will need to do more swerving then 😬

Loudmouth1 · 15/12/2022 02:00

@BCxx sounds like a career change is possibly on the cards for you!! Its honestly such an amazing feeling getting out a job that makes you feel stressed and anxious I was a prison officer for 8 years before completely switching jobs and trained to be a chef!

UsernameNotPresent · 15/12/2022 02:02

I refuse to wear any maternity clothes yet 😂 A part of me is still a bit bitter that I won't get out of breastfeeding friendly clothes for a foreseeable 😬 I'd love to get dressed without having to think about how easy it would be to get boobs out. Of course it's a small price to pay!

UsernameNotPresent · 15/12/2022 02:03

@Loudmouth1 being a chef sounds stressful too 🙈 How do you manage with all the food smells right now?

Loudmouth1 · 15/12/2022 02:07

@UsernameNotPresent being a chef is stress free compared to being and PO 🤣 although at the minute I can't keep anything down due to the nausea and morning sickness the smells send me over the edge so have volunteered to do all the Christmas desserts as the smells not as bad as mince, garlic, blue cheese and truffle which overpower the kitchen!

UsernameNotPresent · 15/12/2022 02:13

Fair play to you, that can't be easy!

Olofsdaughter · 15/12/2022 07:31

Hello everyone!
I hope it’s ok to jump on this thread!

I’m due 12th of Aug with my second one, ( it’s basically 3 years ago on the day when I found out I was pregnant with my son!)

If you count from the day of my last period I’m due the 3rd of Aug, I’m pretty sure I ovulated super late though.

A little bit about me- I’m geriatric 😂 40, and I struggled with amenorrhea ( no periods) due to stress, diet and exercise ( I think). I had to stop training, put on weight and reduce stress to get my periods back. It was the same with my son.

I’ve got an early scan booked in for Saturday, then I’ll be 6 weeks, if I go with the super late ovulation date, so it may be a bit early to see a heartbeat, which would freak me out 😕 BUT I’m going away for Christmas and then right away with work so I would have to wait until mid January if I don’t get it done on Saturday.. I can’t wait that long..

As for symptoms, I feel a little bit queasy during the day ( may be psychosomatic 😅) and don’t want to drink a lot of coffee, which is very unlike me.
I also wake up between 3-5am most nights and can’t go back to sleep, I had the same with my son up until about 14 weeks, but I’m not sure if it’s because I worry about things or if it’s actually a pregnancy symptom.

I’m spending Christmas with my family and will tell them all then so I don’t have to worry about coming up with excuses for not drinking.
I’ve been to Christmas do’s but I drive so that’s been the excuse then, no one questions it because I live out in the sticks.

Looking forward to sharing experiences with you all along our journey 😊

TheBirdintheCave · 15/12/2022 08:02

Nausea's not as bad this morning which is a huge worry :(

In my pregnancy diary from my son I did have a few days where it got less and then worse again so fingers crossed it comes back but if not I think I'll be booking another scan for next week (hopefully) to confirm that it's died :(

Lalalul · 15/12/2022 08:29

Welcome @Olofsdaughter! good luck with the scan. I’ve also been waking up in the middle of the night which is not like me and can’t tell if it’s a symptom or generally lots of my mind!

@TheBirdintheCave im sorry you are worrying so much. If it helps my symptoms were full force a week ago, and now apart from slightly sore boobs I’m not noticing anything else. I’ve read lots of post and heard from friends that their symptoms came and went too, and they have had healthy babies. A scan sounds like a good idea to reassure you. Good luck and I hope you get good news

TheBirdintheCave · 15/12/2022 09:42

@Lalalul I've booked another private scan for the 30th when I'll be 9+3. I hope I make it that far but it doesn't seem likely. I really should probably leave this group. I'm just a mess and it's not helping anyone to have me around.

Blondbombsite · 15/12/2022 10:02

I was just wondering how different people have found pregnancy compared to when they had previous DC?

Even though it’s very early days I think I had more sickness last time and went off of certain foods (this time I can’t stop eating!) but I also had more time to think about it!

I know they say no two pregnancies are the same but I wondered if people found that to be true, or if they had a similar experience each time?
