Can’t believe we’re onto a second thread already. Hope this doesn’t put any newbies off, as I don’t think we’re even halfway through possible due dates yet. Anyone welcome to join in.

I wanted to start off by reassuring TheBirdintheCave that I have no nausea either and had none whatsoever all through my last pregnancy. Thinking of you and hoping your current fears turn out to be for nothing. xx

Hello,
Has anyone experienced implantation- period like symptoms? I have had bleeding/spotting all day today- how long can this last trying to stay off google, thanks all ❤️

ChloeN · 13/12/2022 16:51

@mum2b29 i haven’t had it this time but with my first pregnancy I had implantation bleeding really early on, it was only one wipe, then I think it was just after my period was due I had a couple of specks of brown on one day again! I’ve seen lots of people say it lasts a couple of days and can be a bit heavier xx

MsRT · 13/12/2022 16:58

Good luck today @TheBirdintheCave 🤍

mum2b29 · 13/12/2022 17:01

@ChloeN
Oh really right okay I'm trying to stay calm, but just pure worrier, hopefully give it 2 days if it doesn't stop I'll take it from there, thanks for the reassurance ✨
X

ChloeN · 13/12/2022 17:04

@mum2b29 I think it’s so normal to panic, but so many people have spotting at the start and it’s all okay! That sounds a good idea, is it quite light? X

TheBirdintheCave · 13/12/2022 17:06

My baby is still there with a heartbeat but I'm not happy with the measurements and feel like I'm looking at a slow failure here. I'll have to book yet another private scan next week if I can to test my theory.

I hate the way sonographers lie to you, like, I'm here because I'm worried, telling me it all looks great when I can clearly see that it's too small is really not helpful. I just want the truth.

At the private scan I was 6+2 but they measured me at 6+0 (though I don't see how they worked that out as the CRL was 3.6).

This time I'm 7+1 so five days later and she put me at 6+4 with a CRL of 7.1 which isn't even on the little scale in terms of length. It's down as <1%.

So, yes, it will likely all be over soon. No idea why she didn't just say that to me. Imagine if I had no idea about what all of these numbers mean and I went off reassured only to lose the baby in a week or two. Just crazy.

Sjw30 · 13/12/2022 17:07

@TheBirdintheCave I’m sorry you didn’t get the reassurance you were hoping for 💗

ChloeN · 13/12/2022 17:13

@TheBirdintheCave I really do hate the private scan clinics, they just look for the heartbeat I think rather than take the whole thing into consideration.
So is the CRL the length of the baby? Is that how they determine dates? Xx

TheBirdintheCave · 13/12/2022 17:27

@ChloeN Yeah they measure the crown to rump length and assess it on a curve of averages. Today's scan was EPU.

ChloeN · 13/12/2022 17:29

@TheBirdintheCave that surprises me tbh, I would of thought they would at least mention it’s slightly behind or do they just think that’s normal?

rnbwbb3 · 13/12/2022 17:31

Hi! Wanted to know yalls thoughts on my hcg:
dec 10 (15 dpo): 280
dec 13 (18 dpo): 753

anyone else have numbers like this?

TheBirdintheCave · 13/12/2022 17:35

@ChloeN She just went oh you could have implanted later 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ And the usual 'measurements are hard to take at this size'.

Recoba · 13/12/2022 17:37

@TheBirdintheCave sorry that you had bad news, and that it was handled badly - that must have made it so much worse for you. Looks like the EPU is just going off 50th centile dates from the CRL, but if you're confident on your dates then that won't work (particularly as you have the previous scan to compare to).

ChloeN · 13/12/2022 17:38

@TheBirdintheCave oh great how helpful is that🙄 so basically she’s then saying she can’t be sure on dates either then??

Createcomet · 13/12/2022 17:56

ChloeN · 13/12/2022 13:04

@Createcomet no no it’s not wrong. It’s just you were concerned your lines were faint, and the sensitivity on the digital test is really low because it’s an early one, so it’s likely to show up positive even if your hcg is low. So if I were you and concerned about my lines I would probably get a clearblue weeks indicator or do another line test to get some reassurance that they are progressing xx

Ah thanks for clarifying! I did another test. All fine. I think basically superdrugs ones were shit 🤣🤣🤣 how are they even allowed to make mediocre quality pregnancy tests?!

ChloeN · 13/12/2022 18:00

@Createcomet oh thank god lol🤣 that’s terrible though how can one be so faint and the other be so dark when they’re probably the same sensitivity!

Sjw30 · 13/12/2022 18:04

So pleased for you @Createcomet xx

Alexandra07 · 13/12/2022 18:12

@marleyandme your life will change in a way you can't imagine! And anyway it's a bit different for each one of us. Having a child allowed me to do things I wouldn't have otherwise, Christmas is more magical and made a lot of new mum friends I wouldn't have met if I didn't have a child. It did come with some restrictions, especially when they are young.

@Createcomet you can test positive for a few days after a mmc but I imagine you are still early in your pregnancy so if things didn't go well, you would have got your period. You haven't, you have a positive test, you are still pregnant!

@ArcEnCiel2022 sorry to hear about your losses. I had a miscarriage January 2022 and I understand how you feel. I am 41 so age is not on my side. I celebrate every day I wake up and I am pregnant! Trying to be positive.

@TheBirdintheCave It's a shame you didn't get the reassurance you wanted. The embryo is still so small, 1 mm difference in these early days can make a big difference, even more than a week, that's why dating scans are not done early. I hope next week's scan will be more reassuring.

mum2b29 · 13/12/2022 18:17

@ChloeN
It's not enough to be like a light flow but it's been consistent all day 🥺

I'm trying to think positive, I took a test in work and one this morning both positive but not as strong and clear as I would like them.

Done my first 2 positive tests with CB few weeks ago, then one Tesco this morning, then went and got two more CB and took one this afternoon.

All positive, just trying to staying positive! ❤️
X

LMM91x · 13/12/2022 18:43

@mum2b29 hiya - that’s all we can do!! Take each day as it comes xxx I feel like a complete headcase to be honest 🤣🤣🤣

Mulner88 · 13/12/2022 18:57

@TheBirdintheCave sorry you had a bad experience. It's so difficult as we put our trust in the professionals and hopefully her positivity was a good sign. I can't comment on the measurements because to be honest I haven't a clue about that and don't think I want to know either as it would stress me out and have me overthinking. I have my scan on Thursday and I'm not sure how I'll measure. According to my app I'm 7+2 but may be a week behind depending on ovulation/implantation. It's so frustrating and it's all out of our control. Try not to stress about it as that won't do you any good either (I know easier said than done). We just need to take it day by day at this tricky time in the pregnancy, and at least there was a heartbeat 💗

mum2b29 · 13/12/2022 19:18

@LMM91x
Thank you, I think im miscarriaging tbh it's red now and I'm having cramps but we'll see I'll give it until tmro if it doesn't stop I'll just need to accept it as it is and hopefully try again❤️
X

LMM91x · 13/12/2022 19:20

Oh i’m sorry @mum2b29 sending lots of love xxxx

ChloeN · 13/12/2022 19:21

@mum2b29 oh no😭 so sorry to hear that lovely, always worth a call to epu in the morning for some support xx

Createcomet · 13/12/2022 19:27

marleyandme · 13/12/2022 07:57

Hey, so I hope this isn't insensitive and I hope I've just woken up in a bad mood! But does anyone mourn their childless days already?
I do have a history of depression so I need to be aware that it doesn't turn into that but today I just feel so sad that I'm losing my perfect life to something that I've got no control over how it turns out.
Someone tell me I'm not alone!
I wish my DH could carry this baby and get all the hormonal and mood changes and he wants it more than me, I just don't feel excited about it today.

Just wanted to say hope you're doing okay. If this pregnancy goes okay it will be my second child. I adore my first, but I think most mums feel how you're feeling at the moment, at some point. Being pregnant is a big deal and it changes your life. being a mum is amazing but also daunting
