Can’t believe we’re onto a second thread already. Hope this doesn’t put any newbies off, as I don’t think we’re even halfway through possible due dates yet. Anyone welcome to join in.

I wanted to start off by reassuring TheBirdintheCave that I have no nausea either and had none whatsoever all through my last pregnancy. Thinking of you and hoping your current fears turn out to be for nothing. xx

@Sjw30 I’ve had the shooting vagina pain too🤣 not constant, just every now and then, it’s such a weird feeling isn’t it 😂

@Createcomet Ive never used the tests you have but I do see what you mean, you would probably expect a stronger line for 4 days late. I would be panicking too. I’d try not drink too much and use your digital on your next wee, they do say after missed period it doesn’t have to be fmu xx

I think that's my plan. I've got a bad feeling though 😭

Mega concerned I'm losing this pregnancy!

I've only tested once, and it was midday on Saturday. Got a positive but decided to wait a few days for a stronger line.

Went to the toilet at 6am this morning and then at 7 decided I probably should test again. Didn't drink anything in between or overnight so figured urine wouldn't be diluted.

But the line is quite weak! I've also woken up with a migraine which I don't usually get many of in pregnancy.

I've still got nausea, sickness, that horrible metallic taste, fatigue, hunger etc...

What do I do? 😭

I used the Superdrug one also, and I barely had a line after my missed period and it took absolutely ages to show the faint line I was panicking even though I had a strong line on FRER and positive 1-2 on digital. They aren't sensitive at all. I would use your CB for some reassurance.

ChloeN · 13/12/2022 08:48

@Createcomet it’s really hard isn’t it😔 good luck with your digital, hopefully the Superdrug is just a rubbish test xx

Thanks, that is a little reassuring I have to admit! I'm going to try the CB at the next opportunity I get. Trying to accept that whatever will be, will be....easier said than done 🤦‍♀️

@marleyandme heya, yeah, I feel you 😭
I still feel somewhat excited but I have definitely been feeling depressed for the past 4, maybe 5 days, and this has been a huge part of it.

We had a gig last week and I really enjoyed it, but I think it's set me off being sad and mourning the life we have now, which I love so much.

Also feel like my man wants this more than me just now and feeling quite guilty for feeling all this, because of course this is amazing and we're so lucky to have concieved so early, but you're definitely not alone. I was expecting it to take longer too, so I think the shock is getting to me a bit.

Sjw30 · 13/12/2022 09:21

@ChloeN im glad I’m not the only one 🫣

@Createcomet fingers crossed for you, definitely try another test xx

marleyandme · 13/12/2022 09:31

@Createcomet good luck! 🤞

@BoodifulGoose thank you, I'm feeling better for having put it out there. Reassuring to know I'm not the only one! It's everything you put in your message for me too, these hormones are sending me all over the place 😂I'm feeling more excited now than when I woke up this morning. Finding it difficult to talk myself out of bad moods at the moment even though I know they'll pass, the only thing that seems to help is just waiting until they do and trying not to wallow!
Need to keep reminding myself I'm incredibly lucky and just because I love my life now doesn't mean its going to be completely ruined a year from now, hopefully I'll love it then too just in a different way.
I think I find it difficult that my parents are hopelessly optimistic but then loads of MN is the stone cold truth of some of the negativities that might be in store for me and I'm trying to find a balance of not assuming it'll be horrendous nor endlessly happy but probably somewhere between the two.

Can any of you lovely people who have already been through this share you experience of how it changes things?

The clearblue says pregnant 🎉🎉

Do we think I can trust this? I'd be unlikely to get a pregnant result if I was about to miscarry, right?

Due August 2023 (Thread 2)
marleyandme · 13/12/2022 09:36

@Createcomet congrats! I'd trust that as I've heard the clear blue ones can sometimes not be very sensitive so difficult to get it to show pregnant despite Frer showing faint lines.
That looks good to me!

Sjw30 · 13/12/2022 09:38

@Createcomet I would trust it 🥰 maybe try a frer too?

justwingingitgirl · 13/12/2022 10:01

Hi everyone! Due 1st August 2023, first pregnancy! Emotions summed up as: excited, anxious, frightened and happy!

@marleyandme i had to message when I saw your post about your life now etc. I feel totally the same. I’m so excited about the future and this was all planned and is exciting, however, I love my life now; my family, friends, husband, dog, social life, WINE 😂 but I am ready for this, soon my friends will all be in the same boat and sometimes we just need to leap into the next chapter ❤️ my husband keeps reminding me, although I loved uni and I was sad for it to end for example, I wouldn’t go back! It was fun while it lasted but I was ready for the next thing. And this is just like that but even more exciting ❤️

I found out 3 weeks ago and definitely have my head around things now. It was our first month ttc (very lucky I know!!) which came as a real shock after expecting a long journey ahead!! I worry about every symptom or lack of symptom but I’m trying to tell myself that what will be will be and I am strong and can deal with whatever comes. Hoping for a healthy pregnancy and baby ❤️

also I hope no one judges me for this but I do already miss wine, brie and prosciutto 😂 my Saturday nights with Strictly Come Dancing look a bit different now with my peppermint tea!!!

TheBirdintheCave · 13/12/2022 10:04

@justwingingitgirl Welcome and congrats! I too miss brie as I always have it at Christmas time but it's worth missing out this year :)

sally16 · 13/12/2022 10:05

marleyandme · 13/12/2022 07:57

Hey, so I hope this isn't insensitive and I hope I've just woken up in a bad mood! But does anyone mourn their childless days already?
I do have a history of depression so I need to be aware that it doesn't turn into that but today I just feel so sad that I'm losing my perfect life to something that I've got no control over how it turns out.
Someone tell me I'm not alone!
I wish my DH could carry this baby and get all the hormonal and mood changes and he wants it more than me, I just don't feel excited about it today.

I do.. especially since we have no support other than nursey most of the time so it's a struggle to have any time as a couple!
Have opted for a twilight babysitter before so we could go for dinner and it was lovely! She was brilliant but made for an expensive night haha!

justwingingitgirl · 13/12/2022 10:05

@TheBirdintheCave TOTALLY agree! ❤️ the best reason ever to miss out on those things!

also I saw your post about your early scan. So pleased for you!

sally16 · 13/12/2022 10:06

Is anyone bloated.. I look about 4-5 months gone right now at 5 weeks with the bloat! It's a bit embarrassing that my work tunic is a bit stretched 🤣 I'm hoping it passes and deflates for a bit before the actual bump comes

TheBirdintheCave · 13/12/2022 10:14

@justwingingitgirl Thanks :) I have another one today at 3.30 so fingers crossed I see a good amount of growth.

@sally16 Mine comes and goes, I quite like it though haha.

Sjw30 · 13/12/2022 10:16

@sally16 me 🤣 dreading putting on my work uniform for the first time after a week off

marleyandme · 13/12/2022 10:17

@TheBirdintheCave fingers crossed for you today 🤞

Also with everyone on missing the cheese but I read I could have Stilton at least so I can enjoy some of the cheese board the DH has ordered as a Christmas treat for us 😋

@sally16 yes my bloat is coming and going, I find as the day progresses it gets worse but I look in the mirror and can't see much, my clothes just feel tight!

LMM91x · 13/12/2022 10:33

I think you can have cooked camembert too right ???? Please don’t crush my christmas dreams 🤣🤣🤣 i guess could cook brie and eat that also??? I heard most supermarket cheese is pasterized now so it’s probably conpletely fine?? Thoughts! Xxx

Sjw30 · 13/12/2022 10:37

@LMM91x Yea, I absolutely devoured some McDonald’s cheese melt dippers the other night 😂

TheBirdintheCave · 13/12/2022 10:44

@LMM91x From the NHS website:

What to avoid
any other foods made from unpasteurised milk, such as soft ripened goats' cheese
pasteurised or unpasteurised mould-ripened soft cheeses with a white coating on the outside, such as Brie, Camembert and chèvre (unless cooked until steaming hot)
pasteurised or unpasteurised soft blue cheeses, such as Danish blue, Gorgonzola and Roquefort (unless cooked until steaming hot)
unpasteurised cows' milk, goats' milk, sheep's milk or cream

Seems as long as you cook it so long you can call it fondue then you can eat it :)

LMM91x · 13/12/2022 10:49

@Sjw30 OMG NEED CHEESE MELTS IMMEDIATELY

girlshelpxx · 13/12/2022 10:50

what's everyone's symptoms like? i’m 5+3 and feel so normal! i’m waiting to feel something

LMM91x · 13/12/2022 10:52

@girlshelpxx yepp pretty much the same! 5+4 and the real odd wave of nausea (was sick yday morning but not today) feel a bit sicky but i have to look for it! Boobs hurt but yeah nothing too exciting 🤣
