Can’t believe we’re onto a second thread already. Hope this doesn’t put any newbies off, as I don’t think we’re even halfway through possible due dates yet. Anyone welcome to join in.

I wanted to start off by reassuring TheBirdintheCave that I have no nausea either and had none whatsoever all through my last pregnancy. Thinking of you and hoping your current fears turn out to be for nothing. xx

@somuchtolearnabout Yes, ‘summer born’ includes anyone with a birthday from April 1st to August 31st. So I’m planning to defer my DS who is mid-May.

Hi all, been a bit quiet last few days as, after worrying about not having many symptoms, they've arrived in force. Really lucky to not have actually been sick yet, but the constant nausea is something else. And the only thing I fancy eating is crisps, which I can usually take or leave! Maybe it's the salt I'm after? I'm 7 weeks 2 days now.

Congrats to all the newbies! Particular shout out to @BCxx - so excited that you've joined from the other thread! 😁

So sorry to read your update @WonderfulSummer, wishing you all the best and be gentle with yourself.

I think some people were discussing running... I run 5-6K 3 times a week, but am not going to while it's snowy out. Normally I never miss a run, but putting my body first right now and body is saying nope!

Told my mum at the weekend - the first person we've told. It's a relief because now I can go running to her asking what food I could possibly eat with this nausea. 😅

Hope everyone is keeping well - I see a FB group has popped up but I'm too nervous to join it yet!

LBF2020 · 12/12/2022 19:51

@WonderfulSummer so sorry to hear that.

PumpkinEverything · 12/12/2022 20:07

No pressure to join @DesertSnow 😊 on my last one some didn’t join until they’d had their 12 week scan.

i don’t think it’s fair to cap the members (I’ve seen other birth groups do that 😬) and I don’t see it getting to be hundreds of members or anything, so we’ll be happy to accept people whenever they feel up to joining!

BoodifulGoose · 12/12/2022 20:08

@WonderfulSummer So sorry to hear. I hope you're as okay as you can be 💙

LS888 · 12/12/2022 20:10

I’ve just requested to join the fb group. Good idea 😊 need somewhere to vent every now and then!

Chocolotandtea · 12/12/2022 20:12

@WonderfulSummer so sorry to hear this. Be kind to yourself xxx

Sjw30 · 12/12/2022 21:52

Are we all comfortable enough with tmi questions yet 🤣. Well here goes anyway..

I’ve been having some sharp twinges this evening, after some frantic googling seems it could be my body preparing which is reassuring. But I’ve been having a fair few bouts of shooting pain that feels as if it goes straight up into my vagina into my cervix. Is this the famous lightening crotch? And if so, is it ok having this so early on? Google seems divided and usually happens later on.

Nic2908 · 12/12/2022 21:57

@Sjw30 oh god lightning crotch I had forgotten all about that delight!! Or Fanny daggers as my delightful colleges called them. I guess things have to start stretch from now don’t they even though you don’t show yet? Not 100% sure tbh. I think they only started about mid way with my last. Take you by surprise don’t they.

Nic2908 · 12/12/2022 21:58

Ladies, private scan at 7+2 that should be ok shouldn’t it? Or do you think I should be patient and wait another week?

BCxx · 12/12/2022 22:01

Okay there’s been so many updates since this morning 🙈

@BusyBushBaby so excited reading your update! That is very early on so every chance they could both be okay 🤞🏼 How are you feeling about it possibly being twins? Was that an internal scan? I’ve always had such a strong feeling I’ll have twins this time, I think I’d secretly love to!

BCxx · 12/12/2022 22:02

@Nic2908 I’m going for the exact same timing on 4th January. I could go waited until 8th but I feel I’m doing well not to have dived at the appointment on 31st December so 7 weeks is good enough for me 😂 I was 6 and a half with my son and saw all they needed to see so I’m viewing this as a late one this time!

Delightful term 🤣. Surprise yes but it’s not extremely uncomfortable just noticeable 🤔

BCxx · 12/12/2022 22:06

@DesertSnow aww thank you ☺️ Good to see you’re still running. I run a lot but didn’t run at all last time I was pregnant, I was too scared then as baby got bigger I felt like it wouldn’t do my pelvic floor any favours 😂 this time I kind of feel like I do want to continue, even just walk run until 12 weeks or something but haven’t done any yet, just getting over my bleeding calming down and not wanting to do anything to start anything off again!

BCxx · 12/12/2022 22:15

@somuchtolearnabout aw how lovely! Most of my friends who have had similar age gaps haven’t bought a double but then I think if I only had kids and no dog, horses etc then there probably wouldn’t be a huge need for it but I feel like I might use it for more the safety/convenience than the walking factor, it’s just so hard to tell! We both do running and use our running buggy a lot but I’m wondering if we should maybe just get a double one of those, otherwise we’ll never be able to go a run together again and that’s also handy for off road walks and much lighter to push than a normal pram. I think I’ll hang off until nearer the summer to see what he’s like by then and maybe keep an eye out for second hand ones in the meantime. Worse case scenario it can always go back on Facebook marketplace!

DesertSnow · 12/12/2022 22:20

@PumpkinEverything Thank you! Think I might wait till I've (hopefully) had a positive scan. Got one next Monday which suddenly feels very close!

@Nic2908 I would have thought 7w2d should be fine to see a heartbeat - I'm waiting till 8w2d personally but it is a personal choice! Also laughing at fanny daggers 😂(as a term, not a reality!)

@BCxx Yeah, totally hear you on the running thing. I do worry every time that I might see blood but the advice is that you can carry on with what you were doing before. So I'm just listening to my body - undoubtedly taking it a bit easier than my usual pace.

BCxx · 12/12/2022 23:25

@DesertSnow also think that will definitely throw people off the scent 😂 I thought that after getting married when my runs were still showing up on Strava.. ‘see, I’m not pregnant!’

BCxx · 12/12/2022 23:29

Okay all the chat of scans has caused me to rush in and book one for 31st 😬 Planned to wait until 7 weeks but il be 6 weeks 5 days. I think I was 6+4 last time. I hunted through every appointment in every clinic to find one open either then or at the very start of January but everyone’s obviously on holiday. I’ve ended up booking a really small clinic run by one lady who sounds lovely and has amazing reviews, sounds like a way more personal experience than the big one we went to last time. I went from not being pregnant to thinking AF had arrived to suddenly having a scan booked in 2 and a half weeks, what is happening?! 😂

mum2b29 · 13/12/2022 07:28

So, woken up to brownish like after period spotting, is this normal ?
How long should it last ?
Sorry for all the questions, first pregnancy.

Mega concerned I'm losing this pregnancy!

I've only tested once, and it was midday on Saturday. Got a positive but decided to wait a few days for a stronger line.

Went to the toilet at 6am this morning and then at 7 decided I probably should test again. Didn't drink anything in between or overnight so figured urine wouldn't be diluted.

But the line is quite weak! I've also woken up with a migraine which I don't usually get many of in pregnancy.

I've still got nausea, sickness, that horrible metallic taste, fatigue, hunger etc...

What do I do? 😭

LMM91x · 13/12/2022 07:41

@Createcomet hey x . What test is that? How many days are you past missed period?? There are lots of things that effect the line etc . and a lot of people have stronger lines in the afternoon etc not always FMU.

i’ve also had headaches really early like before I knew about the pregnancy so I don’t think that’s a sign of anything sinister.

do you have any other tests?? I would wait until later today and test again xxx

This is a super drug one. I think I'm 4 days past my missed period.

The only tests I've got left are 2 clear blue digitals. Not sure whether to do one later today or first thing tomorrow. Dreading it. I had a chemical pregnancy before my first, I'm worried its happening again 😭

BCxx · 13/12/2022 07:55

@mum2b29 how many weeks are you? I just had the same thing and I think it was implantation bleeding that took a while to come away, it was heavier than I thought implantation would be but my lines progressed after it so I think everything’s okay

marleyandme · 13/12/2022 07:57

Hey, so I hope this isn't insensitive and I hope I've just woken up in a bad mood! But does anyone mourn their childless days already?
I do have a history of depression so I need to be aware that it doesn't turn into that but today I just feel so sad that I'm losing my perfect life to something that I've got no control over how it turns out.
Someone tell me I'm not alone!
I wish my DH could carry this baby and get all the hormonal and mood changes and he wants it more than me, I just don't feel excited about it today.

mum2b29 · 13/12/2022 08:08

@BCxx
Hi, thanks for getting back to me,
I'm 5wks +6
I'm praying it's implantation everything is just a worry soon as your pregnant 🥺
