Can’t believe we’re onto a second thread already. Hope this doesn’t put any newbies off, as I don’t think we’re even halfway through possible due dates yet. Anyone welcome to join in.

I wanted to start off by reassuring TheBirdintheCave that I have no nausea either and had none whatsoever all through my last pregnancy. Thinking of you and hoping your current fears turn out to be for nothing. xx

@ChloeN I'm hoping I would be entitled to have an early scan and a few around the 20 week mark with NHS. Although any staff I dealt with in my most recent pregnancy seemed very relaxed and non-bothered so I'm not sure. So nerve wrecking, I can't even fathom looking at a screen showing a scan again
However, I have to think onwards and upwards... don't want to bring the mood of the group down speaking about losses so thinking positively from now 🙂

sally16 · 11/12/2022 21:43

@BoodifulGoose @Sjw30 if you buy them direct from aus it's massively cheaper! Like more than 50% cheaper 👀😝
Or my friend owns ohbambino and always restocks bonds 💙

Snoo120190 · 11/12/2022 21:43

Yes thank you @PumpkinEverything for making the Facebook group, this thread moves so fast I can't keep up so the FB group will def be easier to track!

Sjw30 · 11/12/2022 21:45

@sally16 don’t tempt me 👀

@Snoo120190 keeping everything crossed for you xx

BoodifulGoose · 11/12/2022 21:46

Saving all this helpful advice to spend my cash 😂 thank you @sally16 !! 😊

ChloeN · 11/12/2022 21:49

@Snoo120190 yes surely you’d be high risk? Hopefully they’ll be better this time round and more supportive!

Miraclesdohappen88 · 11/12/2022 21:51

Anyone else troubled by cramps and trapped wind, mine gets quite bad invthe evening! I've read about avoiding peppermint tea in the first trimester.

QueenBee22 · 11/12/2022 22:11

Thanks @PumpkinEverything

I will be offered an early scan with the fertility clinic around 8 weeks which could be 9 weeks with Christmas holidays. I must ring them this week and book it in.

How are you doing?

Snoo120190 · 11/12/2022 22:21

@Miraclesdohappen88 yes happens me badly early in first trimester, I do suffer a bit with IBS so was linking that. Oh what have you heard about peppermint tea in pregnancy? I drink it all the time 🙈

PumpkinEverything · 11/12/2022 22:30

I don’t think friends will see you’ve joined @Alexandra07 unless they’re in the group too 😊 people can search and find it, but you won’t see anything unless you’re in it. I think I have the description as a cupcake as I didn’t want to put any words in 😂

@Snoo120190 it's really getting me down I've been troubled with it for about a week now in the evenings the cramps are uncomfortable but then it passes when I can get the wind released 🙈. I just read it should be avoided in 1st trimester as it can promote menstruation! Not sure how reliable the internet it. Think it's generally safe thereafter in moderation. I would love a cup right now! It's such a nerve-wracking time for everyone especially in the early days.

Mulner88 · 11/12/2022 22:50

Hi everyone, haven't been on in a few days! I said I would take a couple days off and try to forget I'm pregnant as it was consuming my mind 24/7, as you can guess, I didn't forget I was at all 😂 there's a lot to catch up on but have had a good read 😊 I actually have started to feel nauseous during the week on and off, nothing severe though, I would say it's quite mild so far.
Welcome to all the new people who have got their BFP's 😍
I love the idea of having an August baby. I'm an August baby myself and I must say that I was the youngest in the year all the way through school as I'm late August but it didn't have any bad effects and felt I was at more or less the same level as kids who were Sep/Oct babies. Plus summer birthday parties are a bonus 🎉 only thing I'm dreading as I said before is being heavily pregnant in the summer 😂
Thank you @PumpkinEverything for setting up the FB group, will defo join 😊

BCxx · 11/12/2022 22:51

We won’t have to buy too much this time, going to wait and see whether it’s a boy or girl but I do have quite a lot of neutral stuff anyway. I won’t need the big things this time! We were in John Lewis today and I did do a little veer over to the pram section to casually look at doubles 🙈 There will be an almost exactly 2 year gap but I think we will get a double because we walk a lot with the dog. My little boy is getting a balance bike for Christmas but it wouldn’t be safe for me to be out myself with the dog, pram and him whizzing about on his bike so that will need to be kept for when his dad is there and they can be firmly strapped in when it’s me myself 😂

@MsRT happy birthday to him for tomorrow! I take it you will get a double pram?

@Desperatelyboredhousewife Last time we told my parents before the scan because we had a dinner that it was really obvious I wasn’t drinking it. Well I thought it was obvious but they were actually so shocked so maybe it wasn’t 😂 His we told after the early scan. I think it’s going to end up being the same again because we have a big family dinner next weekend, we’re getting the train so I can’t even pretend I’m driving 🙈 Going to tell them in the house before we go though. I think il just do some sort of ‘big brother’ thing on my little boy. It feels way too early to be doing that though but it’s a bit boring to just say it 😂 have you decided when you’ll tell people?

TheBirdintheCave · 11/12/2022 23:06

@BCxx We were hoping we'd have two under two (didn't happen in the end as it took us a long time to get pregnant) so we bought a pram that can convert to a double when I was pregnant with our son. I think all we need to buy is the attachment bit for the second seat unless it's already in the loft somewhere. 🤔

Nic2908 · 11/12/2022 23:11

@PumpkinEverything im the last person on the planet I think with no Facebook. Never been on it am all, please don’t let that stop you all thou. Just keep popping on here to say hello!!

BCxx · 11/12/2022 23:12

@TheBirdintheCave aw that’s a shame it took a while! I was kicking myself that I hadn’t bought one you can add a second seat to. I think when I was pregnant I was just so focused on that baby that I didn’t even contemplate another may exist in the future 😂 it’s so clever now how they can convert. Ive ended up with three buggies - running/off-road, normal and a travel one that stays in the car. He’s also got a trike with a handle, it’s too much 🙈 I’d like to streamline it all this time so maybe get something like the baby jogger city mini gt double or just an off road one and that could serve all purposes then when he stops going in it we can just sell it and go back to the single prams. Considering even buying the pram second hand and getting a new carrycot for the baby since itl be quite short term. Prams are a fortune!

Amme18 · 12/12/2022 07:15

Reassurance for anybody concerned about joining for privacy - only if your friends happen to also be pregnant and on this thread will they know! 🥰

tttc2022 · 12/12/2022 07:19

Hi all! Can I join please? I'm 7+1, I have a 15 month DD so this will be number 2. I sadly had a MMC at 8 weeks in September, feel very lucky to have fallen again so quickly but am incredibly anxious and the days just seem to be dragging!

Jadeelx · 12/12/2022 07:31

@Snoo120190 welcome to the group, so sorry to hear of your losses, that much be so hard on you. I really hope this one faces no issues xxx

sally16 · 12/12/2022 09:07

I've joined the fb group but will stay here until I've had Atleast one scan! Hoping for a sneaky one next week when I'll be 6 weeks 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

sally16 · 12/12/2022 09:09

Im on a mission to drink as much as possible today.. still panty watching for any blood etc so Atleast I won't need to wonder if I'm dehydrated or it's something 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

ChloeN · 12/12/2022 09:16

@tttc2022 its such an anxious time isn’t it, was yours picked up at an early scan? Mine was at 8 weeks too xx

tttc2022 · 12/12/2022 09:34

@ChloeN I had a scan at 6 and a half weeks which showed a heartbeat but was measuring 5 days behind, I then started bleeding at 8 weeks so went for another scan which showed a really slow heartbeat and no growth, was so devastating. So sorry for your loss too, it's very hard. I'm trying to remind myself this is a new egg and sperm so hopefully will be okay.

Desperatelyboredhousewife · 12/12/2022 09:48

@BCxx We're also planning to tell parents and siblings at Christmas - we'll tell our parents Christmas eve and siblings Christmas day I think! I also feel nervous about telling them early but everything crossed our scan goes well and that will reassure us. No idea how to tell them, I think I'm too nervous about the scan to plan it yet!

Sjw30 · 12/12/2022 09:51

@Desperatelyboredhousewife we are planning on doing the same ☺️ all being well with our early scan
