Can’t believe we’re onto a second thread already. Hope this doesn’t put any newbies off, as I don’t think we’re even halfway through possible due dates yet. Anyone welcome to join in.

I wanted to start off by reassuring TheBirdintheCave that I have no nausea either and had none whatsoever all through my last pregnancy. Thinking of you and hoping your current fears turn out to be for nothing. xx

@LMM91x awww that’s a lovely article you linked, that’s cheered me up! If August is good enough for Obama I’m sure it’s good enough for whatever I’m cooking up 😅.

This is the article I was reading about baths in pregnancy: flo.health/pregnancy/pregnancy-health/staying-healthy/can-pregnant-women-take-baths

To be honest my usual baths do make me light heading and dizzy with the heat, so I should definitely tone it down, but a tepid bath sounds so awful!

Amme18 · 11/12/2022 19:07

@CityKity I had the same guilt with my first being due in August! Like oh when all his friends turn 18 and are going out he won’t be able to, his birthday will be in the summer holidays, he’ll be the youngest in his class etc. Honestly I think you could have a September baby who then at 4 isn’t quite ready for school cause it’s their personality not their birth month! My LB is 3 and a half and I don’t worry for sending him to school next September (except for the absolute heartbreak that my baby is starting school 😭), he’s been in childcare from 7 months and I’d say he’s as ready as all his friends ☺️

ChloeN · 11/12/2022 19:12

@CityKity I still have a bath everyday, I test it with my elbow lol and if I’d put a baby in it I’ll get in it, I can’t see any harm in doing that!

@PumpkinEverything im 100% booking my early scan for after Christmas! Mine will be at over 10 weeks but still better than waiting till 12/13 weeks🤣

LMM91x · 11/12/2022 19:12

@Amme18 I had lots of friends born in August - my september ID got shared around numerous times passed out the back of the smoking area🤣🤣🤣 i agree it’s the child - many aren’t reAdy for school no matter what month they were born and vice versa!💕. I also couldn’t stop for a month TTC to ‘avoid’ an august baby that would be a little mucb I think 🤣

ChloeN · 11/12/2022 19:14

@LMM91x im a September baby too and I still remember my first day of primary school being my birthday 🤣 I’m glad my baby will have their birthday in the summer holidays every year 🥳

MsRT · 11/12/2022 19:14

my little boy turns one tomorrow (still can’t believe I’m having another already 🤣) and I’ve been cooking party food today and oh my gosh the sickness and aversions has started 😷

I NEVER want to see a mini cheese pizza again!!!

MsRT · 11/12/2022 19:15

@ChloeN hadnt thought of the baby having their birthday in the school holidays. I’m a teacher so that’s a fab thought!

LMM91x · 11/12/2022 19:21

@ChloeN omg yes same!! Think of all the fun stuff you can do on summer holidays for birthdays 🥹🥹🥹 xx

Createcomet · 11/12/2022 19:22

Has anyone else got lower back pain? I didn't have this with my first. The sickness isn't as bad as with my first, but the back pain is awful.

Also, I don't suppose anyone here is a runner? I only run like 5k 2 or 3 times a week, but already I feel too tired to go 😭 I've no idea whether to push myself and go or just try and use my horrible exercise bike for now 😔

Desperatelyboredhousewife · 11/12/2022 19:38

Thank you @LMM91x we’re both due 11th August then 🤞 it’s such a worrying but exciting time, having to stop Googling and testing for my own peace of mind!

Thank you @BCxx good luck for your scan! Are you planning on telling anyone after the scan or waiting until 12 weeks?

Nic2908 · 11/12/2022 19:41

@heand2022 ahh Orrell been there a few times. How nice is this!!

@Createcomet i know how you feel, I can’t wait to give me son (2 next week) a sibling but I’m at a really good place in my career to start going up. I haven’t even told my manager yet… I’m bloody petrified as I know it’s the absolute worst timing for her. I’ve decided I’m going to have an early scan at about 8 weeks (first week jan) and tell her after that I think.

Sjw30 · 11/12/2022 19:45

BCxx · 11/12/2022 18:49

Also no pressure ladies but I was on the August 2021 thread with my little boy, we went through the whole thing together then when it came to August it was the most exciting thing ever as we went down the list of dates and each person would emerge with a baby and their story! The chat went on well into the following year and I now have some of them on social media. Can’t quite believe I’m now on this one ☺️🤯

This sounds nice! I’d love to be apart of something like this.

Nic2908 · 11/12/2022 19:51

@CityKity my birthday is 29th August. I was always always the youngest and it always bloody rained on my birthday. My sons birthday is December and I would take an august one any day. I’m now a ward manager, and although I possibly took slightly more time to get things than other people, I have a steady career that’s more than most of the people in my year have achieved. So I would really bother about school years, it’s what you do after that counts as that’s when you get to follow your own desires. Sorry for the soppy post, but obviously I must be passionate for august birthdays!!!

I also love a scaulding bath. I read that you shouldn’t let your body temperature get above 40 for more than 30 mins. So I take my temperate whilst I’m in the bath to stay safe!! Well safe as can be whilst enjoying my one luxury as I don’t drink or smoke.

Nic2908 · 11/12/2022 19:53

@BCxx the date things sounds like the most lovely idea!

CityKity · 11/12/2022 19:54

You’re right a summer birthday does sound like a lot of fun, and makes for very easy picnic parties! I guess there’s zero point worrying about this now!

@Createcomet I run fairly consistently 5-10km 3x a week and have been up and down with tiredness. I had a rubbish and slow 5km last week but then a gorgeous icy 10km yesterday, which started out rubbish but got a lot better over time. Sometimes I feel absolutely shattered and don’t go out, but I almost always feel better when I do. I don’t track distance/speed so leave it up to gut feel to see how fast/far I feel like running that day. Don’t be hard on yourself, especially if you’re feeling exhausted, but don’t be scared to push it as well, the worst that happens is that you stop and just have a walk instead!

ellie0605 · 11/12/2022 19:56

When I had my daughter, we had a Facebook group of people from our Netmums thread... I think there were around 90 of us and it was so nice getting to know everyone and seeing all the baby announcements! 3 years later there are still 60ish of us in the group and we still do regular updates!

I can completely relate. It's very daunting isn't it? My Husband and I are in the process of buying a company, and I'm learning to run it all. There's nobody to cover my mat leave and we're due to complete in Jan. I'm terrified right now 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Cinnamon03 · 11/12/2022 20:00

Hi all 👋🏻

I’m new to MN and tentatively joining this group. Found out recently I’m pregnant with my 2nd after trying for a few months and I’ve been a complete ball of anxiety since worrying over every little thing!

I’m 5 weeks 3 days today based on LMP. Last week I had the tiniest streak of red blood just once on two separate days but not enough to massively worry. Yesterday I had a bit more red on the tissue after wiping which soon turned to brown and got lighter throughout the day until it tailed off. It was only when wiping and it’s fully stopped. When I got my BFP I had a few mild symptoms but they’ve all gradually disappeared over this past week! Going out of my mind with worry but phoning the GP in the morning and going to request at scan at the EPU. I’ve already got a private early scan booked for the 22nd when I’ll be 7 weeks but I now feel a bit silly for booking that in when I’ve just got a bad feeling.

Please tell me I’m being irrational and this is all normal 😫 my first pregnancy was all straightforward with no worries like this.

Thanks! That's really encouraging! Well done on your 10k! I've decided I'm going to try and do at least one run this week 😊 not sure when yet though 🤣 not going in the snow 🤣

QueenBee22 · 11/12/2022 20:07

Hi everyone hoping I can join.

Due mid to late August. Hard to know a definite due date as my cycles are very long and irregular so will probably go off measurement at the first scan.

We have been having fertility investigations and treatment since June so I am delighted to be posting here as I didn't think I ever would.

No major symptoms just yet, bar frequent urination after drinking caffeine (which I am weaning off now) and heartburn after eating foods with strong flavours.

jollydollyirl · 11/12/2022 20:14

@Createcomet @CityKity would be a casual runner myself but feel like I couldn't even contemplate running with how heavy my boobs are 😂😂

Hahaha! I'm lucky I don't have that problem....but my back and hip pain is pretty bad right now. Didn't have this with my first so hoping it's not a bad sign! Didn't have it with the pregnancies I lost either so god knows what's going on 🤦‍♀️

Asher19992 · 11/12/2022 20:32

Hi All,

Just has my positive, believe I am around 4-5 weeks. This is my first time. Can anyone advise what to do now? Do I wait a while or contact GP now?

PumpkinEverything · 11/12/2022 20:38

I always forget that outside of NI your school year is different. I myself am an august baby and I was one of the oldest in my class! July/August babies don’t start school until they’re 5. My sister on the other hand was 26th June and was the youngest in the whole school when she started!

@Asher19992 congrats! Some trusts let you do a self referral, worth looking it up to see 😊 I rang my GP last time and the receptionist got me sorted with a booking appointment at around 7 weeks. So I’ll probably do the same again this time!

Congrats @QueenBee22 😊 are you having an early scan to check on dates or are you waiting for the 12 week one?

somuchtolearnabout · 11/12/2022 20:39

Just jumping in to say

Yes to baths

No to running

Hope everyone's had a lovely weekend!

(I also have a scan on 22nd when I'll be 7w exactly, seems like there's a few of us now!)
