Can’t believe we’re onto a second thread already. Hope this doesn’t put any newbies off, as I don’t think we’re even halfway through possible due dates yet. Anyone welcome to join in.

I wanted to start off by reassuring TheBirdintheCave that I have no nausea either and had none whatsoever all through my last pregnancy. Thinking of you and hoping your current fears turn out to be for nothing. xx

Headaches are really stopping me in my tracks for the past few days! I’m taking paracetamol but cautious of taking too many. On a positive note, I ignored my attempts at stopping testing however it was a dye stealer so I was quite relieved. Feel like I can finally stop now!

@Isitfridayyet202 Welcome!

ChloeN · 09/12/2022 20:58

@Sjw30 lol it’s hard to resist 🤣 I used up my last 2 tests today just so I can’t do anymore

My boyfriend took me out for a nice dinner tonight, I got home and sicked it all up🤦🏻‍♀️ what a waste of money lol🤣

Sjw30 · 09/12/2022 21:00

@ChloeN oh no! Typical 🤣

TheBirdintheCave · 09/12/2022 21:07

@Sjw30 I literally had to use them all up or else I would have been tempted to keep going 😂

@ChloeN Oh dear, I'm sorry you were sick :(

LMM91x · 09/12/2022 21:09

@ChloeN omg no way 🤣🤣 what a bloody waste !! Hope you’re feeling ok though!

@Sjw30 eeeek a dye stealer!! How exciting!!!!!!

Sjw30 · 09/12/2022 21:10

@TheBirdintheCave Im glad I’m not the only one 🤣

Miraclesdohappen88 · 09/12/2022 21:13

@Isitfridayyet202 congratulations and welcome on board! ✨

ChloeN · 09/12/2022 21:13

@TheBirdintheCave @LMM91x I feel fine now I’ve been sick but I’m now just put off 🤣 we’re back at the same place on Christmas Eve with his parents who we’re not telling so that’ll be fun😑

PumpkinEverything · 09/12/2022 21:33

Aw no @ChloeN hopefully your sickness eases before then!

WonderfulSummer · 10/12/2022 06:24

Slightly panicking here - tested positive on Wednesday with what was a fairly decent line on a FRER for 12 (I think) DPO. Just tested again now at 15DPO and the line isn’t any darker. So nervous this isn’t going to work out.

WonderfulSummer · 10/12/2022 06:51

Sorry meant to add a photo to the previous post. I’m not seeing any change in 4 days. Is that normal?

Alpacabag22 · 10/12/2022 06:53

@WonderfulSummer dont know of this helps but...I didn't see a huge change from my 14dpo to 16dpo FRER tests. 16dpo was a shade darker when I looked at a pic on my phone. But I think I'd spent so much time looking at pregnancy test pics by then I was maybe expecting the infamous dye stealer and it wasn't so noticeable a change.

What helped ease my mind a bit was comparing 12, 14, 16dpo next to each other and then I could really see the line had got darker a longer period.

I totally understand the worry, I still have it in the back of my mind everyday. But there are lots of factors that can affect line darkness.

Sending you positive vibes ✨

WonderfulSummer · 10/12/2022 06:59

@Alpacabag22 Thank you, that is helpful and reassuring to read. Hard not to get in your head about everything! Appreciate the positive vibes!

Amme18 · 10/12/2022 07:11

@WonderfulSummer i’d never heard of the dye stealer until this thread - it’s hard not to compare when other people are saying they’ve got one, and it seemed to take me ages to get one! my line was fairly light for a few days without much difference! I was taking the easy at home multiple times a day to check it was real 🤣

AnnieApple123 · 10/12/2022 08:07

@WonderfulSummer I had a similar scenario which is why I had to stop testing.

On the last thread I posted these pics from my last pregnancy where I had HCG testing. Between the first and my last one, HCG went from 94 to 292 (so trebled). Yet the difference in the lines isn’t that great. Hope that helps.

@Amme18 and @AnnieApple123 Thanks so much for both taking the time to reply, so useful to read your experiences! Going to stop thinking about it for the weekend and just go with the flow as best as possible and fingers crossed all is well ☺️

PumpkinEverything · 10/12/2022 09:55

Something to remember as well is that some people are getting darker tests/dye stealers because of testing later. Lots of people have tested and got a positive before their missed period, whereas there are people like me who have tested for the first time 4/5 days after it 😊

PumpkinEverything · 10/12/2022 09:56

I have hmm’d and ha’d that much about booking an early scan before Christmas there aren’t many slots left 🙈 we need my mum to take our daughter as she’s not allowed to come so we’re also having to check her schedule too.

ChloeN · 10/12/2022 10:00

@PumpkinEverything I didn’t realise they didn’t allow children in, I thought that was the point of private ones so you could bring people🙈

AnnieApple123 · 10/12/2022 10:06

@PumpkinEverything I’m also umming and ahhing. Had one booked for Monday but have just moved it to Thursday (wasn’t sure if they’d let me without charging a cancellation fee but they’ve been fine). This is really just procrastination and I’m still not sure about it.

I always feel like earlier scans are only ever going to be a good thing, provided you're far enough along to be able to see a heartbeat. If everything is fine then great, it eases my mind a little bit. If things aren't ok, I'd rather know sooner than later. The idea of something being wrong and me not knowing is terrifying, the sooner I know the sooner I can begin to deal with it.

AnnieApple123 · 10/12/2022 10:27

This is one reason I’ve moved it @somuchtolearnabout . I’d like the best chance of seeing a heartbeat. I’ve thought about waiting another week but that would be awfully close to Xmas of anything were to be wrong (both from the point of view of putting a cloud over festivities and also medical services being less available if needed).

OP posts:
PumpkinEverything · 10/12/2022 10:27

@ChloeN some companies allow them, but the one we’re looking at (window to the womb) doesn’t. They’re the cheapest option (still £70 tho 😬) and who we used last time for all our private scans, so I’d prefer to go somewhere I know!

@AnnieApple123 def procrastination here too 🙈 but I know I don’t want to wait until 12 weeks either haha

somuchtolearnabout · 10/12/2022 11:00

@AnnieApple123 Very sensible and makes total sense. I've had scans at 7 weeks with both previous pregnancies and the heartbeat was visible so I've done the same this time. I'll be 7w exactly on 22nd dec which is when we've booked it. Pretty close to Xmas but I feel shameless positive!

LMM91x · 10/12/2022 11:11

@somuchtolearnabout i have my scan 22nd too! I’ll be 6w6d so basically 7 and feeling positive 🤞 feels like time is going so slowly though 🤣
