I just liked having proper outfits on DS. Sleepsuits are cute but you can't beat little baby shorts and t-shirts/rompers in the summer

Happy new year @Dreamingof3 🥳

Can you believe tomorrow starts the year that we'll be having our babies!?

Agree about the crawling. Dresses are a pain from experience with a girl!
My MIL advised me not to buy dresses any bigger than 6-9m because of crawling.
Took my daughter til 15 months to crawl in the end 🤦‍♀️ so I actually wasted a lot of months of no dresses.
Some super cute dungarees out there though, that's what I replaced dresses with for a bit! Frugi is a brand that does the cutest floral (and other print) dungarees!
I also found dresses a bit annoying when she was a newborn/younger baby because they'd always ride up round her nappy when I was holding her/carrying her, just thought they always seemed a bit 'messy' looking.

Sleepsuits for the first couple of months are brill but I do LOVE the outfits too ❤️❤️❤️

Room4onemore · 31/12/2022 22:18

Next do some lovely leggings and top sets for girls and boys, I’ve got so many in my basket lol

Room4onemore · 31/12/2022 22:27

Pregnancy insomnia, anyone wake up and not be able to get back to sleep for hours? I wake between 3-4 and can never get back to sleep until about 7am hen up an hour later

alotoftutus · 31/12/2022 22:29

Boots have loads of half price baby wear at the moment. I just bought a load of basics. I tend to stick to sleepsuits & cardigans for the first month, 1-3 months adding in leggings and tops and outfits from 3 months. Knitted cardigans are my favourite thing in the world so I plan to try and fit in as many of those as possible before it gets warm lol.

alotoftutus · 31/12/2022 22:30

@Room4onemore yes I usually wake up about 3 and can't get back to sleep till gone 5. My kiddies are up from 6.30/7 😩 it's painful

ToffeeEl · 31/12/2022 23:11

@mrshenny my little one is the same, I was told they'll check again by my next midwife appointment and begin to try the rotations or whatever it was called.

Bit nervous about it, but explains why I've been so uncomfortable!

Yep, it’s the absolute worst. I can’t remember a night when I haven’t woken about 3 and then can’t get back to sleep. I’ve given up trying now and just get as much work done as I can.

Blocklynn · 01/01/2023 07:20

Happy New Year everyone, can’t believe this year we get to meet our babies 🥰

Yes - I just can’t sleep full stop at the moment. Such bad insomnia even tho I’m so tired 🥴 this pregnancy has been so tough. My first one was a breeze xx

Perexi · 01/01/2023 10:33

I don't have insomnia but serious hip pain when sleeping, I just spend the night alternating on each side 😂 everyone keeps saying sleep as much as possible which now feels impossible!

TeddyBeans · 01/01/2023 11:31

I've been waking up every night for months. Luckily 99% of the time I've been able to get back to sleep but it's starting to take longer to do so. I'm sure it won't be long until I'm in the midst of you insomnia lot. I'm really sorry you're there already, it's a shitty place to be

Dreamingof3 · 01/01/2023 11:42

Also in the no sleep club! My hips are so bad I have to turn over every hour or so but I fully wake up when I do as it's like manoeuvring a beached whale 🐳

Had such bad lower back pain and Braxton Hicks yesterday and today...so I've just done all my housework, makes sense right?! I think I've woken up thinking that it's actually not that long until the baby could arrive and I don't feel ready!

TeddyBeans · 01/01/2023 11:44

@Dreamingof3 sounds like you're starting to nest a bit!

Room4onemore · 01/01/2023 14:35

We are in a council property and we are on the waiting list to move, we are currently number 1 on a house, so I have everything crossed we could be moving in a month or so. I would be ready for the new baby in a new house. We are currently in a 4 bed which I am really grateful for but we found out we have 3 mine shaft openings underneath our house and I’m really not happy living here, that doesn’t help with my sleeping.

Mrs2022 · 01/01/2023 16:55

Happy new year everyone!! We will be holding our babies in no time 💕💙

TeddyBeans · 01/01/2023 17:00

@Room4onemore gosh that sounds terrifying! I'd be constantly worrying! Fingers crossed the move goes smoothly for you!

Me too!
Mine have all lived in sleepsuits for a good 6months with lovely knitted cardigans/Jumpers where needed.
I was bought this beautiful knitted cardigan from our local knit shop last week- added photo.

@Cats23 oooh what a cute cardi! I love it 🥰

I’ve just gone into Boots and bought loads now, thank you! Some brilliant deals especially on cardigans and sleep suits 😊

havanamama · 01/01/2023 20:16

I’m sick and been struggling with the increased heart rate due to that. My resting heart rate is literally 94!!!
I was getting dressed this morning and that set me to 148!
I will speak with the midwife about it as it’s exhausting to have a permanently racing heart.

havanamama · 01/01/2023 20:16

On a positive note also can’t believe in 6 weeks and 4 days I’ll be full term 🥰

AK93 · 01/01/2023 21:27

Baby shower question - is anyone having one and if so will you have any involvement in planning?

Feel like with my hormones I'm going to cry about feeling bad for the fact the bits my mum's bought (family said they wanted to do one) aren't quite what I was thinking when I thought about having one. I don't want to offend her and have said what I did think of if I was doing it all myself (a more natural theme) but it's too late to not have a mismatched theme or have to go with something I'm not keen on and I know it's silly but if I'd have been asked I would have said before she bought anything. I guess this being my first baby and not knowing if I'll have more (would like to but there's no guarantee) I feel like I would rather be more involved in it in terms of theme and I've got myself upset that I don't really like it when I should just appreciate it. 🙈

TeddyBeans · 01/01/2023 21:37

@AK93 I didn't have a baby shower last time and don't intend to have one this time but I can see the appeal. It's nice to have a get together. The joyous thing about being pregnant is you can literally just blame it on the hormones. I'd go into it with low expectations - it's not what you wanted but they've made an effort. And if you have a little cry later about it then that's okay!
