It still feels very early but I’m taking a leap of faith and starting a thread here.

Just found out yesterday that I’m due at the very start of August.

Anybody else yet?

@Mulner88 ah yes could be!!

@AnnieApple123 i would do but when I had my last one they were awful, obviously the circumstances were horrible but they just did not deal with it very well at all so I’m so put off😭 I’ll have to go somewhere else but even then I’m not keen!

MsRT · 23/11/2022 21:11

congratulations and welcome @Gracie87 @xylophone ❤️❤️

lots to catch up on! I’ve bit the bullet and submitted my info for the booking appointment. I’m 4 weeks 2 days (I think 🤣) but I know I’ll forget if I don’t do it!

how are we all feeling? I’m so surprised by the lack of sore boobs! X

AnnieApple123 · 23/11/2022 21:19

@ChloeN Maybe consider somewhere like ‘Window to the Womb’ that

specialises in private scans? There seem to be loads of them now.

It feels weird to say but yay for feeling sick @ChloeN 😂Hope it's not too bad.

@Mulner88 I really think every pregnancy is so different, it's hard to compare. I do wish I felt more symptoms but I'm sure there are people with lots of symptoms wishing they would ease off! I have heard nausea mostly kicks in at 6 weeks, but everyone's different. Definitely not crazy for testing - think I'll do another cheapie in the morning - I didn't do one today. Glad you managed to get your early scan sorted. Exciting!

@MsRT Go you, getting the booking appointment underway! Congrats! I'm still too nervous. If nothing happens by Saturday, I'll probably self refer then as I will be 5 weeks. Eek!

ChloeN · 23/11/2022 21:29

@AnnieApple123 it was window to the womb tjay I went too! They didnt even refer me to the hospital when they told me they would 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think I just got a bad one tbh!

DesertSnow · 23/11/2022 21:39

@ChloeN sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with them. Do you mind me asking which branch? I was looking at them for an 8 week scan if I make it that far...

ChloeN · 23/11/2022 21:50

@DesertSnow i do think it’s just a bad one, I know lots of people who’ve been whose babies had been fine and they said they found the whole experience really cold and not very nice, which isn’t great if you’re paying! It was the Peterborough one xx

MsRT · 23/11/2022 21:51

@ChloeN that’s so bad!

MsRT · 23/11/2022 21:52

@ChloeN I went to the Peterborough branch too with my last pregnancy and I agree about it being cold. That’s such a shame xx

DesertSnow · 23/11/2022 21:58

@ChloeN ah ok thanks! That wouldn't be my local as I'm in London. That's so sad though, sounds like some people are in the wrong jobs! Cold is the last thing they should be 😔 So sorry you went through that and they weren't supportive or caring 💖

AnnieApple123 · 23/11/2022 21:58

@ChloeN Oh that’s really disappointing to hear. I was thinking they sounded like somewhere which would surely offer a calm, relaxed experience. So sorry that wasn’t how it was for you.

ChloeN · 23/11/2022 22:01

@MsRT ah that’s so funny we must live close by!

@DesertSnow hopefully your one will be much nicer! It just felt really odd throughout not what I was expecting at all! Xx

@AnnieApple123 me too that’s why I chose them! You think with such a big name they’d be better but they just didn’t seem to care, I bet they must deliver bad news all the time but still 🙄

MsRT · 23/11/2022 22:12

@ChloeN we must do! I live quite close to the WTTW branch actually. So sorry that they handled it in such a poor manner. That’s the last thing you would’ve needed/wanted xx

TheBirdintheCave · 23/11/2022 23:41

Our plan with the scans is to have the reassurance one at eight weeks offered by our EPU in their miscarriage leaflets for subsequent pregnancies, then pay for a private one at 10 weeks and then have the official NHS one at12 weeks-ish.

@ChloeN Sorry you had a bad time at Window to the Womb. I went to the Tolworth/Surbiton branch when I was pregnant with my son and they were a bit... clinical there. Not sure what private scanning places we have in West Sussex :/

Mulner88 · 24/11/2022 07:19

@ChloeN sorry you had that experience 😢 they are probably so used to giving bad news, but that's no excuse...

@TheBirdintheCave I was also thinking of getting a private scan done in between the two scans. I just feel like I need constant reassurance.

ChloeN · 24/11/2022 07:24

@MsRT have you had much about ultrasound direct? Think that would be the next one I’d go too, if not it’d be Norwich or Cambridge!

@TheBirdintheCave maybe that’s just the way they are then, I’d heard other people say the sonographer was visibly upset giving the news, mine was not 🤦🏻‍♀️

@Mulner88 i think it was the set up as well, they basically gave me bad news, a scan photo and then rushed us out into a waiting room full of people who can obviously work out what’s just happened!

DesertSnow · 24/11/2022 08:51

Morning, how is everyone today? Any symptoms?

@Mulner88 I guess the problem with scans is they can only show you how things are right at that moment, but totally, think I will need the reassurance if I get that far. Your plan sounds good @TheBirdintheCave.

Ladies I'm a bit worried - I tested today at 16DPO. While the line is darker than it was at 14DPO I really thought it would be darker than it is by now. Photo below - top 12DPO, middle 14DPO, bottom 16DPO. All One Step tests, FMU. Grateful for any thoughts and sorry for the panicking! This is such an anxious time.

Due August 2023?
Mulner88 · 24/11/2022 09:02

Morning @DesertSnow , yeh you are so right, the scans just show how things are there and then! If only we could have scans everyday 😂
I feel that with the cheapie tests, they don't tend to get as dark. I did a cheapie yesterday and although it was darker, it wasn't as dark as my FRER that I took the day before, so I wouldn't worry.

Not much symptoms yet. Just sore boobs 🙈 I feel I need more symptoms to keep my anxiety at bay

TheBirdintheCave · 24/11/2022 09:05

@DesertSnow I think that looks good! :) It looks like it's darkening at a consistent rate.

I'm ok today, just more of the same. The retching is back and my boobs are still sore so I'm fairly pleased with that 😂

ChloeN · 24/11/2022 09:10

@DesertSnow looks like good progression! I’ve never used those tests before so I can’t compare! The control line is mega dark on the bottom one though which was like my easy@home yesterday which I think makes it look lighter than it is!

Im terrible and tested again today lol, I’m officially stopping until next week because I got 2-3 on the weeks indicator so going to leave it now and use my last one then. I’ve only got 2 cheapies left but might not bother using those either!

TheBirdintheCave · 24/11/2022 09:24

@ChloeN Great that you got the 2-3 weeks! :D

AnnieApple123 · 24/11/2022 10:03

@DesertSnow If it helps, I had HCG testing in my last pregnancy. The first test here shows a level of 97. By the third it had risen to 292 (yes, trebled which made me a bit nervous of multiples at the time). Yet the difference doesn’t look that great and #2 and #3 look virtually identical.

@AnnieApple123 that's really reassuring to know 😊

DesertSnow · 24/11/2022 10:44

Thank you for being so kind and reassuring @AnnieApple123 @TheBirdintheCave @Mulner88 @ChloeN. Now the test has dried it's really quite light. So I'm not feeling very positive to be honest. I guess it's just a waiting game now, and maybe I should stop testing! DH is telling me to stop obsessing but easier said than done!

Yay for getting 2-3 weeks @ChloeN!

@TheBirdintheCave doesn't sound pleasant but symptoms are a good sign!

I'm with you @Mulner88, bring on the symptoms!
