It still feels very early but I’m taking a leap of faith and starting a thread here.

Just found out yesterday that I’m due at the very start of August.

Anybody else yet?

Hi Everyone! Joining the thread after a lovely lady on my BFP post recommended it! I’m excited and nervous as I tested early (13dpo) and really hope this BFP stays that way. Told my husband but need to talk to others in the same boat!

Congratulations to you all, looking forward to this journey :)

LMM91x · 04/12/2022 19:10

Told my mum today… what a relief that is. Just someone to help me navigate the next few weeks before early scan 🤞🤞🤞🤞 she was super excited and assured me that what will be will be and I have to just try and enjoy it (after I burst into tears about how anxious I am about it all!😭). Going to tell my best friend this week then Ithink that’s it until the scan 💕💕💕

MsRT · 04/12/2022 19:11

Good luck tomorrow @Mulner88 🤍

congrats and welcome! @Lalalul x

Lalalul · 04/12/2022 19:42

Thank @MsRT - congratulations to you too!!

LMM91x · 04/12/2022 19:49

quick question - has anyone / everyone seen their GP? mine seemed pretty uninterested and feels like I should have more of a response 🤣🤣

Mulner88 · 04/12/2022 19:52

@LMM91x no I just self referred to my local maternity hospital. I remember last time around I called the GP surgery as didn't know what to do and the admin person told me to self-refer. I don't think they are too interested in pregnancies 😂

ChloeN · 04/12/2022 19:55

@LMM91x I had a drs appt booked anyway so I mentioned it then and they just gave me the number for the midwife, I don’t think you need to see the gp xx

sally16 · 04/12/2022 19:57

@LMM91x my Gp said it's pointless them trying to do anything with pregnant women as the maternity services just shout at them that they are always wrong 😂 I went with a sickness bug as I wanted anti sickness and they she just phoned MAU and made me an appointment with them 🤣 I need to phone my GP practice tomorrow to get registered with the midwife again though, hoping I get the same community one as last time 🤞🏻

MsRT · 04/12/2022 19:59

@Lalalul i did a self referral online with my local maternity trust x

MsRT · 04/12/2022 20:00

Defo meant @LMM91x sorry 🤣

CityKity · 04/12/2022 20:04

@Mulner88 eeeek good luck for the early scan tomorrow!!

@DesertSnow I haven’t changed my exercise routine yet. Although my last run was noticeably slower and tougher than usual, I could be reading too much into it, as did some great long runs before getting the BFP. I usually run 3x, do a hiit class, boxing class, and one slow easy weights session. I’d like to keep them all up for sanity sake, but may drop the hiit session. I think I’ll be a bit more flexible in general and just miss sessions when I’m not feeling up to it.
Discharge wise, I don’t think I have more than usual, but I have quite a bit in normal times.

PumpkinEverything · 04/12/2022 20:35

@AnnieApple123 im in Northern Ireland! Temperatures are really dropping this week by the looks of it 🥶

good luck for tomorrow @Mulner88 can’t wait to hear all about it 😁

I think I’m going to book my scan for 8 or 9 weeks. I realise as well I also need to ask my mum to mind my daughter as she’s not allowed to come with us according to the website 🙈 so her availability is also going to be a deciding factor as to when we go!

i haven’t rang my GP yet as I feel like it’s taking a while to hit me that I need to do that 🙈 also it’s a nightmare to speak to someone! My booking appointment was over the phone last time and it was a 5 min phone call. Then I didn’t see or speak to anyone until 12 weeks when I had my scan and blood taken.

buttercupbee · 04/12/2022 20:42

@DesertSnow great to see a familiar face on here 😊 that’s a good idea about saying we’re trying. Obviously I’m delighted to have got a bfp but it’s not the best time of year to hide it 😂

@Lalalul welcome! It’s great to talk to others in the same boat

@Mulner88 best of luck for tomorrow 🥰

@LMM91x it must be lovely to have your mum’s support. I almost blurted it out to mine earlier when she asked what wine to get for Christmas Day 🙈 but agreed with DH we will wait until after our scan which is 2 weeks today all being well!

AnnieApple123 · 04/12/2022 20:43

@DesertSnow I’m also knackered and heading to bed now at just gone 8:30pm to fall straight to sleep.

I normally try to do some Pilates most days. I have some specific pregnancy Pilates videos and was planning to switch to them on getting a positive test. However I’ve been so nervous with all the cramping, etc. that I’m afraid I haven’t so far…. Other than that I tend just to do lots of walking although it’s turned so cold now that I’ve not even been doing much of that.

@Chocolotandtea I’ve previously had cramping, nausea and heartburn. In fact I felt really quite unwell around the time of implantation and when my period would have been due. That’s all settled down now though and been replaced with just exhaustion, sore ‘nibbles’ (my toddler’s word) and heightened sense of smell. I’m trying not to worry as my last pregnancy was like this too and I was very fortunate not to suffer much with symptoms at all beyond about 5 1/2 weeks.

@buttercupbee oh yes it feels a relief!! She’s been there done that got all the t shirts (one mc, natural birth, one forceps and one c secrion!) she just said breathe, which I’ve been stirggling to not google every single twang. Have to let things run their course, so hard!! I imagine not knowing the first trimester and continuing as normal would be anazing (obviously if you subconsciously stopped drinking🤣).

this is exciting 2 weeks!!! Mine is 18 days and counting 💕💕💕 how far along will you be again?xxxxx i’ll be 6w6d so hoping heartbeat if all ok (should be ok timing wise right assuming everything is ok?)xxxx

AnnieApple123 · 04/12/2022 20:45

All the best for your scan @Mulner88

TheBirdintheCave · 04/12/2022 20:46

@PumpkinEverything Five minutes?? I got my email through this evening and I've been told mine will last 1.5 hours! 😱 And the appointment for the bloods is separate! 😂

TheBirdintheCave · 04/12/2022 20:47

@PumpkinEverything Oh last time! Sorry just saw that. Mine was over speakerphone last time too but it was still about half an hour.

AnnieApple123 · 04/12/2022 20:56

Welcome @Lalalul

@LMM91x I take thyroxine and the dosage requirements tend to increase in pregnancy. I have to have blood tests every 4 weeks as soon as a pregnancy is confirmed so I obviously went to the doctor right away. I can’t believe my second test is only just over a week away now…. Sounds like the advice for most people is just to self-refer to their chosen hospital now though?

AnnieApple123 · 04/12/2022 20:58

@PumpkinEverything Temps are dropping here in England too. Stay warm everyone!

buttercupbee · 04/12/2022 21:04

@LMM91x I bet she know exactly what to say then 😊 I’m exactly the same, I’ve had really sore boobs so far but they’re less sore today so obviously now I’m worried 🙈 also had some cramps today but trying to ignore it. So hard not to worry though isn’t it!

I will be 7+5 based on LMP but I’m pretty sure I ovulated late this cycle so I think I’ll probably be about a week less than that, similar to you. It said they should see a heartbeat from 6 weeks so fingers crossed 🤞🏼💖 xxx

UsernameNotPresent · 04/12/2022 21:10

@DesertSnow re exercise, I am carrying on as usual until it's too much. I hiked up a mountain this weekend, was more out of breath climbing uphill but otherwise ok. I hear you on the exhaustion front. I am just so tired putting in a full days work, looking after toddler and running a house, I just want to fall asleep at 8pm 😂 plus I can't really drink as much coffee as before, and one cup a day is not really cutting it.
@Mulner88 good luck for the scan!

LMM91x · 04/12/2022 21:16

@buttercupbee I’ve had cramps or some
sort of niggly pain since I tested positive - I also think i’m hyper aware of it now when probably normally I wouldn’t blink an eye?! Trying not to let my mind run away with me - what will be will be eh 💕

eee yes we are close , gosh i’m juss trying to think one hurdle at a time and the next one is 18 days and nothing I do will change the outcome 🤞🙏. My mum did ask me how many tests i’d done… and admittedly i’ve done a LOT and I said why how many did you do and she said one each time maybe two !!! 🤣🤣 I swear it was a simpler time pre bloody google!!!!

LMM91x · 04/12/2022 21:21

@AnnieApple123 hey! In a way that’s kind of nice having 4 weekly intervals !!! Hope all goes well! Do they do bloods or anything every time? xxx

PumpkinEverything · 04/12/2022 21:25

Oh wow @TheBirdintheCave that’s ages! I don’t know if it’s just because I didn’t have any medical history so not much to say 😂 but yeah, not long. I think the 12 week one was a good bit longer tho. I remember being on the phone for quite a while. I wonder do they note down much about previous pregnancies/births?

ive just checked and I’ve actually written a good bit of it down on my phone for anyone that’s maybe interested -

I was asked:
Address
DOB
LMP

Which hospital I wanted to deliver in

Any social work in the family
Mental health issues
Smoker
Medication I’m on
Whether I’m taking my vitamins
Any history of diabetes in the family
Any history of clotting in the family

She then said I’ll get a pregnancy book at the scan appointment that they’d normally give me now if I’d been able to meet in person.
Also mentioned the flu vaccine, and that it’ll probably be brought up at the scan appointment
