It still feels very early but I’m taking a leap of faith and starting a thread here.

Just found out yesterday that I’m due at the very start of August.

Anybody else yet?

This is my first time hearing about dye stealers! So I will look out for that too!

heand2022 · 30/11/2022 15:05

@PumpkinEverything so jealous of your dye stealer! I didn't know about them until this time around either. Had really good progression in the colour and darkness of the lines so far so taking that as a small win. Just wish you could scan now to see things that guarantee you've got an A ok pregnancy - which obviously isn't going to happen anytime soon 🙃

PumpkinEverything · 30/11/2022 15:39

I knew about them last time, but didn’t get a dye stealer with my daughter. Or I stopped testing before I got one, I’m not sure which 🙈 I get a bit addicted to testing too! Although I can’t believe I spent £20 getting 2 FRER sent out and 3 CB 🤢 so expensive!

also wish a scan could tell me now that everything was okay! But also I really want to know how far along I am 🙈

ChloeN · 30/11/2022 15:49

@PumpkinEverything I wondered the same about the 3+ im 5 weeks tomorrow too! Last time I did it I go one when I was 5 weeks 3 days but never tested before then so wouldn’t know if it was earlier!xx

AnnieApple123 · 30/11/2022 16:01

These are the HCG levels you need for the weeks indicator. There’s quite a bit of variation in when those levels are reached though, which is how they manage to cause so much anxiety.

Due August 2023?

Hmm... if that's the case I'll definitely wait until 6 weeks as I only just started getting dye stealers on the Easy at Home tests and I'm pretty sure their threshold is 1000miu/ml.

BoodifulGoose · 30/11/2022 16:13

Testing and reading about dye stealers and other people testing every day is 100% impacting my anxiety in a bad way (absolutely no blame at all!) and making me feel like I should test every day, then feeling sick when the line isn't as dark as I expected/as others.

Realistically I can't know anything until my scan (as mmc's can still have you testing positive for weeks), I am lucky enough to be able to book a private one at 8 weeks, so I think I'm going to have to bow out of the conversation until then for the sake of my mental health. 💙

Hope everyone has a healthy and happy pregnancy until then!

TheBirdintheCave · 30/11/2022 16:14

Sorry, Goose :( Hope to see you back soon!

BoodifulGoose · 30/11/2022 16:18

@TheBirdintheCave no apologies necessary! Thank you me too! Hope you have a lovely time at the markets 🥰

AnnieApple123 · 30/11/2022 16:24

I hear you @BoodifulGoose . Very honest of you to say so. There have been moments when I’ve felt like this too. I’m definitely not going to be testing again now until my scan on December 12th. Am here by PM if you ever want an ear.

Hope to see you back again once we get onto some merrier topics like baby prep. xx

PumpkinEverything · 30/11/2022 16:50

Hope to see you back again goose! I had a MMC before with my first pregnancy so I’m ever so aware that these mean nothing! It almost feels like we do them just because there’s nothing else to do whilst waiting for early scans. I’m still not sure when to book one for. With my first my cycles were all over the place. My LMP had me at 9 weeks, my tracking told me I was 7, and the scan said I was 6+2. There was a heartbeat but they were quite quiet at the scan which made me feel uneasy, and like something was wrong that they weren’t telling me. I then went for my ‘12 week’ scan (which I knew wouldn’t be right anyway), and I was only 9 weeks in my own head, but the baby had stopped growing around 8 😔 so I don’t know whether to go for 8 weeks the week of Christmas, or wait until the inbetween stage before New Years and get it at 9. Such a hard decision!

TheBirdintheCave · 30/11/2022 18:21

@PumpkinEverything For me I test daily because my MMC was very obvious from the start even though it took another six weeks to be diagnosed. My lines took forever to progress so I always knew something was wrong. So far this pregnancy has been nothing like that one. It could all still go wrong though, you're right :(

Journeywithme23 · 30/11/2022 18:27

Hello 😁 I’m 5 weeks pregnant, I haven’t had a check up yet but I think I’ll be due early August ☺️ Was all excited and thrilled until starting to feel really ‘unwell’ like hot and tired and refluxy.. is it possible to feel like this so early on?
Is there anyway you can bring your midwife appointment sooner? Mine is the week of Christmas I feel a bit scared/lost having no one to check in with (which I know is probably silly as it’s all likely normal!)

PumpkinEverything · 30/11/2022 19:01

Hi @Journeywithme23 i think it’s normal! I’ve been really tired the last few weeks. I had one case of heartburn with my daughter in the first few weeks and then it went away and was relentless from about 25 weeks until the moment she was born. It was the absolute worst! I felt like I could be sick acid.

I don’t think you can bring your midwife appointment forward, but you could book an early scan?

DesertSnow · 30/11/2022 19:03

Hi all, hope everyone's ok. I'm 5w4d and feeling much less tired today, which worries me a bit - still don't feel pregnant. These days are crawling by. A couple of people have mentioned getting a lot of discharge - I did initially, but not since - only really after exercise. Hope that's not a bad sign. Also no sign of nausea, just the feeling of fullness. Also crying at anything to do with babies. Though that's not necessarily new for me!

Welcome and congrats to @ew9018 @user1201 @PumpkinEverything @ImpatienceOfASaint @Alpacabag22 @Journeywithme23. Gosh the thread is getting busy!

@BoodifulGoose totally get you needing to step away, hope to see you back soon. And I love the 'bun in the oven' way you shared the news 😂

@somuchtolearnabout I'm sorry you had such a hard night. I have no advice, but as others have said, solidarity. These early days are so scary and I keep convincing myself this will go wrong. Conceiving our baby on our honeymoon just feels too good to be true so I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

@AnnieApple123 Those vitamins look fine. I'm also on B6 - was taking it while ttc as short luteal phase and I've heard it can help with nausea and I don't really want to stop it (yet) in case it's what's keeping me pregnant.

Mulner88 · 30/11/2022 19:42

@PumpkinEverything I've had really bad heartburn this week and got a prescription which thankfully eased it. How did you manage the heartburn after 25 weeks? If I'm lucky enough to get that far, it's something I'm really dreading as even this week, I was sick with it, can't even imagine what it would be like further on...

CityKity · 30/11/2022 19:53

Tentatively stepping into this thread after being 4 days late for AF and finally being brave enough to do a FRER this evening. Immediate BFP, which is much stronger that the control line. GULP.
I’m in utter shock - this was cycle 2 of going with the flow, ahead of a more serious effort planned for the new year. We only DTD on CD8 and CD21 so I’m baffled!
I know I should be over the moon but until I tell DH and have his excitement rub off on my I’m in utter panic/anxious mode - thinking a hundred miles an hour on how/when to tell work, and what this means for my promotion (not good I bet!), and how on earth to tell my best friend who has been TTC much longer.
Sorry for the brain dump - I’m on an emotional rollercoaster right now and DH is away 😱!

PeachCottonTree · 30/11/2022 20:05

Hello everyone! Still catching up with the thread, about half way! Found out this morning I’m pregnant after realising my period was late. Had a MC at 8 weeks in June so more shocked than excited at the moment.

I tested a lot the last time and the digital tests made me paranoid the last time as they stuck at 2-3 weeks for 3 weeks so not sure I’m going to use them this time.

Going by the NHS calculator and my apps I’ll be 5 weeks tomorrow and due on August 4th ☺️

PumpkinEverything · 30/11/2022 20:06

@Mulner88 so much Gaviscon! 😂 I had a box of the tablets in my handbag, downstairs and beside the bed, and I had to take them every night before I went to sleep And sometimes in the middle of the night. As soon as she was born it was completely gone which was crazy! You can get a prescription if it’s really really bad but I was reluctant and just powered on through as I don’t really like taking things.

@DesertSnow i had pretty much no symptoms with my daughter, and only really had my bad heartburn from just before the third trimester. I always remember thinking and telling people how I understood now how people can go 6 months without knowing they’re pregnant! Try not to worry, but I know it’s hard. Once this first trimester is over the time zips by, but the start is always soooo slow! At least we have Christmas to look forward to :)

Welcome @CityKity and congrats! When are you telling your husband? I just told mine a few hours ago and burst into tears 🙈🙈 I’m happy but so completely overwhelmed and shocked by it and my brain is also going a mile a minute trying to think about it all. I’m only back to work 3 weeks from maternity and kept telling people I wouldn’t be coming back pregnant haha

CityKity · 30/11/2022 20:19

@PumpkinEverything thanks for the welcome! I realise now in my shock and panic I didn’t really introduce myself 😅.
I’m going to test again first thing tomorrow to be triple sure and tell DH tomorrow or friday. It feels odd not telling him immediately but I think I need some time to process first!
I turned 34 last week and this is the first and MN tracker has me at 4 weeks. I’m so overwhelmed even typing this, my brain is in overdrive thinking of everything that can now go wrong and thinking back to the endless glasses of wine consumed over the last month!

AnnieApple123 · 30/11/2022 20:22

Welcome @CityKity and @PeachCottonTree

I’m afraid I’m off to bed now at not quite 8:30 as I’m knackered.

OP posts:
PumpkinEverything · 30/11/2022 20:49

We’re very similar @CityKity haha. I didn’t tell my husband until today as I was waiting on my clear blue and first response tests arriving this afternoon! I wanted to be sure on three different brands before I told him! It is a lot to process I think. I do like to get my thoughts together normally on things so I know how I feel before someone asks me something.
I went for a bottomless brunch on Saturday 😳 so I’m hoping that’s okay! As I think had I done a test then it probably would have been positive!

ChloeN · 30/11/2022 20:50

@CityKity ah glad to see you on this thread think I just congratulated you on the conception board☺️

Mulner88 · 30/11/2022 21:02

@CityKity @PumpkinEverything I found out I was pregnant the day after I went out on day drinks (that also went into the evening & night) with my friends 🙈 I wasn't expecting my period for a day or so after and didn't think I would actually be pregnant as we'd been trying for quite some time!

PumpkinEverything · 30/11/2022 21:16

This makes me feel so much better @Mulner88 haha. My cycles have been a bit irregular so I wasn’t really sure when I’d actually be classed as ‘late’. I had to pretty much force myself into testing yesterday because I think I was in denial and just had a gut feeling the test would be positive 🙈
