It still feels very early but I’m taking a leap of faith and starting a thread here.

Just found out yesterday that I’m due at the very start of August.

Anybody else yet?

Welcome and congrats newbies :D

My new symptom today has been bloating and I'm enjoying pretending I have a bump again 😂 I look like I did when I was about 16 weeks with my son. I definitely won't fit into my gym clothes for Zumba tomorrow 🤦🏻‍♀️

PumpkinEverything · 01/12/2022 00:00

I feel so bloated too, and gassy. I hate this part! I don’t even feel like I’m pregnant with a cute bump, just like I’m really fat 😂 I’m going to need to wear my jeans everyday while I still can!

sinloutox · 01/12/2022 08:09

I’ve ordered more tests today 🫣
I know that I need to stop testing and step away but I just can’t help myself 😂 Booked an early scan for Mon 12th by which point I should be 6 + 3. Hoping to just see that it’s in the right place and possibly a HB but I know it might be too early. I dreamt last night that I did a test that said “Embryo in the wrong place” which I’m hoping is my anxiety and not a psychic prediction! I’ll be so glad when the first 12 weeks is over regardless of the outcome at this point!
hope everyone is ok ❤️

TheBirdintheCave · 01/12/2022 08:33

@sinloutox Only eleven days to go! I've got nineteen til mine x__x

I have one cheapie test left so it will be very strange to take that last one tomorrow. I hope I never have to pee on a stick every again following my digi on Monday. Feels like the end of an era almost.

I'm not sure if it was a dream or not, but I think I woke up last night with stretching feelings across my stomach. It stopped when I rolled over but I wasn't awake enough to really analyse what was going on. I really hope it wasn't anything sinister 😕

sinloutox · 01/12/2022 08:48

@TheBirdintheCave its horrible analysing every little thing isn’t it 😭
I keep trying to remind myself that whatever is going on I can’t control now but it’s easier said than done! I wouldn’t have booked so early but I just want to know it’s not ectopic/maybe see a HB before I tell my GP/IBD team. I’m on infusions for colitis but also work in the department so want to have some reassurance before I let my consultant know as he’s also a friend of ours! It will be so nice to get the thread past the 12 week point for us all hopefully!
I’ve had lots of twinges/stretching too - trying to tell myself all normal!

TheBirdintheCave · 01/12/2022 09:41

@sinloutox Ah I see, good plan than :D I can't wait until we all start posting scan pictures :)

heand2022 · 01/12/2022 09:43

So sorry if this is triggering for anyone talking about tests - it's really helping with my anxiety to do them every couple of days just for reassurance. Waiting until I thought I was the 5 week mark which I am today and got a 2-3 week on a CB digital. Eased my nerves quite a bit and now just waiting it out until my midwife apt on the 21st and early scan on the 22nd!

PumpkinEverything · 01/12/2022 09:55

I tried to take two tests this morning. I had an expired from the summer CB one that I thought was a weeks one, but it was just the digital pregnant/not pregnant. It didn’t work anyway as it gave an error. Then tried to do one of my easy @ home ones and the dye stopped halfway up 😂😂 I’m not too worried right now as there was clearly something wrong with both! I’m holding out for my actual weeks one until the weekend.

is anyone apps putting them at different dates? One said I was 5 weeks yesterday and the other is 5 today. It’s 5 weeks today since my LMP so I’m not sure what to go by!

TheBirdintheCave · 01/12/2022 10:01

@PumpkinEverything I have my own dates as I ovulate a week later than average. By my LMP I'd be 6+3 but I know I'm actually 5+3.

If you're counting it from your LMP then I'd go with five weeks today :)

PumpkinEverything · 01/12/2022 10:23

Thanks @TheBirdintheCave it’s so hard to figure out sometimes. I think I could have ovulated early this month, or had some strong swimmers that stuck around 😂 I really want to know how far along I actually am. My husband said this morning he thinks we’re having twins because he keeps going back and fourth on whether he thinks it’s a boy or girl 😂😂

TheBirdintheCave · 01/12/2022 10:40

@PumpkinEverything Oh goodness, I'm so scared of twins haha 😂 It would change our life plans massively but I guess the die has been cast now!

My husband thinks ours is a girl but I think he's just saying that to be nice as he knows I want a girl 😅

ChloeN · 01/12/2022 10:44

@PumpkinEverything we’d both love twins, my mums convinced it is this time 🤣

SnowL2021 · 01/12/2022 10:45

@TheBirdintheCave I'm exactly the same - terrified of twins and would love a girl! Though would be nice to have a brother for my son so not too bothered!

CityKity · 01/12/2022 10:51

Another BFP FRER this morning so I guess that’s that! Slightly less anxiety this morning and trying to get on with it. It will all get real when I tell DH.

@ChloeN we’ve always wanted twins too 🤞. Secretly hoping that the very positive test is some indication of high hcg from twins, but in reality I suspect I just ovulated very early.

What apps are you using to track pregnancy now? Clue was great for cycle tracking but not sure what to use now!?

TheBirdintheCave · 01/12/2022 10:56

@CityKity Hoorah for another BFP :) I haven't downloaded any pregnancy apps yet. When I was pregnant with my son I had one that told me what fruit size he was week by week 😂

Amme18 · 01/12/2022 11:09

@PumpkinEverything I’m going by LMP, but honestly not sure where I am. My prev. two periods were around 5 weeks (around the time my mum became really poorly and after she passed away so deffo stress related). Ovulation tests were never positive from when I was taking them, but first one I took on the 12th Nov was bright but not positive and then got gradually lighter, so wondering if I ovulated really early. LMP was the 29th Nov. Guess i’ll find out at the scan but I’m SO impatient 🤣

Had some sickness last night and dry heaving this morning 🤢 And so bloated it’s uncomfortable. Also enjoying the fake bump though! And fearing twins with the early tests/early sickness. Think OH would go into shock…but my 3 yo keeps saying he wants a sister AND a brother so maybe he knows something I don’t.

PumpkinEverything · 01/12/2022 11:33

My husband has twin brothers so I feel like there’s a chance 😳 and I’m scared of my dark tests haha. We always said we wanted 2 kids, then when our daughter was born we said maybe 3. I feel like I’ll have a heart attack if we have twins after this being a surprise!

id quite like another girl but have had this feeling since I suspected I was pregnant that its a boy?!

TheBirdintheCave · 01/12/2022 11:48

@PumpkinEverything Unfortunately, the gene that causes hyperovulation (resulting in fraternal twins) only runs on the maternal line. Identical twins could happen to anyone though :)

If your husband's brothers are fraternal twins then he could possibly carry the hyperovulation gene and then any daughter you might have could have the chance of twins if she inherited the gene.

CityKity · 01/12/2022 11:56

Just a quick Q for you lovely ladies that are either ahead of me or have done this before: will my boobs ever stop being rock hard and tender, or is that it from now on?! Such a pain!

Also finally read some very helpful mumsnet pages on pregnancy and realised that my standard daily multivitamin contains Vit A which should be avoided - whoops. I feel like I’m so behind on what the hell I should/shouldn’t be doing!

TheBirdintheCave · 01/12/2022 12:12

@CityKity I think it went away for me in the second trimester? But there was a lot of coming and going in the first twelve weeks. Some days felt better than others and some days I would be crying when I took my bra off.

PumpkinEverything · 01/12/2022 12:13

@TheBirdintheCave good to know, hopefully we’re safe 😂🤞🏻

@CityKity i think some symptoms like that can stop around 8 weeks (that’s what I remember people saying last time anyway!), something to do with the placenta kicking in? It freaked me out as it made me think something was wrong 🙈 I’ve got my pregnacare vitamins ordered to arrive tomorrow on a subscribe and save. I was taking the new mum ones for a few weeks so I’m hoping that’s covered me a bit for folic acid. Not sure of their vitamin A Content tho 😳🙈

MsRT · 01/12/2022 15:02

Hope everyone’s getting on ok 🥰

I had my booking in phone call yesterday and I’ve got my bloods booked in for the 13th. I’ve also booked a scan for the 20th when I’ll hopefully be just over 8 weeks.

December is a very busy month usually so I’m hoping it will go by very quickly (especially with my son turning 1 too)!

TheBirdintheCave · 01/12/2022 15:17

@MsRT I'm still waiting to hear about my booking in appointment. I sent the forms off on Monday. I just want to know when it is so I can block it in the calendar 😂

AnnieApple123 · 01/12/2022 15:42

@TheBirdintheCave Feel free to call me crazy but I’ve been a little bit sad about the pregnancy test era of my life being almost over (never say never but I’m not currently envisaging a third). I have just one FRER left and it’s a very odd thought that it may be my last ever.

Lots of strange dreams here too. My cramping is much better which I’m hoping is a good sign and not a bad one. At nearly 5 1/2weeks I’m also suddenly very interested in pickles.

Hospital tour this evening…. It’s starting to feel quite real…

@MsRT They're really on the ball where you are. Least you have a clear plan set in stone which helps with the anxieties of it all.

@TheBirdintheCave when did you send your booking forms? I'm sure you'll hear back soon.

@AnnieApple123 I haven't tested in a week now and feel like I'm in limbo like I don't know what's happening anymore. I'm tempted to get another test 🙈 I hope your hospital tour goes well and you like it. My local hospital has mixed reviews re maternity which scares me a bit and most of the reviews online are negative but I guess people don't bother posting the positive stuff. It's just handy for me as I work on the grounds of the hospital so handy to get to appointments etc. I had some cramping last night which has eased today.
