It still feels very early but I’m taking a leap of faith and starting a thread here.

Just found out yesterday that I’m due at the very start of August.

Anybody else yet?

just catching up. Lots of newbies; congratulations and welcome! ❤️

Hope that everyone is doing ok. Was awol yesterday as I’ve got the aftermath of a cold (any tips for unblocking an ear? 🤣 I’m a teacher and could hardly hear the kids for a change yesterday haha) so had an early night.

@somuchtolearnabout I’m so sorry that you’re having a tough time. I feel like there’s a lot of us on here who are feeling similar so please don’t feel like you’re on your own. I was a mess until I got a dye stealer and then I promised myself I would stop testing but I’m now thinking about doing a digital to see if I get 3+. It feels never ending!

I’ve got no advice unfortunately other than solidarity ❤️ Hope you’re all feeling a little bit better this morning xxx

Amme18 · 30/11/2022 07:37

@somuchtolearnabout
I completely get it, I have to same worries and concerns. Can’t ease your worries but know you aren’t alone.

Ive been really breathless and bloated - honestly feel about 5 months pregnant. Anyway dr Google says it’s common for second pregnancy and it’s linked to progesterone! Didn’t get like that until further along last time when baby was more than a sesame seed 😅 also getting the cramping too, 4w 5 d so hoping that eases by the weekend.
@PumpkinEverything strong flavours/smells are doing me so far - couldn’t manage roasted garlic or stuffing over the last week! Last time I literally couldn’t eat anything savoury/meat.

AnnieApple123 · 30/11/2022 07:56

@somuchtolearnabout I hear you. I’ve had some similar moments over the last few days. There was a point on Friday when I was truly convinced this wasn’t going to last. For the record I’ve also sometimes had irrational thoughts of it somehow being my turn for something to go wrong - not just with this but with other things too.

@TheBirdintheCave Yes it has occurred to me that in many areas there wouldn’t be a hospital closer than 40 mins anyway so it should be a perfectly acceptable choice. Our nearest hospital is only 15 mins away but I do have valid reasons for not choosing it.

TMI warning. I’m now getting quite a lot of discharge which is awful as I’m always fearful it’s blood and have to go rushing to check. Again I’m feeling sorry for my toddler as I’m not my usual self in so many ways.

ChloeN · 30/11/2022 09:10

@AnnieApple123 me too makes you panic doesn’t it! But if I didn’t have it I would also be worried about that🤦🏻‍♀️

MsRT · 30/11/2022 09:25

@AnnieApple123 I’ve got the same here too and worried about going to the toilet. Cannot wait for this part to be over already

PumpkinEverything · 30/11/2022 09:41

Hope you’re feeling a bit better this morning @somuchtolearnabout this start bit is always so nerve wracking, and I feel like no one ever talks about it! You always think people are thrilled without a care in the world and thinking of names etc, but it’s actually really scary.

I cried last night putting my daughter to bed because she normally falls asleep on top of me and I was thinking how long will she be able to do that before a bump is in the way. I’m feeling such guilt that this is awful and she’s going to hate having another baby and I’ll be taking something away from her when she’s still a baby herself

AnnieApple123 · 30/11/2022 09:48

@PumpkinEverything Yes, once upon a time I used to imagine that people were happily in their little cocoon of baby catalogues and nursery plans at this stage. How naive I was.

My toddler is quite rough with me physically, wanting to sit on my stomach and pretend I’m a car, etc. I’m afraid I’ve had to put a stop to this already.

I wish I didn’t have to wait until tomorrow for my tests to arrive 🙈 I think Black Friday is causing such a backlog in deliveries from Amazon! I done another easy @ home with my second pee and it’s still pretty positive, but I’d like a dye stealer and for another brand to tell me 😂 I do have a digital but it expired in the summer so I’m sure it’s not very reliable! Might do it anyway actually since either way it needs thrown out

ImpatienceOfASaint · 30/11/2022 10:20

Hello everyone and congratulations all! I’ve just got my BFP yesterday, from my dates looks like I’ll be due around 8th Aug. Hope you don’t mind me joining you!

Alpacabag22 · 30/11/2022 10:28

Hi folks, can I join? Got a BFP a few days ago but couldn't believe it so I've been testing like a fiend over the last week.

Been trying for about 6 months with a chemical pregnancy early on. I'm excited but a total bag of nerves. Hoping I can wean myself off the testing habit in a week or 2.

Sending good vibes to everyone! 😁

TheBirdintheCave · 30/11/2022 10:41

Welcome @Alpacabag22 and @ImpatienceOfASaint :D Congratulations!

sinloutox · 30/11/2022 11:09

Welcome @Alpacabag22 & @ImpatienceOfASaint and congratulations!

Loudmouth1 · 30/11/2022 11:42

Anyone else been hit with nausea or sickness yet? And just so overly emotional?

TheBirdintheCave · 30/11/2022 11:52

@Loudmouth1 No to the nausea. I'm still waiting and getting more anxious as I was definitely nauseated at this point with my son :/ I am more emotional though for sure 😂

AnnieApple123 · 30/11/2022 12:03

Welcome to @Alpacabag22 and @ImpatienceOfASaint

@Loudmouth1 I’ve have some nausea but not too bad so far. The heartburn has been bad.

I’ve been taking Vitamin B6 as there’s some evidence it can prevent sickness in pregnancy. I took it last time and was one of the lucky few who had no sickness at all, although goodness knows whether that was why and I’m prepared for things being very different this time.

However I’ve just noticed that the brand I’m taking contains glycerol and had a huge panic as that’s technically an alcohol, is it not? Just looking at the packaging again though and the last two symbols surely mean it’s safe whilst pregnant and/or breastfeeding? It definitely doesn’t say anywhere that it’s not.

@AnnieApple123 I'm sure that's fine :)

Mulner88 · 30/11/2022 12:23

Welcome to all the newcomers and congrats on the BFP's 😊

@somuchtolearnabout sorry you had a bad night! It's awful the anxiety and completely normal. I'm sure we can all relate. In the back of my mind, I'm terrified of ectopic and get this dull ache on my left side from time to time and this morning I was just thinking the worst! I'm just going to ride it out but it's so hard. My DH keeps telling me to stop googling stuff 🙈 I'm trying 😂

Daisy1992 · 30/11/2022 12:52

Hi all, it's reassuring to know I am not the only one feeling anxious in these early days.. these period like cramps are so worrying, I keep rushing to the toilet to check all is fine!

I am waking up at 4 or 5am the last few days; I'm not sure if that is just the worry or a symptom haha.. and yes overly emotional, cried this morning on my drive into work because of a nice song on the radio 🤣

I have had a few waves of nausea, which I am strangely happy about as it makes me feel like my body is making the hormones - I'm sure I won't be saying that if it gets worse though 😆

I will be 5 weeks on Sunday, so just trying to relax until then.. and then I'm sure I will be thinking about the next stage!

AnnieApple123 · 30/11/2022 12:58

@Daisy1992 Yes it’s so good to know we’re not alone with our anxieties, isn’t it?

I’ve been thinking about doing a weekly indicator test as I’m passed 5 weeks now. If I got a 3+ that would obviously be great. However if I didn’t, I’m not sure quite what I would do. I guess I’d probably end up going for 48 hourly HCG bloods but I know from past experience that that’s incredibly stressful and the wait would be painful.

OP posts:
TheBirdintheCave · 30/11/2022 13:08

@AnnieApple123 That's why I'm waiting until 6 weeks to do mine. Knowing my luck I will probably still get 2-3 😂

SnowL2021 · 30/11/2022 13:10

I didn't get nausea with my first child until six and a half weeks - so I'm trying to make the most of not feeling sick atm as I doubt it'll last much longer!

I have also had thoughts about it being my turn for something to go wrong. Trying to block the thoughts out, but they can be loud at times!

Hope everyone is doing alright today.

heand2022 · 30/11/2022 13:14

I want to test every minute of everyday but it's so frustrating. Telling myself I'll wait until 6 weeks to do another digi weeks test - that was the sign that I had a chemical last time. I was stuck on 1-2 for a while and then started bleeding the day after I took it. No nausea for me but just slightly sore boobs - hate not having loads of telltale signs but hoping I'll get a dye stealer soon to ease my worries. Just done this test at work and it's not 5 mins into developing yet and still super strong - just taking that as a positive sign

PumpkinEverything · 30/11/2022 14:40

My other tests arrived a day early and came today, so I’ve done a variety. These came up within a minute of each other and I got my dye stealer 😅

I’ve a digital but want to do it when it says 3+. I thinkkkkk I’m 5 weeks tomorrow, does anyway know when it normally changes to that?

I had a little bit of nausea when I was out today, and still a bit crampy with stretching feeling. Told my best friend and she is over the moon and can’t believe it! Will tell my husband when he finishes work. I just knew I couldn’t not tell my friend when we were together for a few hours 😂
