It still feels very early but I’m taking a leap of faith and starting a thread here.

Just found out yesterday that I’m due at the very start of August.

Anybody else yet?

Welcome @Daisy1992 ! Yes I’ve had the dizzy spells too.

@AnnieApple123 oh sorry to hear you’re not feeling great😔 I’m soo bloody tired I was never like this before which I hope is a good sign!

@Daisy1992 welcome lovely!! I get dizzy when I stand up too quick but I hadn’t really thought much of it! I always used to get it as a teenager but it eased off a bit in the last few years till now xx

TheBirdintheCave · 28/11/2022 15:20

Welcome and congrats, @Daisy1992 :)

FlamingoBabe · 28/11/2022 16:13

I’ve been quiet over the weekend as had a busy one so hiya to the newbies and congratulations!! It’s still feeling very surreal, does anyone else feel like that? Like I don’t believe I’m actually pregnant again. I’ve been feeling sick but it comes in waves but apart from that, I wouldn’t even know I was. I remember feeling tired with DS (who’s now 10months) but I didn’t doubt I was pregnant if that makes sense? I ended up doing a test in Asda loo’s over the weekend just to make sure and it was a blazing positive but it still doesn’t feel true 😂

BoodifulGoose · 28/11/2022 16:34

@FlamingoBabe this is my first pregnancy but honestly same. Don't feel pregnant really at all, don't feel any different to usual and keep feeling like I've somehow made it up?

Amme18 · 28/11/2022 16:47

Thanks everyone.

Im generally quite symptomless but I don’t think I had many symptoms until 6ish weeks last time. My boobs are absolutely killing me though, and occcasional waves of nausea. Hard to know with exhaustion as I’ve been like that since my mum passed away in October, and I also have a 3 year old who likes to wake up at 5.30/6 😐

I don’t think the heartburn ever went away from the first pregnancy, although I think it’s been worse the past week or so, and really gassy 😳

My first midwife app this time round isn’t until 10 weeks! It used to be 8. Feels like a really long time to wait! I think first scan is 14 weeks too instead of 12!

ChloeN · 28/11/2022 16:56

@Amme18 really! That seems such a long time away🙈

DesertSnow · 28/11/2022 17:22

@FlamingoBabe @BoodifulGoose I'm another one in the lack of symptoms camp. I don't feel pregnant but have nothing to compare it to. Boob tenderness has lessened and no nausea to speak of. Hoping all is ok. This wait for a scan is very nerve-wracking.

@LS888 that sounds hard about your mum's reaction, especially when you must be feeling very sensitive yourself. Hope you're feeling a bit better about it today.

Hi and congrats @Jadeelx @Amme18 (and I'm sorry for your loss but that's a lovely way to look at it) @heand2022 (I'm also sorry about your MC, hopefully this is your rainbow) @Daisy1992 (not experience dizzy spells myself but it makes sense as a symptom!)

Sorry you're both feeling rough @Mulner88 @AnnieApple123, hope the doctor can do something for you both.

AnnieApple123 · 28/11/2022 17:40

Thanks everyone for your kind words.

The hospital I’ve booked with is around 40 minutes drive away and I’m now suddenly worrying that may be a bit far. There are more local options but, for a variety of reasons, I’m less keen on them. I’ve arranged a tour for Thursday so will see how the journey ends up being.

FlamingoBabe · 28/11/2022 17:42

@BoodifulGoose same! It’s a very odd time isn’t it! Although I am SO bloated today and definitely remember this with DS.

Sorry to those who are feeling rough ❤️

@Amme18 oh that’s so odd about your scan, I know the midwife appts range from 8-10 wks but has your scan actually been booked for 14 weeks? I thought it had to be by 14 weeks due to if you’re wanting the tests done?

FlamingoBabe · 28/11/2022 17:44

Sorry @DesertSnow i missed your reply! It’s such an odd time isn’t it. But I always remind myself that symptoms don’t actually mean anything, some people get them, some people don’t so try not to let it worry you 🤍

LS888 · 28/11/2022 18:14

@DesertSnow I think I’m just being over sensitive but it’s so hard not to be.

I’m experiencing a bit of nausea but not as much as last time - I’m waiting for that to kick in! I had to hide biscuits in my desk drawer at work to reduce it last time. But at the moment it is coming and going quite quickly.

I found my boobs were sore probably from around week 8 last time. Not experiencing that yet but have a while to go until week 8.

hope everyone is feeling ok 😊

Amme18 · 28/11/2022 18:34

@FlamingoBabe it’s what whoever answered the phone from my local midwife unit said - I thought it strange too! I had to sign up to my pregnancy notes and refer myself through that, was told it would update with my appointment and to keep an eye on it. All changed from 3 years ago and hopefully they’re wrong about the app dates!

@LS888 until scan date it’s so hard isn’t it? The symptoms make it feel real, no matter how lousy they are. Although honesty I can’t really remember exact weeks from last time for things to compare!

FlamingoBabe · 28/11/2022 18:48

@AnnieApple123 ohhh very interesting! Let us know what it is when you get your scan date through. I remember there being a rush with my 12wk as they thought I was a bit further on when I went for a private scan so I had to phone my midwife and let her know as it would be over 14wks. It must vary from Trust to Trust. Well whenever it is, it feels like a mile off from now 🥴

SnowL2021 · 28/11/2022 19:51

@Amme18 I signed up to My Pregnancy Notes today, too - so different from just two years ago when I registered my pregnancy with my first child (and spoke to an actual midwife on the phone!).

The 12-week mark feels so far away, doesn’t it! We didn’t tell a soul about our first pregnancy until 12 weeks but we were helped by the Covid situation.. not sure how easy it’ll be this time with Christmas (and various family gatherings) to get through!!

Amme18 · 28/11/2022 19:56

@SnowL2021 oh I couldn’t keep it a secret last time - completely unplanned and I think I needed to tell people to make it sink in! This time we’ve told a few people already.
I just think I’d tell the same people who I’d want support from if things don’t work out. Although when we was trying I said I wanted to keep ot just for us until 12 weeks, but despite being planned it’s just as daunting when those 2 lines show up!

Ive got a works do in a few weeks though and don’t want to share with work just yet obviously so getting my excuses ready! Can’t drive as it’s literally at the bottom of my road 😅

Jadeelx · 28/11/2022 20:44

Thank you for the welcomes 🥰🥰🥰
The midwife called me and I have my booking app on Friday! I think it will feel real when I go onto the maternity unit 😬😬🙈

Chocolotandtea · 28/11/2022 20:54

Is anyone else suffering from insomnia?

I was a terrible sleeper pre pregnancy and often relied on sleeping tablets. Have stopped taking them now and really really struggling. I know I should speak to the GP about this but I have literally just registered at a new practice.

Can anyone provide any advice? 😭

LS888 · 28/11/2022 21:05

@SnowL2021 I’ve just done a self referral for mine too. I always thought you would have a doctors appointment first. Seems strange doing it online via a form. I guess they ring you to confirm a suitable appointment? I’m actually leaving my job in 3 weeks time. So I don’t actually need to let my current employer know. But this booking appointment might be before 3 weeks. I will be 8 weeks then going off LMC.

Wow that's so quick!

Jadeelx · 28/11/2022 21:40

@TheBirdintheCave I know I thought that, I only did the referral on Friday! It says they like to book in between 6-9 weeks, I’ll only be 5+2. It will probably be ages to wait for the scan though I bet. Im high risk, not sure if that makes any difference 🤷🏼‍♀️ although can’t see how at this stage!

ChloeN · 28/11/2022 21:51

Ladies who have been pregnant before, anyone had a UTI?? I don’t have the typical pain symptoms but have cramps like a uti plus the need to wee every 3 seconds. Do you think it’s just normal pregnancy symptoms? (I should probs just get checked at the gp anyway but just wondered if anyone had similar)

UsernameNotPresent · 28/11/2022 22:14

@BoodifulGoose yep, from same neck of the woods! What are the chances of that, eh?
@Chocolotandtea yeah, I get pregnancy insomnia, and I had it with DS as well. Luckily it got better by the end of first trimester and I could sleep again until third trimester aches and pains. No tips unfortunately, I am just trying to ride it out.

I am very crampy this pregnancy, have this funny feeling of 'stuff' happening in my uterus (I am not nuts, I promise, I just don't know how to describe it 😬), as well as feeling mildly nauseous and very tired. With DS I didn't feel pregnant at all at this stage.

@ChloeN difficult to say, UTIs can be asymptomatic in pregnancy. Could be something or it could be nothing. Worth running it by your GP.

ChloeN · 28/11/2022 22:20

@UsernameNotPresent yes I’ve heard people say that during pregnancy! I’ll try and get a sample tested just in case as think the need to wee might be slightly abnormal🤣

sinloutox · 29/11/2022 02:20

Cautiously jumping in! Assumed I was going to have a chemical as I’m a POAS addict after 3 years TTC and started testing from 10 DPO 😂 but 2 days after AF due and I’m still showing a BFP! Due August 4th according to LMP so still super early. We’ve booked an early scan before referring for midwives etc as I don’t think I’ll believe it until I see it. Congrats to all of you 🥰
