AnnieApple123 · 19/11/2022 11:24

It still feels very early but I’m taking a leap of faith and starting a thread here.

Just found out yesterday that I’m due at the very start of August.

Anybody else yet?

And Osaka from Kyoto of course.

Chocolotandtea · 27/11/2022 14:00

@TheBirdintheCave you’ve been so helpful, thanks so much! X

TheBirdintheCave · 27/11/2022 14:13

@Chocolotandtea No worries :) I'm desperate to go back but it will be a good few years for us now 😭

Lots of other tips so feel free to ask if you have any other questions :) Also, Google 'pocket wifi' as it was one of the best things we bought (well, rented) whilst over there.

@AnnieApple123 that gives me some reassurance that your previous pregnancy was like this. I just can’t believe the doctor doesn’t confirm your pregnancy and you just have to wait for your first scan. I am obviously completely uninformed but I thought the doctor would confirm it with a blood test.

Anyway, I hope you are not feeling too bad today x

Hahaha this was me my first pregnancy. I went to the GP like "ta daaaa" I'm pregnant! And they basically said yeah and? Go see a midwife 🙃

So that was an anticlimax.

somuchtolearnabout · 27/11/2022 14:54

Has anyone done the weeks clearblue test? And does anyone know at what point I should expect to see it show pregnant 2-3 weeks? I've only taken two tests (one FRER and one clearblue early detection because I like being able to see the words in black & white) but I've got a clearblue weeks here and don't want to waste it until I should expect to see 2-3 weeks! Sorry for ramble

ChloeN · 27/11/2022 15:05

@somuchtolearnabout I have! I got a 1-2 at 10dpo and 2-3 at 14dpo, I think I implanted quite early this time xx

AnnieApple123 · 27/11/2022 15:05

@somuchtolearnabout I’m not a great fan of the weeks indicator tests if I’m honest. Last time they caused a lot of unnecessary stress as I didn’t get the results I expected at the times I expected. If you search on here, there are many, many threads by women who’ve been similarly stressed by them. Hence I’ve so far avoided them this time.

TheBirdintheCave · 27/11/2022 16:44

@somuchtolearnabout I have one which I'm saving for six weeks in the hopes of seeing 3+

ChloeN · 27/11/2022 16:56

Is anyone else struggling to go to the loo? (💩) it’s giving me a belly ache but I just can’t go🤣 I presume it’s normal but doesn’t help the anxiety with the belly ache!

TheBirdintheCave · 27/11/2022 17:06

@ChloeN My IBS is always worse when I'm pregnant.

LS888 · 27/11/2022 17:14

Hi all, I would love to join if that’s ok? I got a BFP this weekend and various due date calculators say between 29th July and 1st August.

Sorry if I have missed this but are any of you taking any prenatal supplements? I’ve just ordered some from Holland and Barret.

I had a missed MC in July at 11 weeks (measured 7 weeks). Trying to stay calm and positive this time around- although that’s very hard and I can feel a bit of anxiety creeping in.

Trying to catch up on the other messages 😊

ChloeN · 27/11/2022 17:28

@LS888 we sound similar, I had a mmc in July too! I’ve just been taking folic acid and vitamin D as that’s what I took when ttc so thought I may as well continue!

ellie0605 · 27/11/2022 17:29

Congratulations @LS888 I had a mmc in august so am with you feeling nervous!

I take her9 supplements and really like them

AnnieApple123 · 27/11/2022 17:35

Welcome @LS888 ! Definitely get some prenatal vitamins so that your folic acid/folate requirement for early pregnancy is covered. I take Cytoplan Pregna-Plan which I’ve been very happy with as they’re good quality yet reasonably priced. I also take vitamin D and fish oils plus Optibac Daily Immunity as pregnancy slightly depresses your immune system and I’m quite wary of the likes of flu, Covid, etc.

TheBirdintheCave · 27/11/2022 17:36

@LS888 Quite a few of us have had MMC in the past so you're not alone :) Mine was in late March. Welcome and congrats! As to supplements I've been taking the Boots conception vitamins for over a year now so are going to finish my box and then move on to the pregnancy ones. I think all you actually need is folic acid and vitamin d though.

TheBirdintheCave · 27/11/2022 17:37

*I'm going to

Eugh I am so tired 😂 I've given the toddler the iPad to play on so hopefully that will give me a bit of time to rest. My husband is going to feed him tea I think :)

ChloeN · 27/11/2022 17:39

@TheBirdintheCave im with you on feeling tired, I’ve been hiding in the bath for about an hour to avoid cooking tea🫣🤣

Argeebargee88 · 27/11/2022 17:41

Urgh, I'd forgotten about the first trimester tiredness. Although I can't remember being this tired this early on last time... 🤔

On saying that my DS is 12, so it's been a while 😂

LS888 · 27/11/2022 17:43

Thanks for the lovely welcome 😊 I’m already taking a folic acid and vitamin d tablet that I have been taking whilst ttc. So that covers the basics then!

AnnieApple123 · 27/11/2022 17:45

Yes I’ve just been thinking how grateful I am that I managed to potty train my 2.5 year-old just before becoming pregnant. I don’t think I’d have the energy for it now.

OP posts:
TheBirdintheCave · 27/11/2022 17:47

@AnnieApple123 We're hoping to have that complete by the summer 🙏

@ChloeN That sounds amazing. I didn't have this tiredness last time nor with my son so it's all a bit odd.

AnnieApple123 · 27/11/2022 17:55

@TheBirdintheCave Sorry I hope that didn’t sound off putting about potty training. It’s gone very well for us. Just the first 10 days or so were really intense and required being on top of him ALL the time in a way which I would struggle with currently.

OP posts:
somuchtolearnabout · 27/11/2022 17:57

I'm just taking the pregnacare vitamins as they cover everything, and I found a box leftover that's still in date from my last pregnancy.

Sorry to everyone that's had a rough road getting here, all I can hope is that we are all lucky enough to have successful pregnancies and healthy babies at the end of it.

I've felt absolutely pooped all weekend, but my husband is away at the World Cup and I'm looking after a 3yo and a 1yo on my own, who both apparently need to be touching me or sitting on me pretty much at all times. Luckily my sis has been with us most of the weekend so I've had a bit of respite. Suffice to say I've been putting the kids to bed at 7 and going straight to bed myself!

TheBirdintheCave · 27/11/2022 18:16

@AnnieApple123 No it's all good :) We've been moving towards that phase and had planned for the summer for potty training before I found out I was pregnant.

MsRT · 27/11/2022 18:21

@DesertSnow @Chocolotandtea Sorry for the late reply but thank you 🤍

@BoodifulGoose I’m so sorry for your loss too. Thank you so much for your kind words and advice. I feel everything you said 💕

@AnnieApple123 thank you so much. I’ve just had a quick look and that’s super helpful 🤍

Welcome and congratulations to everyone joining today!

Anyone else feeling nauseous already? It’s coming in waves that are starting to become a lot more frequent 😳
