It still feels very early but I’m taking a leap of faith and starting a thread here.

Just found out yesterday that I’m due at the very start of August.

Anybody else yet?

Hello hi! Cautiously joining! Congrats everyone 😁💙

Found out yesterday, will be a FTM and I'm so happy and excited but today I'm so nervous that it's not real? 😅

I've had 9 (I know, I have anxiety 😂) positive cheap tests, but today I did one Midstream Clear Repsonse (but dipped it in the cup, it says on the pack you can do that) and it came back negative despite 2 positive cheap ones.

Has this happened to anyone else here?

Could it just be that I'm not pregnant enough for the ClearResponse one or could it be that I'm not actually pregnant? Although I have read that chances of false positives (especially 9) is extremely unlikely 😂 (hoenstly think I'm just worrying myself that it's just a chemical one or something. Think Ive done too much reading 😭)

Any thoughts on the Clear Response test would be massively appreciated though!

Congratulations @FlamingoBabe !

Chocolotandtea · 25/11/2022 11:58

Sorry @BoodifulGoose i don’t have the answer but hopefully someone who does will be along shortly.

like you I just can’t quite believe that it’s real x

Chocolotandtea · 25/11/2022 12:01

So I’ve just booked my first midwife appointment next and first scan appointment too.

This all seems so unreal as last night I was so sure I was going to get my period today because I was cramping.

my indicative due date is 1st Aug. Really hope I can get a wee holiday in around end of April/start of May but not sure if that’s pushing it!

I can’t believe that that’s it now until my first midwife app and even then, I won’t even know anything till my first scan. Im so terrified that something will go wrong as we so often hear of it doing so. But guess there’s not much we can do now but wait.

Praying we all have safe and healthy pregnancies x

TheBirdintheCave · 25/11/2022 12:02

Hi @BoodifulGoose . I've not heard of those tests I'm afraid, but if they have a high sensitivity then it's definitely possible to get a negative on one with previous positives on other tests :)

BoodifulGoose · 25/11/2022 12:03

No worries @Chocolotandtea! Thanks for the reply 🥰 my mum says she can see a faint line so maybe it's all fine 😂

I know!! Think I'm in a little bit of shock 🤣

BoodifulGoose · 25/11/2022 12:04

Despite it being totally planned 😂

BoodifulGoose · 25/11/2022 12:05

Thanks so much @TheBirdintheCave , think I knew that but hearing it come from someone that isn't my mum (who I know wants me to be happy 😂) is extra reassuring!

Chocolotandtea · 25/11/2022 12:06

@BoodifulGoose Same! This was very much planned but I just expected it to take so much longer as my own sisters have sadly really struggled with fertility.

TheBirdintheCave · 25/11/2022 12:33

Just booked my eight week EPU scan for Dec 20th. Fingers crossed for a nice photo of a gummi bear baby for Christmas.

SnowL2021 · 25/11/2022 12:47

Hey! Cautiously joining, too! Due around 2nd August 2023. Would be my second child (first hasn’t long turned one but second very much planned! Some days, I’m not sure why haha). Feeling just as nervous - if not, more - about this pregnancy as I did with the first. Congrats to everyone else with BFPs! X

TheBirdintheCave · 25/11/2022 12:49

@SnowL2021 Welcome and congrats, Snow :)

ChloeN · 25/11/2022 13:03

@Chocolotandtea @TheBirdintheCave how exciting you’re both getting your appts booked☺️ I’ve not done anything yet! Not sure when I will, I need my 8 week appt to be after Christmas really!

Chocolotandtea · 25/11/2022 13:03

@BoodifulGoose what a great idea. Wondering if I should do the same!

TheBirdintheCave · 25/11/2022 13:40

@ChloeN I haven't booked anything else formally, I just did the EPU one in case they were fully booked in a few weeks time :)

Chocolotandtea · 25/11/2022 13:48

@TheBirdintheCave you have inspired me to do the same. Have booked in for 23rd Dec which should be my 8th week x

Chocolotandtea · 25/11/2022 13:52

Glad I called the nhs early maternity unit when I did though as they said they couldn’t give me an appointment until I registered with a local gp (we moved house recently and hadn’t got round to doing this). So I had to go get the forms etc today and register. The kick up the butt I needed. Next stop, dentist!

Mulner88 · 25/11/2022 14:08

Wow a lot of messages today 😊 welcome to the newcomers and congrats on the BFP's, exciting and nervous time.
@Chocolotandtea wow how did you get your booking app so quick? I still need to fill out my form which I will do today, but last time I filled out the form, it took me about 2-3 weeks to get an app letter in the post.
@ChloeN I'm the same, my 8 weeks lands on the week that I am out of the country (which is making me nervous in case anything goes wrong), so ideally want it for the week after Christmas!

BoodifulGoose · 25/11/2022 14:10

I've just had a call from "my midwife"!!! :o

8 week appt booked for 19th (17th is 8 weeks) and I asked about an early scan and if she has feelings on them, my partner and mum think it could make me more anxious, but she recommended it so getting that booked! 😁

Chocolotandtea · 25/11/2022 14:22

@Mulner88 I’m in Scotland so it might be different here? I got told my dates on the phone (midwife week 9 and scan week 12) and they said they would post the letters out to me too.

I have also booked and paid for my 8 week scan because I think I need to see it to believe it

Chocolotandtea · 25/11/2022 14:23

Can’t believe we all got preggos so close to Christmas 😨I’m thinking I’m probably going to have to tell my very close friends early as we had a big night out planned next week. I get why they tell you not to share the news widely so early but at the same time, if (god forbid) things do end up going wrong, then surely you’d need that support?

Mulner88 · 25/11/2022 14:58

@Chocolotandtea they are super organised in Scotland 😄 I'm in London! Yeh in a way it's good to tell some people. When I had my MC in March, no one knew I was pregnant and wasn't even going to mention anything, but it felt weird going through something so big and my mum and sister not knowing, so told them. I think it would be easier if I had have told them I was pregnant from the get go so that conversation wouldn't have been so difficult. I'm seeing my parents and sister this weekend and will likely tell them

BoodifulGoose · 25/11/2022 15:02

@Chocolotandtea I'm Scotland too 😁
Yeah that's exactly the reason we've decided just to tell people (our closest family which is most of them lol), as if something does go wrong they're who I'd want support from!

Chocolotandtea · 25/11/2022 15:07

@Mulner88 sorry to hear about your MC. That must have been really hard. Definitely sounds like a good idea to tell your mum and sister x

UsernameNotPresent · 25/11/2022 15:08

NC-ed (newbie due on 5th Aug).
I am in Scotland too ☺️ booking appointment scheduled in next 2 weeks, and I also booked a private early pregnancy scan for almost 7 weeks as I need to see the little bean.

I am cramps galore here, and even starting to feel nauseous already. I was very lucky first time around with DS, only got it mildly around 8 weeks and it stopped quite quickly.
